On the bright side. Easier jungle for the pros means more ohlawdyspankies for the nubs right?

That wouldn't be enough, unless your team coordinates all their burst at the right moment (which they almost never do), you really can't stop their team from rushing at you and stopping their smiter in the progress.

And who the hell maxes Q for jungling?

    So, those jungle changes...

    .. err?

First impresions are that the jungle experience is really low and it's super easy to clear.

    Methinks Ive cracked it.
With certain champs being gifted skins often and those same champs being pretty strong.
I also hear alot of people moaning about new champs being OP. But if you think about its. This game is short term fun right?
Kids to jump on. spend some RP on the latest champ and be super OP.
Only after afew weeks does these newly released champs get a nerf. But by that time the new OP champs are already out.
    The cycle continues.

    More monies for riot.
    Really smart imo.

  6. #1056
To be fair though I think that it's hard to change the selling power of a woman who can turn into a dragon.... And a bear in armour.....

They'll probably find some other nugget of awesomeness to sell at some point. I'm kinda surprised that Shyvanna hasn't had a nerf yet though.....

Im also disapointed that the main selling point of there female champs is there breasts.
Every single picture has there tits as the main attraction.

Sex Sells. Look at Car shows, sports and just about everything else.

  9. #1059
True, but am I the only one that feels that most of the females in LoL appear to have exactly the same body type, just a different dress code.

I'm not exactly opposed to buxom women in games (and I tend to find bitching about it to be ridiculous when people ignore how unrealistic male body types are in the same games) but League of Legends takes it to a level even I find kind of offputting.
Let's Play Europa Universalis 3: Divine Wind
Let's Play Master of Magic: Abandoned
In the beginning there was nothing. Then Steam crashed.

Meh, I don't honestly care. It's a stylised game, and I only care about the skill set of the characters, not their looks.

  12. #1062
Actually, I don't quite agree either about their breast being the only selling point or about their being identical. Compare Sona and Irelia. It's kinda hard to not notice that there is a significant difference. And once again compare Ashe and Karma. There is some significant variation in the shapes and sizes to put it bluntly. And frankly, I got Shyvanna because she can turn into a DRAGON! Controlling a pleasantly shaped champion is only a bonus. However I agree that there is a rather large number of buxom ladies around, but if you take a careful look, you can see there is some blatant variation.

Also, why on earth are we discussing boobs?

@Arkanadas Would you really play a game with excellent gameplay content if every time you played it it was the visual equivalent of a slap in the face with a wet fish?

  13. #1063
Gragas is the definition of a well-formed body.

Thoughts on the new bear champ?
    Im liking him.
Stick the usual tanky items on him and let his W go to work.
    You slap carries shit. lol.
However to counter to possible high dmg from his W the CD is pretty big.
Still with his passive and Q throw back. hes decent.
plus his ulti can dish out some serious dmg in team fights.

So far ive gone anti mage treads, 2x warmongs. thornmail and the shield + rageblade.

  15. #1065
    2 warmogs is pretty excessive.

And why not go atmas instead of thornmail? The latter is a situational item, while the former would benefit much more from that extra HP you're stacking.

E: also are you jungling or solo-top?

2WMs worked in the match I was in.
I dont play ranked, too many assholes.
The build is WIP really but I do think grabbing a rageblade would be pretty useful for voilabear.
Its just all down to the gold flow. I dont seem to be making that much with him.

I just need to say once more the jungle is horrible. Really.
    Was perfectly fine before.
Infact why riot didnt have a level cap to place a barrier between the new and old jungles I dont know.
The previous jungle for lvl30 play and the new one for -29.

  17. #1067
You didn't really answer any of my points, apart from the double- warmog maybe, but okay.
Its just all down to the gold flow. I dont seem to be making that much with him.
Double- warmog isn't exactly cheap though.

Ok. =P Yeah 2 WM is expensive. This last game I had.

    Mercury Treads
    Warmongs
    Thornmail
    Atmas
    Rageblade
    ???

    Came out with 10-10-18

I tried jungling but it isnt rewarding anymore. Dont seem to level beyond my lane partners and earn such pitiful gold. You have to nail the gank orelse you will be massivly behind. most of the games I play always have 2-1-2. Its rare to have a jungler in my games even before the patch.

So is it not wise to gain both a atmas and thornmail?
What would you suggest gear wise? Im open to suggestions, always.

Ive a 9/21 build for him btw.

