After facing Teemo on mid as Urgot i have dubbed him EFFE (Evil fat fuck extraordinare) since that poor teemo couldn't do shit besides die constantly.
'Whats that little smurf, you want to blind me with poison? Well too bad i'm just going to coat you in acid and fire some spikes at you then!'
Too bad my team kind of fell apart even though we were quite fed, they just seemed better organized in teamfights, and that Kennen was fucking annoying.
And the mantis shrimp said "Let there be light!"
And there was death.

The biggest problem in LoL players I see is: unwillingness to move from their lane, even after level 6, players tend to stay to their lanes until at least level 10. They also are reluctant to switch lanes if their character isn't best for facing that type of enemy.
I had my most embarrassing moment in LoL yesterday, it was a 70 minute game and we lost because I chose to try to get more kills (for the lulz!) instead of just bursting down their nexus, while their TF backed doored ours faster. It was entirely preventable had I decided to not be greedy, I was playing a very fed Vayne (28/8/something) who was getting awesome support from our Zilean. In all honesty I probably did not deserve to win because of that, but I *actually* felt bad for my team.

Hey, don't you hate on Urgot. <3 Urgot. Putting Teemo up against him is futile, unless he's smart enough to dodge the E with move quick and only go close for last hits.
He is THE eater of ranged DPS... I heard Corki can handle him, but that's all. Twice I was against a newbish Ashe as Durrrgot, both times this happened:
I was like level 11-14, she was like level 6-8, and I got 2 mid towers by 12 mins. And she was calling me names in all chat
<3 Urgot

Oh but you misunderstand, i was the Urgot in this case ^^
And yeah, he can pretty much eat anyone who can't quickly move around or harras him from a rather big distance![]()
Yay for Orianna!

Looks like a mixed bag of cool and bland for me.
#458
Looks potentially interesting, though Karma has shown me that relying on the positioning of allied champions to line up line damage abilities can be a real pain, so hitting people with Protect's active might be problematic unless you do a boomerang shot back to yourself. One thing I like is that the knockback ability is actually an implosion, so you want it to go off behind the enemy, dragging them back. That's something new.
Winter is coming.
Heh, anyone following the Dreamhack tournament?
Such drama erupted in the last several hours over it.

Would be good to have a link concerning this since everyone is not into competitive LOLing
http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board...d.php?t=781783
Because of ties between Team Solo Mid and Team EG, Riot believed there exists a possibility of one team knowingly and willingly giving the other an advantage in order to facilitate a win and easy advancement through the brackets. This prompted Riot to adjust the seeding and brackets in a manner we at CLG believe gives Team Solo Mid an unfair and unwarranted advantage, pushing all lower seeded teams to their side of the bracket while CLG has to compete against the higher seeded teams which have shown time and again to be stronger and more experienced.
Yeah, sorry about that. In laymen terms, Riot is changing the rules of the tournament essentially on whim based on a rumor that one team might throw a game for another. And the worst bit is, the change they made doesn't even solve the supposed problem in the long run.
Apparently this happened before as well on the Eu side for a WCG tournament. They had chosen a system of hero picking that effectively gave a massive advantage to the team that had first pick; and once everyone complained, they switched it to a more fair picking system. Problem is, they didn't annul the game results before the change and effectively told the teams that got screwed over "too bad."
Because *AFAIR* the prize is like what? 100,000 dollars? That's a pretty serious sum.
#465
It's not all that amazing when split between a five man team, but yeah.
"Fear nothing except in the certainty that you are your enemy's begetter and its only hope of healing. For everything that does evil is in pain."
-The Maestro Sartori, Imajica by Clive Barker
20,000 dollars is pretty damn amazing for playing a game, Paladin.
I do wonder at the profitability of sponsoring cyberathletes in the long term though. Outside of Starcraft and Korea, is this really a business that brings in the money? I certainly don't see how a LoL tournament could generate enough sponsorship to justify that kind of prize. But I have been wrong before...
#467
Why would a tournament prize need to be offset by sponsorship revenues? Sponsorship money goes direct to athletes anyway, not to the people running tournaments. They're not televising it, so there's no advertising to sell. It seems to me they could write off the 100,000 as an advertising cost themselves, since the tournament's purpose is ultimately to get more people to play and spend money on skins and such.
The main problem is that yes, you could look at it as being $20,000 just for playing games in one tournament, but realistically it's $20,000 for years of practicing by playing hours a day. And 20k ain't enough to live on for a year, even if it was a yearly tournament and you could win it for sure every year. This is the problem with professional gaming in general right now. There's not enough money in it for people to have it be their "day job" yet.
Tournaments are sponsored just like players can be. There'd be no reason to hold tournaments with cash prizes this significant if the tournament holders had to foot the entire bill just to advertise their game.
As for years of practice. That depends... Some players are naturally good at twitch-based games and can mix their hobby with a semi-profession. Most cyberathletes either have a day job or are young enough to be still living with their parents. Therefore, yes, 20,000 dollars is significant for them by itself. Add to this, these players usually enter numerous tournaments for numerous games a year. Therefore they have the potential to make quite a bit of money. Personally, I think e-Sports is pretty dumb and devalues gameplay in lue streamlining the game for a larger audience. Ontop of this, it also keeps the game from evolving (see: Starcraft) due to the expectations that any competitive play cannot drastically change without harming the e-Sport environment.
I am fairly certain that's not true? There isn't a single year round tournament per game where only 3 people win any money. I guess it depends on the game, but the more popular ones like Brawl, Street Fighter, Counter-Strike, Starcraft, etc. have regular smaller tournaments depending on location.
As far as living on playing LoL, the guys who do that do it through livestreams (ad revenue and fan donations).

