Well of course an experienced tanker uses his enviroment to his advantage, those Types clearly didn't. Besides the fact that you as well were heaviest with a gun that can easily penetrate the Type 59. Not to mention that those types really didn't use your disadvantage to their advantage. As far as I can see in that vid, they could have easily flanked you, instead they let you shoot your rounds into them and then safely reload.

Well done though. Type 59 isn't OP with the current tier 8 med matchups, though I still find it to be too effective for it's tier (I got one myself), as in the max tier 8 matches, half the team cannot penetrate it's front.

  3. #1303
This only shows Afoxis superiority to most players, keeping a cool head when you have that much little chinese roaches scurrying around you is as important as the tank you're in

I lol at type 59s. Most people are stupid as shit and think 'IMA OPMOBILE RAAAAH' then charge headlong into the enemy spawn.

Hitting one face on with a bl9, tracking and taking 70% of it's hitpoints off is entirely satisfying!

I have yet to see them well used mind, can someone post the stats of the gun? You cant cgeck ingame afaif.
    Knife King of Doltland

I'm not surprised. Anything within three feet of you seems to end up full of knife shaped holes.

I am very tempted to get a T59. I have seen some really, really stupid drivers playing them. Good for me as I can take most of them out, but I feel sad for all those dead tanks with horrible drivers.

    Soo tempted to get it.

    ----------

I'm looking at the 44 VS the M4. Is it me or does the M4 french tank a downgrade? It almost looks like a nasty bump down. Yes more HP, but armour cut on the front of the hull. Or am I missing something here?

Get a type 59. They are the shit.

I got some gold and fully pimped mine out. It makes credits and is utterly refreshing as my usual tanks are lumbering behemoths.

The sheer mobility of the type more than makes up for the gun, it makes it a great trolltank.

Buzz around, putting a shot into a few occupied enemies. You are so speedy you can relocate, do.damage again and so on. Not only does epic damage net you bare credits but you are genuinely credit to team as you can effectively disrupt the enemy big ones.

You can also use it as an interceptor, or wolf pack it. The beauty is you can alternate between roles in each battle to maximise your contribution.

Yesyes, good type59 is credit to team & player wallet.

    Which is the bloody same gun the Russ Tier 9 has hehe. ^^;

I still seem to have some odd problems. While playing alone I am very good and keeping myself alive. I use cover, I am alive longer and kill more. An odd mind set still kicks in when platooning, LEROY JEKINS! For some reason. Others can support this, when platooning I tend to be the first dead and the first in the fights. Still have fun, but odd thing to reflect on.

Type 59 gun is a chinese variant of russian D10 gun, which is available starting from T-34-85 and KV-3 until replaced by BL-9 and LB-1. I much prefer it to D25 which is too inaccurate to my taste. Its pen for tier 8 is lacking, ammo is cheap though.

Well, I'm actually somewhat happy. As it stands, the Type 59 is so common it is somewhat boring to play higher tiers as a medium driver, it also makes the match maker spaz out and stack five of them on one team and five IS-3s on the other. Hopefully the natural flow of the games population will reduce its population down to a somewhat reasonable level.

I hate Type 59s. not because they're hard to kill but because all the people with them drive like idiots.
I hate having them on my team because they charge in like idiots and die.
I lost a match because 3 type 59s chased a wounded jpanther into the maws of a pair of pattons. retards!

Why does a WW2 tank game have what seems to be like modern era digital HUDs?

Not quite a Red Orchestra tank map but looks fun!

I don't know what's worse. A swarm of competent Type 59s on the other team or a swarm of incompetent Type 59s on your team. Actually, I know why I hate them. Whenever I encounter a Type 59, I can guarantee that it will shoot me first, no matter what I am driving. Even if I'm surrounded by bigger, more shooty tanks that can be penned by its gun, I will die first. Some have even chased me through my entire team just to get at my AMX12t.

I kinda have no problem with Type 59. For me it is a more slow a durable T-44. But it seems that forum whiners go their victory.

Well I got a Type59 myself for a while now, and I must say the armor definately is bouncing more shells than any tier 8 does, especially mediums.

  22. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #1322
my pershing gets more steel walls than my type 59. Type 59s are no biggie - company battles against a full type 59 army are actually fairly easy to handle. They only have 1 trick.

    And that's charge/wolfpack.

Bounces are based on luck - and when you have enough panther IIs and real tier 8 heavies on a well organized team, those bounces simply don't happen.

  23. #1323
IDK you guys, the huge influx of Types, Lowes and KV-5's have all made my Pershing, stock Patton, Ferdi and stock JT grinds VERY easy. All of those tanks are dogmeat for the Ferdi's and stock JT's guns, and its borderline impossible for a KV-5 to pen a Ferdi [They also rarely seem to aim for weakpoints]. Type 59's have a funny way of blowing up instantly as soon as my JT gives one a mean look.

