I just had my worst run as of date. Lost about 16 straight matches in my T29 and M6A2E1 (goddammit, i just want the doubles on them!)
It's those types of losses where you put up one hell of a fight, but you inevitably get overwhelmed and die
i also have 1.7 million EXP to convert. I am somewhat hesitant to toss that much money around though

The Tiger (P) from the stats looks like the Tiger but with 200mm front armour. And that's terrifying.

Porsche Tiger is the ultimate corner trolling tank, it can pretty much ding several BL-10 rounds when angled right!
I'm not fan of german tanks, but is this Tiger P a good farmer? 200mm frontal makes me think of getting it.
I compared the Tiger and Tiger P stats last night and I am dumbfounded as to why anyone (gameplay wise) would ever choose the Tiger over the Tiger P. This is more about balance than anything. From what I saw, the only thing Tiger had better was a starting engine and 5 tons less weight. But everything else on the Tiger P is the same or better!!!! Having 200 armor in tier 7 is huge in my opinion. It should be like the KV3 in tier 6. It has 120 armor and tier 6 guns usually cant penetrate it because they have around a 135 pen (are there any that are higher?). Back on Tiger P, when reviewing I thought surely they would limit gun selection since it got super armor. Nope, it still gets the 88 L71. This feels like another slap in the face of the Tiger.... Now I'm wondering why Germany didn't choose the Porsche version over the original when it only cost 5 extra tons.
Foxi and I did some testing, the 200 armour is...and oddity at best. We had hoped the full front was 200, but we kept getting the thought that the top part is less then 200, the bottom is far less, but the middle section does seem with the angle to be the 200 part. As well the corners seem to have nearly no armour what-so-ever, and the mantle is disturbingly weak, almost as if it had 0 armour there.. At the correct angle though that thing could be a monster.
The reason for choosing the normal Tiger for my understanding was that the Tiger P was insanely more expensive to make compared to the normal version. The angles and different folds made the cost double, as well as the internal had a different layout and such was harder to make then the normal one. All about easy of production, which may be an irony there somewhere.
Wiki states the requirement for copper was way higher as well as the engine was even less reliable then the normal Tiger's.

Also engine stuff i think, the P used that crazy Diesel-Electric combo that proved very expensive and difficult to make (something about lacking copper or whatnot).

Heh, I just reviewed Tiger and Elefant on Wiki too. Yeah, the main issues were too much copper demand and the engine design. In regards to the Elefant article, it appears that the 200mm was the 100mm chassis with 100mm bolt on. That means the devs added it to the Tiger P just to make it different.
About your testing, it's possible the Tiger P may have a lot of "holes" similar to the T29 ears from earlier. I'm curious to see what is being said on the WOT forums in comparison to the Tiger.
Well the prototypes had 100 mm armor, the only model that did see service had that modification and the 90 or so hulls that were left because production was cancelled were treated the same way and turned into ferdinands, so they have pretty much equal weakpoints on the front.

Yes. The M6 does get a gun that has 160mm penetration, and the KV-3 and KV both have guns with 167 penetration (KV3 can go up to 175mm penetration, but considering the 122mm and 100mm are both inferior guns otherwise, why?)It has 120 armor and tier 6 guns usually cant penetrate it because they have around a 135 pen (are there any that are higher?).
The thing about the KV-3 is that it not only has 120mm hull armor and 130mm turret armor, but that its sloped. My hull can occasionally bounce 88mm L/71 Tiger shots, and even my KV-3's 107mm has difficulty penetrating other KV-3s.

I just remembered that they intend to move KV3 to tier 7 and it was because of the armor situation. If the Tiger P only has 200mm on that relatively small area on the front hull then it won't be as big a deal. I still wonder if the tank is WAD since I'm hearing about armor holes in the E50 and E75 on the mudflaps.
By the way, when I am doing armor calculations, am I doing it right or should I add extra for slope benefits? For example, Panther has (per Wikipedia) 80mm of armor at 55 deg slope. My calculation is 80/sin(55) = 97mm. The problem is that I've always heard that it had better frontal armor than the Tiger. That only adds up if I need to compensate with something.
The effective armor may not be thicker but the slope greatly increases bounce chance, one of the reasons why the KV-3 is so freaking scary, it's not that thicky armored but those slopes just fuck up every decent shot you might have at penetrating it beyond a certain range where you can't reliably hit that smole strip of almost vertical front armor.