Great score by Infi. The game started terrible with me and Brenil having to lane swap. We managed somehow to turn it around by 20 minutes. Mostly because their Vayne was stupid.

that IS amazing!
Excellent job on the early Negatron Cloak guys!
Lol, that Morde... full tank, what a nub!
#473
I saw Mord walking around with a Force of Nature about 15minutes into the game and announced over mumble that we could safely ignore him.
#475
Did some more Tribunalin', noted this report comment gem:
" For this person, "Fag" was the new "The" "
Also, got one guy with a pile of reports because his name was "Killalltheniggrs". Hmm! His actual offensive language in the game was just icing on the cake.
PS: Still no Pardons.
I actually got a what I think was a Pardon. Some guy with 600+ wins (so assuming 1k games) with 6 reports for leaving. Chat logs showed nothing. So I said, meh, disconnects, and I want to press the shiny pardon button at least once.
#477
Still no pardons from me either. A few skips, though. It's hard for me to judge if someone's been offensive in Polish or French.
I think the most strange case I've had was a guy with 200 leaves to his name. In every game, he went around telling team-mates he was screengrabbing and going to report them to Riot to be perma-banned for apparently imaginary crimes. Then he'd leave the game. I don't understand what the fun of that is.
#478
So; Orianna is a fairly tanky, support oriented caster with a scaling auto attack, good burst damage, all her abilities are skill shots, she has a pet and she's a robot.
All I need now is for her to be deemed underpowered by the masses and never picked so that I never need to play anyone else ever again.![]()
Cake can change the nature of a man!

I've vaguely started playing this again. n0z3k1ll3r, not sure if I'm on US or EU (it's whatever Australia gets bundled in with).
Let's Play Europa Universalis 3: Divine Wind
Let's Play Master of Magic: Abandoned
In the beginning there was nothing. Then Steam crashed.
Orianna is awesome!
She's like a more sustained Janna and more active Lux. Playing her is like playing lethal metal dodgeball.
It's great fun. I love it.
Has anyone else had trouble with the game randomly freezing for several seconds since the release of the new patcher (I know the new patcher has been out for a while already)? I have generally been lucky with the freezes, but recently they've been getting me killed or preventing me from getting really easy kills. I Googled the issue and I only found threads in the LoL site without any official responses.
Once I asked someone in game and they told me to get a different version of the ATI CCC, but I didn't remember any specifics and I forgot the players name. My video card's (ATI HD 5850) drivers are up to date and I can't figure out whats wrong. It's gotten to the point where I'm afraid to play because I might give away a win if the game decides to freeze at a bad moment.
I'm sure it's not lag because the screen freezes fully (no idle unit animations and projectiles freeze) and after the unfreeze everything is in a new spot, no super fast-forward catch up.

