Double freaking Handsome Dragons guys, they are awesome
And the mantis shrimp said "Let there be light!"

I Will Possess Your Heart by Death Cab for Cutie
Has a crazy 4 minute long intro which is easily one of the best things to listen to while chilling out.

Ok so.. two songs of rather different character that has been on repeat the last weeks:
M83 - Raconte moi un historie
Ephrem Tamiru - Anchi Nesh Gelaye (i think.. )
The last one i found on this absolutely wonderful blog: Awesome tapes from Africa. There are tons upon tons of music treasure to be found.. i prefer ethiopian music myself since they are so deliciously quirky but there's probably something for everyone there.

That M83 track is odd...reminds me of a lot of stuff going around at the moment starting with that Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti album (still a terrible band name).
Have heard of awesome tapes of africa but never dug in, will do.
Anyone else remember this?

Oh and just heard this, and it's one of the most beautiful and melancholic things I've heard all year, caution odd though and maybe blongs in electronic music thread but not sure...

I am Kloot are criminally underappreciated, but they are amazing, even if I, seemingly like the paying public, keep forgetting they exist

It's December, and that means it's time for some Christmas music. Here's one of my favourites, and one I expect quite few will have heard: Mitt hjerte alltid vanker is an old Norwegian traditional tune and a Christmas hymnal. It's one of my all-time favourite Christmas songs, just on the strength of its melody. Simple but beautiful.
Winter is coming.

Some Animals as Leaders. Two eight string guitarists and a drummer.
Thanks Akra for the Epic Score and Skyrim stuff. And Danustar for the The Damned Things that was pretty funny.
There we were, ready to charge the loyalist scum, and then suddenly we were under fire from our west flank. Batshit mental. We turn to return fire, and somehow they sneaked a bunker in, right next to us! We didn't have any meltas so we got the hell out of there. CREEEEED!
Today I have for your consideration an oldie but good, that I had actually forgotten about until I heard it on the radio recently. I have two versions since I couldn't decide whether I liked the studio version or the live version from Woodstock better. The vocal/instrumental balance is a bit different between the two versions, but both are excellent in their own ways.
A unique version of Acapella native to Dalmatia, this particular piece goes on about the healing powers of the sea (this is a very bad way to describe it but I can't think of anything else right now), quite soothing.
