yeah, people who say the easy 8 sucks
or say that the pershing is underpowered...
you seriously have to start questioning their playing ability

Easy 8 is a fun tank. I keep it for it's entertainment value. Once got like 45 rounds shot, 28 hit, most on the move and without vstab. Still T-34-85 farms better and I have a nice statistic with it in random matches.

I'm nearly inches away from T34 (american). Who needs a Lowe or KV-5 nao?

I just got the 120mm gun on my T34 and not a moment too soon, because I was about to put my fist through the monitor in frustration with the 105mm.

Of course since getting the 120mm I haven't bounced a shot off of a Maus, have brutalised every IS-4 I've meet, sent a shot strait through the turret of a KV-5 and I now no longer need to aim for the underhull on Lowe's. Revenge is sweet...

After 400,000exp of play with the American 105mm gun, I can happily say it may now go die in a hole.

The VK3601 is a fun tank, especially with conical premium ammo, which is just ridiculous. They can rip through just about anything!
I feel guilty about using it, but I can't resist!

This thing just gains a lot of exp for my tanks.

  6. #806
only a few thousand EXP from the 88mm L/71 on my Panther...and I already love the tank to death, even with the short 88. The accuracy advantage on German tanks is unreal. Being in a tank that rewards you for using it (unlike the DB/PzIII/IV, which is more of a brawler, or the VK3001(P), which is more of an awful waste of space) is fun.

  7. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #807
Odd, because Doomknights absolutely hated the panther with the short 88.
Instead he mounted the 105mm howitzer on the thing
    LOL

But the accuracy advantage you're talking about is exactly why i'm very interested in the panther line
I have a lot of tanks that are marginal at sniping, and better suited for brawling (t-44, t-54, t32, t29)
Hell, i even brawl with my ISU-152 because I hate it's low accuracy at long ranges
The lowe might be a sniper, but it has so much armour that it might as well take a few hits for the team
I need a change of pace,
and the Panther just seems like the perfect line to go without going into arty

The accuracy isn't worth it. You do too little damage for what your fighting. Anything that see's you will run up to you and then face smash you. If you can stay in the back you get art in the face. The Panther to me feels like a jack of all trades but ace of none. A fern does better at what it can do. KT is better at brawlin. It doesn't have the speed to do much either which is what it was meant to do.
If I see a T44 I have to worry as it can zoom behind me and hit my soft spots. If I see a T23 I have to worry as it is a hard hitter. I see a Panther, I shoot anywhere and pretty much can pen it. I don't have to worry too much of damage either.

    I got a story for y'all

I think i ran into the best player ever.
    http://uc.worldoftanks.com/uc/accoun...8796-john1966/

This guy was on my team. We're playing on Prokhorovka and he was our top tier tank, a Lowe.
I'm in my ISU, but that doesn't really matter.
So, during the entire match, he sat on the tracks doing jack nothing.
Our push was getting picked apart and I told him to move forward.
He starts saying that it was his tank, and he gets to play it the way he wants.

Now i'm not one to judge, but this gave me a clue
I was starting to get the feeling that this guy was a jack wipe and a complete tard.

I call him a selfish twat and move to defend the falling flank
After I die, I go look up his stats. Holy shit. Now that's a wallet warrior. No experience,
complete lack of knowledge. Just a bunch of paid for tanks

    so,

our arty manages to clean up the rest of the enemy except for an M6 heavy and a M37 arty
john1966 spots the M6 in the village while on the tracks and starts to hide from it.
The M6 loops around to center, bypassing the Lowe and kills all our arty.
he manages to get set the M6 on fire and kill him afterward
So the match was tied with the Lowe and a lone M37 with 5 minutes left.

The Lowe, at 42% health, spots the M37 in the center
but instead of taking a kill shot, he runs behind a building and hides
after the M37 fires another shot, the genius decides to high tail it down road.

The battle ends in a draw. WTF dude

  10. #810
I like how he owns both KV-5 and Lowe.

I'm not going to bash people for doing that.

They fund both the game and my next tank!

Edit: Isn't the M37 that little American arty that looks like a shoe box?

  12. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #812
oh, i'm not bashing him for paying for tanks
    I have a Lowe, a M6A2E1, and a Ram II myself
    rather
i'm bashing him for being a retarded team mate
that isn't willing to learn or listen to advice because of the
    "my tank, my rules" mindset
and if you have THAT many battles under your belt
and don't know what to fear or not fear
then you suck and should be given the idiot stamp

and yeah, M37 is the shoebox.
the M7 is the bigger shoebox

  13. #813
    So...

I had a few games that felt weird to me. Like, failing to frontally penetrate an IS and a KV-3 with the 88 L/71...

Also, where should I aim to penetrate IS-4s? I've heard rumors of hitting the "V", but that might be on an IS-3, as I can't find one on the IS-4...

I think the IS-4 was the drivers hatch. Although that might have been the IS-7.

Drivers hatch is still fair game on the IS-4 but it's a bit hard to hit, especially if the guy knows you are aiming for it.