Fed Swan is terrible.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Fed anyone is terrible, really.
And that Taric should uninstall. Along with that Vayne.
#484
Fuck you. I was the Vayne. Taric shut me down completely in my lane and I had no chance to build anything and therefore had no chance to ever do anything all game. I was underlevelled for most of it.
Swain is great fun to play, his combo is rather simple but there is just something awesome about him, probably the tankiness he gets along with nice sustainable damage. That said i still somewhat suck with him, and seeing as Trizz is pretty boss with him it would be nice if he could give some advice ^^
#486
So, who else had fun installing this game.
I had fun installing this game.
So much fun.
For those of you that had fun, do you use COMODO's Internet Security program as a firewall/AV suite?
I am an Iron Warrior! Iron Within, Iron Without!
Ah, I remember installing this game. It took about 5 years. Luckily my securiteh softwares didn't declare war on it.
#488
It appears to need direct access of every program currently running under my privileges.
So many function calls. And of course, my AV asks me to confirm if I should allow a program to execute such a call, as trojans and malware can use this to hijack running processes.
So here I am, still clicking my way through the installer.
Did you experience the fun of Pando Media Booster yet? If not, the rollercoaster hits its peak once you discover that this program runs in the background and chews up your bandwidth continually uploading and downloading... something. I kept having lag issues with every part of my internet and after cursing AT&T (never a bad thing, mind you), my modem, my computer, and God... I discovered that this program was eating up hideous amounts of bandwidth and causing lag spikes, drops, and packet loss.
Here's the kicker though, LoL installs this, but it isn't required to play or even patch LoL. So what is it for?
#490
In theory it's meant to improve the speed at which you can download patches by using bittorrent derivative technology. However, this means that it's using you as a seed to help other people download patches and such the rest of the time.
Also, most of the many many games that install it will silently reinstall if you get rid of it and they detect it missing. So don't be surprised if you find it on your hard drive again sooner or later. You might find that using the windows file security interface to deny read access to all users including system and administrators is more effective than uninstalling it, since then it can't be executed, and it's already there, so games can reinstall into it, but it still won't execute afterwards![]()
#491
A correction.
It needs access to every currently-running program running under my privileges (so not SYSTEM or Local process, thank God) twice.
What in Hell's name kind of programming is that?
Riot programming. You think this is bad, wait until you see in-game bugs.
Umadbro? ^^ (I knew it was someone on these boards, sometimes you must be brutally honest.)Fuck you. I was the Vayne. Taric shut me down completely in my lane and I had no chance to build anything and therefore had no chance to ever do anything all game. I was underlevelled for most of it.
But seriously, going attack speed before armorpen or AD on a primarily AD champ is a bad idea. You won't have any damage till late game.
Not to mention, that having only attack speed forces you to stand around in fights, which is not a good idea, especially with a Taric around.
AD provides more burst, thus less time is required to stand in on place shooting, thus you can have more time used for positioning.
If you have problem with Taric, I suggest getting a Cloak and dagger or Merc's, or a Quicksilver Sash. You had none of those. C&D would've been an excellent counter item, instead of the PD.
It looks like Taric was building to counter you, and only you. Which sucks, but counterbuilding can get you ahead. Almost always.
If you need more levels you should ask for a lane switch, go to free lanes for farm, or even jungle a bit.
I hope this helped and that you didn't take my critique too seriously, since I'm here to help.
#494
LOL.
Vayne is a special case. You go attack speed on her because you're maxing Silver Arrows and you want to be able to stack that delicious 60 + 8% of target's health in true damage as fast as possible.
On other AD champions I agree with you. I build damage first, speed later. But Vayne is viable to go speed first with because her abilities allow it.
You're probably right that I should have changed my build to deal with Taric, but meh.
Yea, I know about the true damage.
Her Q also scales insanely well with AD...
That true damage actually won't deal a lot of extra damage until late game. And by leveling it earlier, you gimp Tumble which gives more burst. Leveling it instead of Condemn is alright though.
Also, building AD gives you better last hitting abilities than building atk spd. Your farm was pretty low that game.
And I think you having that score proves me right about AD over atk spd on AD champs.![]()
There's nothing wrong with attack speed/on-hit effects Vayne. It's just another way to build her that isn't any less effective than burst Vayne if you play to its strengths. Her ability to outrun every champion, stake them into a wall, or to the side or backwards means you have plenty of opportunities to auto attack them down.
Your way isn't the only way, sorry to break that to you D-Coy. And everyone has bad games.
#497
My farm was that low because I was completely shut down. I'm not sure you understand what that means. I could barely stay within XP range of the minions on my lane, let alone last hit them. Taric was managing to 2v1 me and Vert and shut us BOTH down, so Vert went off to other lanes and I stayed to keep Taric occupied because someone had to.
I've won my last couple games, and had the best or second best score in my last 5 or 6, including farm numbers.
Playing Vayne, with the same build you see there (Except I actually completed it in one or two of those games).
Love how Brenil always comes to the rescue... like it's needed.
Yes, I know what getting shut down means. Still, there's ways around that (I'm sure you know how, just saying). You guys had no jungler, I guess that was your main problem, since Taric could push as much as he wanted.
And Brenil clearly knows more than me, and knows what builds are more effective than others. He should offer advice instead of me from now on. Wait, he doesn't really do that, just protects Paladin or something which I found rather strange.
The unwanted teacher and troll are different in name only. But sometimes you must be brutally honest, yes?
Sorry for trying to use what I know to better other's experiences.
The only question is who's trolling for real? You or me?
But whatever. I see you're using the same build. I guess this is why you people are after me.
Use what you want.
