    Tyranid Mod: Animator needed

    Hey guys.

    Do you enjoy devouring the biomass of worlds? Do you psychically control swarms of bioengineered minion organisms? Are you an animator?

    THEN THE TYRANID MOD NEEDS YOU!

    See these sillhouettes? That's right, it's a gargoyle, and without someone's love and attention it will never fly and rain bio-plasma and fear down upon the heads of soon to be devoured populations across the galaxy.

    Do you really want to deprive that gargoyle of the chaos and fear it so richly deserves to cause? Do you?

    We need at least one committed animator to help us out. We have new models (both waiting to be animated, and still being created) as well as old ones that need a few final animations. If you think you're the guy for us, please visit our forum at tyranids.gameapollo.com and tell us how much we need you. Because we do. And you know it.

    Zaha, there's a mod called the Ultimate Apocalypse mod on the Mods in Progress Section. There's a modeler named Cosmorat over there. Check if he can or wants to help out.

    @Whiteshield: Like Cosmocrat has the time to do any of that. He's off in the university, and he already has the Tomb Stalker to worry about. Although, Cosmocrat is a good choice.

    "If the super weapons that tyranids in your mod are getting, are of your own creation and are not edits of existing material of this mod. Then it should be no problem, just wait for Zaha or Ministry to confirm. I do not think that allowing a no cap limit on the mods units is going to be an issue with the mod team, but again. They will reply as soon as one of them jumps back on this site im sure." -Harpu

    Zaha's last reply was "Okay, so it's just a race combiner, or does it tweak the mods in it as well?" It doesn't say he gave the GO! To add the tyranids.

    Not apart of the mod, no. But a requirement. If you think we have no go, then Corncobman has no go either.

    Ministry said, "I'm completely agreeing with what Harpu and Zaha have said. I want to emphasize that my primary concerns are that you do not alter or misrepresent our models. Especially these "super weapons" you mentioned; if they do not already exist as models."

    We do exactly that. Especially when not one Tyranid model will be a part of the mod. All we're editing is spbs and ebps files.

    Now, I believe Zaha is looking for animators, let's not get off topic.

    One would be Cosmocrat. Another would be Gr0rc. Cosmocrat might be a bit too busy though.

    Hey guys - would have been back sooner, but my computer's power supply seems to have... melted.

    Lessee, in order:
    Tyrant Guard: Additional micromanagement in a very micromanagement-heavy race. We didn't feel they brought enough usefulness to the player to be worth it, sorry. We're looking at bringing 4 new units (one is in the OP, the other three you'll have to guess) in to the game for the release after next though.

    Cosmocrat: If he's at university, it's probably going to wind up exactly like Kaveman and Robskib (also at university and consequently unable to animate for us). I'll ask though.

    Game-Artist.net: No, I had not. Will check it out.

    Whiteshield and that mod usage request you're talking about: Final decision was yes. Check the second page.

    Gr0rc: Will talk to him too.

    So... how 'bout that biomass, eh?

    Awesome news, I'm glad the Tyranid mod team is all or halfly back. (Definitely better than not at all.) Keep up the work for you guys rock!

    Biomass is a plus for me.

    Well I saw it in the UI folder's ingame icons. So is it true then? Would be bloody awesome if the Hive Tyrant had a command squad like the Broodlord except he has Tyrant Guard, not Genestealers.

    ...Whiteshield, I'm not sure how to put this.

    When I said "we're looking at bringing 4 new units", that was DIRECTLY AFTER I explicitly stated that we WEREN'T including Tyrant Guard. I'm not sure how I could have been clearer than saying "we didn't feel they brought enough usefulness to the player to be worth it".

    The only reason they have an icon is because our icon artist basically did one for every unit that was in the codex at the time so we wouldn't have to worry about not having an icon. Those icons are a few years old now.
