Most of the "EU server" games I've been playing recently have been on USE overflow servers anyway because of lack of capacity in europe to cope with the high demand. Those games have seemed perfectly playable though, so I guess most of the games I played on my US account were on west coast servers.

I guess I should check if the US server is any better to play on now, it just sucks that most of my favourite champions are very squishy or finesse bassed and get murdered too badly by latency issues.

DeafMute, I hope it wasn't you on playing Yi on the other team that I was a bit mean to today. I was loling at him for being bad at it, and his whole team was too. Didn't realize he was only level 3 or I would have explained to him that he should probably target a minion instead of a champion with alpha strike...

    Europe server think Im on.
    (from the UK)

Hit lvl 4 yesterday. havnt touched the game at all today.
And Ive gotten pretty good with Master Yi.
He has the perfect blend of minion killing power and single hero stopping power thanks to his highlander skill. Im talking pure murder at a lethal rate.

And I only engage the UBER minions (dragon and giant snake) when im around lvl 15. but by that point our teams either won or lost so its all for fun.

    Fun little game tbh.
    Love out smarting players =D

I am alternating between Xin Zhao and Jarvan. Given that people in public queues are reluctant to tank, I play Jarvan 80% of the time with full tank masteries and gear. I love that character. While his CC abilities are not quite as great as Shen's or Rammus' (and especially not Amumu), he has a very high damage output for a tank and some very devious tricks. Xin Zhao is a remarkable character as well and although I play as him infrequently, I had some rather good games as him. Right now I am saving up IP for Tier 3 runes.

Been playing the Barbarian King guy.
Pretty decent I've to say. Yet time and time again I look upon all the heros ive fought with and against and Yi and Zyre are downright OP in the right hands.

Next hero I intend on unlocking will be the Spartan fellow. Looks mean with his giant shield and spear.
Getting really sick of AFkers though. =/

Pantheon has a really specific playstyle. He's like a physical mage (lot of burst) with backdooring capabilities (his ult). Just saying so you don't expect him to be similar to Trynda. ^^

The most fun you can have playing this game is when you're playing Fiddlesticks.

The most fun parts, to me, are when your team synergizes well to pull off an awesome combo, or efficiently counter the enemy strategy.

From the new Journal, it looks like we're getting a Demacia v Noxus showmatch over the Kalamanda issue. Should be fun, I think. Wonder if it'll give us some new items, like the Ionian Boots from last time.

I wouldn't mind more Magic Resist type items. Not enough people get them as it is ><

  12. #162
What? FoN / Banshees Veil are about 9,000,000 times more common than armor on anything but tanks. The only armor items I see non tank characters buy are damage items that happen to have armor. Madreds, Zhonyas, Atmas Impaler.

You mean a third like Mercury's Treads? Quicksilver Sash is a niche item--especially when there's the Cleanse summoner spell and Banshees Veils.

Quicksilver should have the same unique as merc treads and be more expensive, imo.

Nah QSS is good as it is... messes up Malz, Urgot, Wick, Vlad, Morg, Mord, maybe Poppy, Ignite and some other stuff.

How so? It gets rid of suppression and if I'm right, Vlad's debuff, too. And Morg's ult. And all the ignites. Not to mention you can choose the time you use it, unlike with Banshee's.

Well, it depends. If it reflected the spell for something like 20% of the damage and you had to activate it. Imagine Ryze using using his snare only to end up snared himself.

  28. #178
That or some sort of absorbing ability, say for DoT spells you activate it and the spell fills up your mana or health or something.

Sounds like some people have been butt hurt by Karthus one too many times to be suggesting something like that. Wouldn't that item just completely nullify his existence? Not to mention other heavy hitting spellcaster ults. Spellcasters aren't really that difficult to deal with. Tanky DPS on the other hand...

They've put a lot of effort into asset creation if it's a joke (Seriously, that's expensive). So I'm thinking the video is a joke but they are releasing the monk.

Lee Sin is super fun to play.

Not tried him out in a real game yet but he's just the kind of champion I like, someone who's got a tonne of abilities that need skill and careful timing to use properly. Also he's got abilities that can be used in nice ways for supporting rather than just doing damage. His ult is a lot like Alistar's headbut except that Lee Sin has a built in blink on his Q. ^_^

Sheen is definatly going to be a core item on him despite not making use of the mana, all his abilities have timings that are prefect for keeping it's buff going as much as possible and his pasive attack speed buff works the same way.

People seem to be saying he's a terrible laner (I was watching Hotshot fail with him earlier) but he doesn't seem that much different than someone like Irelia to me. Then again people said Irelia was rubbish at first too.

  36. #186
Irelia has been buffed consistently since she was introduced, and to be fair anything that is tanky dps that does true damage can't be bad in this meta game.

