    Hey guys, some of you probably know me just as "That guy who bitches a lot" but surprisingly i also make simple 'mods' for lack of a better word for Dawn of War 2, now that the Retribution beta came out i got some shiny new toys to play with so i've decided to make an announcement here simply because i've seen a lot of people didn't like certain things in Retribution, at least one which i know was a surprise for everyone.

    All this mods are compatible with Ranked games, your opponent however will not see the difference unless he has the same mods:

    Chaos Rising Guardsmen:

    This mod simply replaces the Retribution guardsmen with the CR Guardsmen, ie only Guardsmen and Heavy Weapon teams are affected.

    I'm sure the lack of Freebooters in MP was a shock for everyone in the beta, this mod simply replaces the models and textures of the basic Orks of DoW II and CR with those of the Freebooters from Retribution.

    Edit: So as we all know Relic has added the Freebooters to MP too, well the difference between Relic's and this ones is pretty simple, this ones change the whole race, ie you cannot choose from basic orks or freebooters, second this ones are team colorable and third this one have rank unlock, Relic's start awesome looking, this ones get awesome looking as you rank up.

    This little mod gives the Plague Champion and Chaos Marines the blighted bolter by default, in other words, they always have that bolter. Enjoy

    Follow the first link for info on what the pack contains, download link and some other random stuff that might interest you if you like Tyranids, enjoy.

    Instalation is very simple, you simply download the .sga file and place it in your \GameAsset\Mods folder, if there's no Mods folder create it. This folders can be found under "Valve\Steam\steamapps\common\dawn of war ii - retribution beta\"

    All this mods are only compatible with Retribution and should continue to work once the full game comes out, they're not compatible in any way with DoW II and CR.     Hey Shuma, are the guardsmen in the replacement mod wearing their rank 60 armor, if so does it make the IG rank 60 overall, or is it just for the guardsmen?

    Yo, Shuma, since you're on a roll here, can I ask a simple change (for you, i believe it simple, hehehe)?

    A golden aquila on FC's chest, instead of that tiny uninspiring skull; maybe you could use the one in the Apoth's chest? And while you're on it, a simple cape - it pains me that Chaos Lord has one and FC doesn't ¬¬

    Question for shuma: Can we just replace the retri FC model with the vanilla ice FC model from CR, and use your helmet mods with that? Will the old models work with Retri at all if we add them to the data files and re-pack as an rb2?

    Strange idea. Helmet = no face. You already can use all CR helmetsin retribution. Just put to Mods folder and play. Why u're asking, if those games are same?

    Same for you. You can install CR mod, it will work normally. They haven't changed directory paths to old heroes. If changed, we'll see that.

    No that's rank 0 armor, their rank unlock gives them the Kasrkin mask, but not the targeter on their helmet.

    Sure, and all my stuff will be ported to Retribution in fact that armor you linked should still work and it replaces the rank 60 armor of the FC, ie Gabriel's armor. The Cape is something that's on hold too since it requires new animations, right now i have made one that works with the bolter animation of tactical marines and with the sword and gun combo of Assault Marines and the FC, but i still have to make new cape animations for the power fist before giving a permanent cape for the FC.

    But all that is on hold until i finish the Death Korps.

    You mean in a mod? Sure. The FC helmets are just broken when it comes to replacing the FC head for MP.

    I really like both portraits. Shuma, would you create the gas mask looking storm troopers and the blue visor-helmed stormies you posted earlier? I'd like to see some different stormtrooper types that we could add to different armies.

    @Shuma, so after retri comes out and we can mod it, I could replace FC babyface with the old vanilla ice FC, and all your excellent mods for his helmet and armor will still work, correct? Excellent. Then there really is no need to redo all the helmets, is there?

    You can already do that. And i'm not sure what Stormtroopers you're talking about, both in fluff and in the game there's only 2 kinds, Stormtroopers and Kasrkins.

    Request - since you've added the CR models for Cadian guard, and you already stated plans to do Krieg, would you mind giving us a few Chaos Traitor guard? Perhaps based on bloodpact or some other crazies? Or DoW2 versions of the cultists from dark crusade? I think a chaos traitor army with arch-heretic squad leaders would look awesome.

    Go to original topic, where you can find all mods for CR. Just put their SGA files to Mods folder, it can work, because paths to old files are not changed. So, you can install old helmet mods.

    Existor, I meant a chaos graphical conversion for IG. Not a remake of the heretic squad. Basically I was hoping for a traitor guard chaos cult with some brutal looking blood pact guys and some insane cultists. I'm interested to see what you and shuma come up with for artwork for a chaos regiment!

    You mean Chaos Imperial Guard? Oh, with that we're need to replace... more, than hunderd icons and portraits. And with my crappy DDS editor (in photoshop 64bit there are file-by-file only, I can't open more, than one file at one time).

    Yes, sounds cool, but me (and I think, Shuma too) creating those portraits/models for themselves. For me, many other icons are ok. But if you want, I can provide small tutorial about editing portraits, but later.

    Hey there, Shuma and Existor! Really great work you've done so far. Since I heard about your Kasrkin AND future Krieg mods I'm in some kind of dilemma, because I like them all (including Retribution Stormtroopers). I wanted to make four different appearances with the army painter based on Adeptus Mechanicus, Krieg, Cadian and the actual Retribution design.

    Is it somehow possible that the models are changing with the different styles? Maybe you could do something (I've got not idea how the modding works with Retribution) like you get these models if you name your Army Style like this (I name it Mechanicus and get the standard models for instant).

    There must be some possibility for this. This would advance the style modding to a whole new level.

    Rank 60? Awww... I wanted something for level 0 FC... i'm not good enough for ranked games... not in dow 2 - i kicked my share of ass in dow 1, tho

    Yes, but maybe you could somehow link different model appearances to different styles from the Army Painter. So there would be different models for one unit but these were only activated when selecting a certain style from the Army Painter.

    Unfortunately no, that cannot be done. As far as i know we cannot even add new races unless you replaced some of the existing ones. Only hope for what you want is that if Relic ever implements the ability to choose your rank unlocks in the army painter then i could for example make the rank 60 unlock be the Death Korps and rank 30 be Catachans and rank 0 Cadians, then you could literally choose different skins for your army but again, it's not something we can do now.

    Well, we had the Army Painter and now we can add custom badges to different army styles. Maybe, if Relic is cooperative, we get custom unit models we can add to different army styles.

    And there is really no chance by now to link an army style to custom models?