What about Masteries too? My current set up is.
    red - 9x 0.95 attack dmg
    yellow - 9x 1.09 armor res
    blue - 9x 1.49 magic res
    quint - T3 armor pen

My heart belongs only to Rugged Garen

Also the burr is pretty awesome and his imaburr attack where he flips you over then goddamn eats you is pretty sweet. I'm not gonna get him though, I bought Talon. Any tips for him? I'm more used to tankyedy deeps so I'm going in at the wrong times I think, but I'm also not quite sure what his ideal build should look like, I'm assuming Trinity Force and straight AD.

It depends. Like I said, Thornmail is a situational item that counters champs that rely mostly on autoattacks (Tryndamere, Master Yi, Caitlyn etc.) and is a good option to consider against teams that rely heavily on physical damage.

Well I haven't played the bear myself, but the optimal tanky- deeps core has been the Atmogs- combo for some time(as in, rushing boots, warmogs and then atmas). It is pretty much the go-to for bruiser such as Gangplank, whose gameplay is oriented around getting close and personal with with plenty of autoattacking and/or having skills that scale well with AD. I would imagine that this build would work for the bear as well.

    LOL @ Talons build.

    And thanks =D
Anyone whos on the fence, stay there until the free week comes for the bear.
Im having alot of fun with him.
    LOVE his dance aswell.

  22. #1072
LOVE that build!, makes hima bit of a glass canon though.... Maybe change one of the bloodthirsters for some hp or armour if you find you're a bit too squishy...

Other than that it's a valid build if you can get the gold.

Personally I always grab at least 1 item that buffs my attack speed. It works better than just loading up on AD :/

Then again, I'm in love with my Kog and Noct...

    Minecraft?

The point I was making, you don't really play the champions because its a bear or its a rugged knight, you play it because the champions play style suits you, and they are fun to play.

Actually I totally unlock champions based on visual style (Olaf, most notably). And don't unlock others because of it (Annie, most notably). Maybe you make decisions purely on gameplay basis but that doesn't mean everyone does.

Talon is not a sustained DPS- carry. He is a burst- assassin. You go in, unleash your burst and get the hell out. Attack- speed does not work in this equation, because you're not supposed stay in and auto-attack the opponents dead (apart from finishing off). There are other champions far more suited for that style of gameplay.

    @Noz. Hence my original post:

  29. #1079
I personally wouldn't call mincraft one of those games, but I see where you're coming from, my point is that there is a point when the visual element of a game can overwhelm the content of the game; but that's a discussion for another thread.

Fair point about playstyle there. But I still think that a dragon has a great deal more selling power than say a sorta-fish-thing with a trident.

I've just realised that this all sounds a bit hypocritical as I have never dished out any cash for a champion....

I don't think I would play the game if it didn't have the look that it did; sure it's stylised, sure it's the skillset of a champion that determines your choice, but in the end I think that if you can't enjoy the visual element you're missing something. (Not saying that you are though).

And now to send the concersation in another direction. Who thinks Volibear is downright annoying? It's stupidly difficult to kil him, and on top of that he kills you while you're trying.....

Of course, champions like Volibear and Caitlyn will sell better than say a Urgot for obvious reasons. The one thing that just factor into my choice sometimes is the voice acting, for instance; I can't stand taric's voice ><

@Inskipp: THAT'S my problem with him... I played him totally wrong then! To be fair, I only really tried him out now since he's free for the week. But yeah, back to Noct I go...

Taric. Biggest faggot ever. His only saving grace is his 4th skin, Bloodknight or something.
Looks cool but even then his pansy-annoying gameplay to be alongside and fight against is irritating.
Im still having ALOT of fun with Voilabear plus his standard skin is awesome.
Wonder what the enxt champ will be. perhaps we will finally get ninetails?

And im also one of those were I have to like the look of the champs visual appearence to base a buy or not on it.
I only then hope, like I did with the bear that he plays good. And he does!

  33. #1083
Hey now, Taric is fabulous and you can't deny that, plus one of the best lane partners you can wish for <3

Think ive hit the sweet spot for the bears gear set out.

Was a crazy match. alot of foolishness on both sides.
our team had shaco jungling. to very little effect and yi facing off against cait and eemy voila at bot. pooor yi. me and wu kicked ass. my team got murdered due to carelessness. i farmed. I got stuck into team fights and rocks the enemies shit. Made enemy voila look foolish.

  37. #1087
New Sivir is quite fun, triple bloodthirster boomerang into a fight and see their squishies get eviscerated is just priceless.