While those 23 new skills are very interesting, I wonder when will they ever be implemented?(I think they were first mentioned about 4 months ago) WG has been rather slow with updates -.-.
That aside once those skills are added, it will be a massive grind to get all of the skills. As I've heard that it will get harder to gain xp as you get more skills just like the xp growth of current skills...

P.S. finally gotten out of P4 processor so... getting back to WoT! :I

How are bombs going to be a factor in this game? Isn't it just going to be a plane deathmatch like WoT is?

I would take a educated guess in that one team defends a town/objective while the other team dogfights/bombs said town/objective, looking at the split tech tree I would gather that to be the possible case and probably make the most logical sense.

RPS: Is it just about dogfighting, or will there be any other kind of aircraft action (bombing runs etc?)

Sitnikov: We are planning several game modes for the release. I can reveal only brief information for now because we are still working them over and have already dropped some of them.
Let’s talk about two main modes for the moment. In the first mode your role will be to support ally ground forces. You will fly over the battlefield full of ally and enemy forces clashing on it. The objectives will be either to destroy all enemy aircrafts or a certain number of ground objects (vehicles, structures, etc). The second mode: interception or defense of ally bombers or transport aircrafts. I think everything is clear: defend your VIPs and destroy hostile ones. All VIPs will be AI-controlled with some self-defense abilities.
    Needs British aircraft.

The engine is the same so don't get your hopes up.

    Needs British aircraft.
I'm quite sure not in the initial release. Seeing there is no British tree in WoT after almost 2 years, don't get your hopes up, most likely you will get Chinese and French planes first, cause they sell better.

    Where is my Fw.190?
I'm quite sure air cooled German family of fighters will have their own tree.

So 7.2 is coming next month (maybe) and with it the T34 switch (maybe), the T30 switch (maybe), new US TD tree (maybe) and a bunch of new skills (maybe).

Any bets on how long they postpone itc and what features will be broken/incomplete?

Also, gonna unlock the Jtiger soon (only 25k to woooo) and then it will be one big indecision, do I buy the Panther now, save up and get a KT/Pershing or just grind it out and get the Jtiger?

Your soul for the RD clan.

Because even WG will not postpone/delay this late into the supertest with the exception of that smart matchmaking fiasco that quite literally broke supertest. Last i checked, nothing broke in the current supertest.

You may choose not to accept this if you wish.

  41. #1341
Bah, you guys are probably right, it's just been delayed for so long that I was doubtful it would ever come, guess it's hard to believe that they finally decided to do what they promised would be done months ago.

Then again, all of this gives me plenty of time to get any tank they ever plan to change in any way X)

  42. #1342
I have a crack pot theory about match maker: I believe match maker is not a program matching people up, but more of hundreds and hundreds of people at a computer console matching people up. These people are like 8 or 9 years old, so they believe matching up the same tank on one side is a good thing, even though those tanks out match the tanks stack up on the other. Only way i can explain match maker.

Firstly I think the balancer should take into the account "skill" and not only vehicle/crew/modules. Clueless driver of top HT/MT will contribute less than experienced scout.

I have T34 in my garage so I'm in for 0.7.2. Hopefully it will help my get the credits to advance both French branches.

Pershing is one of the few tanks that is amazing stock. And also allows for modules and top gun being installed first without getting anything else.

Cortlendt: The matchmaker does take into account accrued experience on a tank, as of a recent patch.

I've never complained about the matchmaker, all the way through closed beta, up until yesterday. It's bloody awful for Frenchies when everything is a light tank. Being shouted at to scout out the tier 8s in an AMX 40 is not fun.

AMX 40 shouldn't even get into Tier 8 battles? Also, now that people have learned about its massive frontal weak spot, the ducky is utter crap even in tier 4 games.

French started to get nicknames on Russian server. AMX50 family are "Toad", ARL44 is "Harlequin" and Bat Chatillon is "Bucket" or "Batmobile" or "Batcheat". They are often called as "Toad eaters" or "Toads" in general for their color and profile of depressing turrets.

I don't remember seeing it mention anywhere but to we know what will happen to the xp on tanks that will be switched?

Say I got ~80k of free xp on my elited KV-3, when it switches to T7 will the xp go with it and allow me to unlock the T8 tank after it or will it stay and be pretty useless on whatever T6 tank replaces the KV-3?

  50. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #1350
The pattern seems to be that the EXP remains on the object that occupies that slot in the database.

KV-3 move ups but the EXP still stays in that research block that it previously occupied. Panther II moved down, EXP that belonged to the panther II is now with E-50. T23 replaced by pershing - Pershing now has T23 EXP. T34 made premium and replaced by M103, the M103 gets the experience of that block.

The pattern can be seen over and over again.