  37. #187
Lee Sin is great. My build doesn't actually use Sheen so far. Just pure attack damage, but I've been pretty successful in pub games so far. I've been jungling with him, and it works pretty well despite the fact that I'm still a bit short on the armor runes and masteries that would make it easy for him.

I can see Sheen being great on him though, considering that you want to be throwing an ability at least every two autoattacks anyway, and I believe Sheen actually procs on his flying kick which is pretty sweet.

I like Wriggle's Lantern/boots/Frozen Mallet as my core build right now... With all his position manipulation abilities (Chase, escape, and knockback) Mallet works out well because he's good at chasing down runners and slowing them down so everyone else can catch up, forcing the other team to either commit to a team fight or bug out and leave their comrade to die, or you can jump into a hairball with either of his dash moves and hit someone once to proc frozen mallet, roundhouse them out of the fight, then chase them down one on one.

It's basically the first few items from Phreak's suggested jungling build, except I ditch Wit's End, because if I'm gonna get attack speed I'd rather go for Zeal/Phantom Dancers since they give movement speed as well as attack speed and running faster is always good.

Sheen after mallet would make a lot of sense though.

Unless the kick applies on-hit effects, Sheen shouldn't work on it.

  39. #189
Well, I wasn't looking really closely tonight, but I didn't notice it proc on the attack after the kick, so I think it proc'd on the kick itself.

I played Irelia a tonne from the start as she was my first 6300 champ and she was fine on release. She was over buffed to the point that she became overpowered and needed nerfing, I'd stopped playing her for a while because it became way too easy to win games just by picking her.

But my point was that Lee Sin has very similar laning ability early game as Irelia which has nothing to do with having true damage and they are similarly resilient early game. They both have good harassment abilities and life steal to make them good laners, Lee Sin just needs more skill as his Q is a skill shot but he also has the ability to dash backwards with his W. So I was just comparing their laneing ability to explain why I disagree with the people saying he's a terrible laner.

He is a very high skill cap champion but people are way too quick to call someone new underpowered/overpowered because they aren't accounting for learning curve. He probably could use a buff to his late game scaling and Riot have already said they will probably improve the scaling on his Q but that's got nothing to do with his early game viability in the lane.

I agree Paladin that frozen mallet seems really good on him. I tend to favour going sheen -> triforce but that's just because of my play style preference. I tried Frozen mallet -> Atmas and it may actually be a more effective build but I'm not sure if that's not simply because of the dominance of tanky dps in the meta game at the moment. Similarly I can see why Phreak may have suggested Wits End and I think I might try Hexdrinker on him as he needs some base damage and defence plus the shield works well with his W to make him deceptively tanky.

More rambling about why Irelia was fine and got over buffed because of people not considering learning curve

Lee sin is crazy fun. He's kinda like a Jax, except less damage and he doesn't suck. He's all about dashing around like a headless chicken and then punishing people with your fists of fury and your mighty jump kicks. It's hilarious. Roundhouse kills are the best.

he's also a very safe jungler, once you get into the 2 hits/ability cycle you're basically invincible against golem, lizard and dragon (at reasonable levels.) I wouldn't be surprised if a balls-out super-jungling Lee Sin could take dragon at level 4 or 5.

Not as good a ganker as some other junglers though and his jungle speed leaves something to be desired until you get madreds.

Tempest is wacky too, insane move/attack slow. it's like a Nunu-inna-can. Don't really even need phage or mallet if you're leveraging tempest.

  43. #193
He can solo Dragon at 5 with a Wriggle's. I've done it. It might be possible at 4 with better runes and masteries than I have. Phreak manages the wolves->ghosts->mini-golems sweep at level one with a LOT more HP left than I do on the champion spotlight video. I'm still trying to work out exactly what he's doing that I'm not but it's a little difficult in fast motion. But that leads me to believe it could be possible to take down Dragon earlier than I can manage it.

It would have been a tough game, if I didn't lane with amumu and feed all crazy like vs lux and taric. Guess which side depends on CC and heals. Guess who laughs at CC and heals. Also, I point out that match because it's fucking Gangplank. I have no idea what "tier" he is, but I doubt it's high, or even average.

I think there's something to be said about all the somewhat recent "changed" IP income bitching on their forums when I easily sit on almost 30000 of it. I have a fair amount of heroes and runes too.

GP is sometimes banned in high elo, because of his deny bullshit.

GJ for going for some beef, not just stacking Phantom Dancers. ^^

Also, I kinda like the sound of this 'brand' new champ coming out.

    Looks a bit boring, though.

I would be a bit more excited for the new champion if it wasn't just Ryze's and Annie's horrible monster bastard child.