Or getting ambushed by a twitch and just before you die (he has half health left) you press Q and he is no more

  38. #1088
Got to admit that voli build is quite scary....

There needs to be a Rugged team stat

Graves could definitely be on the team with those mutton chops, and Gragas is definitely a worthy candidate. If they gave Xin Zhao a beard he'd be perfect.

That build would be scary on any tanky DPS though...

The reason you won though is quite clear, the enemy team had little to no CC.

CC wasnt really important tbh. As it wasnt a ranked match. Plus both teams shared afew champs as you noticed im sure.
The 3 times I died was when I was caught out of position. I got shut down hard each time. However 2 out of the 3 I took atleast 1 of them with me.
I remember myself pushing top lane. enemy twitch thought he would come up and have a go at me. He killed himself with his auto attacks thanks to my thornmail. Never laughed so hard. I didnt even touch him and netted the kill as I was busy killing the tower and minions.
Wondering if a phantom dancer would be better inplace of the rageblade.
Hmm. Perhaps slightly better but the overall feel of the rageblade is the increasing attacksing that build up over a short time.
Fits the champ imo alot more.

  42. #1092
I would say that CC is quite important at all levels of play, without a reliable way to catch enemies, initiate or shut down a carry/assassin fights tends to be rather "clusterfucky".

I have about 10k IP saved up and I don't know who to buy, I currently have:
    Akali, Alistar, Amumu, Annie, Ashe,
    Garen, Irelia, Jarvan, Kayle, Kog'Maw
    Nocturne, Orianna, Poppy, Ryze, Soraka
    Taric, Tristana, Twitch, Vayne,
    Warwick and Xin Zhao

I find that I don't really like playing AP nukers (like Annie or Orianna), but I'm alright with most other roles (though I tend to play bruisers/junglers more because that's usually the empty role in my group of friends). I play Warwick the most by far, along with Xin Zhao, Nocturne and Irelia, although recently I've been playing Vayne and Ashe as well.

Who do you guys suggest I buy? I was thinking about Trundle (his jungling ability along with his abilities sound fun), Volibear (though I want to try him first), Lee Sin or Ezreal (so I can feel pro with my sexeh skill shots ).

I would really prefer to play someone who can bring a significant amount to the team, like a reliable disable/tankiness or a carry that isn't super over shadowed by others.

    Get volibear.
His q is a fast rush which can throw enemies over your head into your team or your own turret.
His w assuming u got hp. ala 2warmongs which i usually get before 20mins into the game will add alot of dmg towards shutting down carries. It melts them. 18sec cd though.
And his e which is a slow, also causes fear on minions.
Combined altogether and you can easily rush in on low hp champs who think a turret will protect them. rush in. throw over your head, your ally hits them afew times and you bite then run out whilst your passive helps u out with the turret shots youve taken.
His ulti is decent too for going against massive group engagements or enemy champs who feel 2 sets of minion spawns will aid them.
Activate it, and youll deal dmg upto 5 targets with each strike as fast as you can attack within a set time. its a 59sec cd too so good for farming massive minion waves late game.

    Im always finishing matches with XX-1-3 deaths-XX (kills-assists) =XX

    Volibear is a great champion.
Start with dorans shield. get boots then rush the warmongs belt then build into full warmongs. then build a 2nd. then either t2 boots or a thornmail/force of nature whichever you prefer. Then atmas and whatever else you fancy.

I have a friend who's developed an interesting approach for twitch. Builds him for straight AD damage (nothing unusual there) then:

    1) Wait for teamfight
    2) Stealth off
    3) Push a lane

It enrages everyone, especially his own teammates being left to die, but damned if it doesn't work more often than not. He's won a lot of games that way.

Twitch is hard one, because his skills are relatively weak.

When I play him I go Tiamat (works well with his ulti) and keep building damage and attack speed. You wait for a team fight to get started, as soon as they blow their utlimates and stuns, then you open up and clean up.

  47. #1097
Here's the guide that I normally follow, I really like it: http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-le...he-floor-51064
I have to say when done right twitch is really really annoying to anyone, and everyone,
but the key to doing well is early game farming, and timing and positioning in later fights.

BTW: I kind of agree with the notion of how a character looks selling them, I got twitch because he reminds me of skaven from warhammer fantasy, of whom i play. (in table top)
(also I liked his style of play)

Jungle Twitch, never safe, always careful, never makes a difference.

Also, playing Fizz while half drunk, most fun you can have with LoL with your pants on :>

    I miss the old Twitch

He's still a beast roamer though