In reality the Panther Ausf. G (the one in WoT) had 82mm of frontal armor, at a slope of 55deg = 100mm effective armor; equal to the Tiger, as well as being sloped (as Jopax said).

Actually, that 'small strip' is also sloped, just not as well as the rest of the tank.
...and yes, the KV-3 is scary. I spent many days in it, racking up millions of credits (without premium, mind you) and thousands of EXP without even trying.
No more overpowered than the IS-4, and I bet it is going to get nerfed in the next patch since its a German tank.Declaring new overpowered tank.

It was already nerfed in Test 3, it still crushes an IS-4 in head to head combat.
The only thing it loses horribly to is a half competent VK4502B.
Let me guess, the E-75 was shooting at the weak points of the IS-4 but the IS-4 was not shooting the E-75's weakpoints.
Well since E-series is relatively new so it take time for other to find weakspots on them
60 battles for the new tank is too early to drive some conclusions. 300 battles a few months and patches later and time will tell.
So the first anniversary bonuses are quite nice, and i got the one week premium since i joined earlier
With this and the x5 xp for a few days i might even get all those new tanks

Well that would mean we got a "softwipe" after release; which devs already said it's not gonna happen. x5 event was a replacement for the long awaited softwipe.
They better damn well not do a soft wipe. They tinkered with my Lowe which they promised NOT to do and yet they expect me to be happy? MEH!
My bet is that it gets nerfed next patch.
What did they do to the Lowe besides raise cost?
Also, what is the KV requirement for getting the free slot in the Russian patch? I have researched the KV2 turret. Do I need to own it? Do I need it equipped?
I think it's just vehicle in the garage with the turret researched that you need to have.Also damn dillema now, do i buy a crapload of equipment for all my tanks (future and present) or do i save up to get those heavies faster and use the premium to get them researched faster :s
I'm no expert but i find loader jammer equipment very useful on all my tanks. -_- Simply put 90mm cannon has a speed of 7.62 i think and thats realllllllllly slow. However faster loading time = more shots off.

I'm halfway to both the KT and the T32, another dillemma, which tank to grind more now, god damn it so many freaking choices that i have no idea to do and the premium lasts only 7 days now!!!!

The T32, so that you can get yourself a T34 before it goes Premium faster.
I was thinking that too, but the KT is much more enjoyable stock, whereas the T32 needs atleast it's turret and tracks to be really fun.

T32 front is also very tough; however the KT is the best of all 4 tier VIII heavies.

Finally got the 90 for the M6, feels as great as I remembered it during the beta and seems to make that tank actually decent (and in the end I thought the T1 was pretty good too so there. :P ).
Just 30k short of the T32, if i get into full grind mode i might just have it tonight, luck has been serving me quite well today with some average 800-900 xp per battle.

Got the T32, my brain is very numb from all the grinding, but i'm afraid i am not finished just yet, now i need to get around 1 million credits to buy various equipement i need for my tanks, rammers, ventilation, stabilizires and the like :I

You don't have a T32 until you get the tracks and turret.
So enjoy that additional 35k exp of research to do to get the real tank :P
Yeah i realized that once i played a few games with it, it's going to be very painful indeed
I'm farming now with ISU-152, regularly it makes 20-30k after the expenses. Loss usually nears zero. Good combination of fun and farm.

But all that sexiness comes at the price of KV-3 like mobility, which is rather bad considering that you need to be mobile to stay alive and whatnot, taking its last engine really killed the tank.
Or maybe I should buy a T20. They say it is most profitable tier 7 medium. Hate the looks though.