Also don't be suprised by the KV-3 bouncing everything frontally, that thing is insanely sloped at certain places and it gives trouble to most T8 guns to penetrate it, same with the second turret really. I really think that most of the crying about the short 88 being broken comes from the KV-3 bouncing all but the luckiest of shots and being quite a common target for tanks that use the short 88 you can easily see why would people complain of its brokenness whne really all the gun could do with is a minor pen buff and perhaps some more accuracy/ROF while the KV-3 hops off to T7.
And the mantis shrimp said "Let there be light!"

IS-4 - drivers hatch at close range. At minimum range commanders cupola and peri. A rule of thumb for all tanks - hit lower frontal armor, driver machinegun and commanders cupola.

    Short 88?

No, I understand that. This is the LONG 88.

Like i said, the front is very sloped at certain places and it's very hard to hit that one strip of almost vertical armor where the drivers hatch and the machinegun port are located, hitting anywhere else will almost always result in a bounce regardless of the gun.

I can punch through the front of a KV-3's hull armour with my KV-13's 85mm. Sooo... I don't know. Its probably the same thing that happens when my shots bounce off a Vk3601 H. That thing is crafted in the heart of a dwarf star and runs on wizard power, I swear. Sometimes you just get unlucky and hit that one little bit of armour that is curved just enough to bounce your shots.

0.6.5 hits the russian server now. It has Patton, american TD line and two new maps.

And from what I see now, 0.6.6 will introduce new line of german heavies, alter german medium tree (E-50) and will not alter american heavy line. It will come to us somewhere end-July.

  25. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #825
    http://game.worldoftanks.com/in_development

I usually hit up this part of their website to figure out what's going on in the patches
6.6 will be doing a revamp of the German medium line as well as the heavy line.

Speaking of bounces. I have the BL-10 on my ISU
I've gotten bullshit bounces on random shit
like bounces of tigers, KV-1s turrets, bounce off a panzer 4 turret
Now the BL-10 is no slouch when it comes to penetration
so if i'm getting 'bullshit' bounces with this gun
I expect no less from the lower caliber guns.

I'm not exactly sure why people are having issues with the KV-3
I personally never had issues fighting it with the 100mm

Because you don't really need to be doing it?

Since there is a site that does all that for you, just feed it a certain file from WoT and it neatly gives you stats for all your tanks, and i suspect you did just that since the stuff is written in cyrillic in those images :P

Guys he's messing with you. He's not recording the game itself does it. He's just pulling the information from there.

Yea when targeting the IS 4 I always go for the bottom section. Less bounce and more pen. And if lucky you can damage their eng sometimes. How I target a tank:
Front; bottom section, if not available any spot that has a hatch, then drivers seat port and finally machine gun port.
Side; Back section close to the eng, better chance of setting them on fire, then middle section(some tanks have ammo there).
Back; Dead center as that is where sometimes an eng is. Or a little to the left or right of center.

This will get you good results. Of course the turret is only fair game if your up close and can hit the commanders seat. Or the sides of the turret. The back is just icing on the cake.

  30. #830
Look like we will have the patch tommorow/today

I'm not sure what you guys think is so outlandish about spending 30 seconds after each match recording stats into excel.
Agreed. Every game I go around making a log like this.

    Game 23 - T-34 - 4-7
    11:47 13096 2585 336 0
    Win
4-7 being the tier spread of the game, and the numbers being revenue/repairs/ammo/consumables.

Because I'm an asshole, I've come up with the following stats in all of my tanks (Except the Lowe, whose stats were contributed from other players in order to learn about its profitability over time)

    Code:
Average profit per game of VK3002(DB): 9346
Average profit per minute: 1557 credits

Watching a T34 and a Object 212 kill 3 IS-4s and a Lowe. The horror. The lack of situational awareness and balls. The horror.

Almost as bad as a GW Tiger deciding to shoot my poor defenceless KV-13 rather then the IS-4 or IS-3 about a meter behind me.

    Did I win?
    Yes: Woohoo!
    No: Damn you team!
    Draw: WTF?!

    There you go. All set.

I am still trying to fight out of my Lowe effect mentality when playing in my Lowe. It is very hard to do heh.

    Yay, patch.

Which means yay, tracers and yay, counterbattery.
American TD's have taken the backseat, I'm looking forward to the return of counterbattery the most.

Although it's absence has really made me wish for high tier scouts, the game really needs a backstabbing light tank in higher levels of play.

It's more like a russian dude is trying to do his worst impression of a stereotypical american accent, and the grammar is terrible in some cases (Enemy vehicle destroy) then there are some quite funny ones (Our gas tank is corrupt).I really don't know why they would go and change something like this, especially since the old voice dude was quite good and understandable.

Every one is trying out the new American TDs atm, so you will have lots of lovely T18s to get sniped by and rage at.

PS: The low tier turret less TDs are the cutest thing ever. I want to hug them and snug them and call them George!
