On a recent bender of that slightly maligned 90s genre of trip hop recently
Swing? *check*
Metal? *check*
Awesome vocals? *check*
I do love crazy genre mish-mash, and sometimes it just goes beyond the two genres into something even more awesome:

Not really a fan of the Arctic Monkeys and spin offs as such but this song is lovely (as is the rest of the ost for Submarine, an excellent film)
Finally back on the music forum after a long while of not really being here.
Lok that song is awesome. Hard to imagine one of the Guys from To Steps from Hell can make a song that sounds like that :P

"Celtic fans right now sit in silence and watch, and hope that the damage doesn't get any worse from this Graham Carey free kick. Away by Wilson. Teale. Still options waiting in the middle for St. Mirren...OH, AND THEY HAVE ANOTHER ONE! It's stunning! It's absolutely stunning at Hampden park! And it's Steven Thompson, who scores his thirteenth goal of the season, and that might just be the goal that takes St. Mirren into the league cup final!" - 27/01/2013

This song is so beautiful. Such a great blend of mellowness and hope (and its orchestrated)
To Build A Home -The Cinematic Orchestra (I'm 99% certain that parts of this song were also used in the show Awake)

So Linkin Parks new album 'Living Things' is actually really good which was a pleasant surprise as id thought that their past two albums were not that great xD (thousand suns was only good if you listened from start to finish without shuffle on, and Minutes to Midnight had only 2-3 songs that were good in my view) To me the entire album seems like they took a lot of the good parts of their previous two albums and flowed with them. As much as id love for LP to go back to their more hardcore days (so Hybrid Theory or Metora style) i know they have said they arent, so its atleast nice to hear that they can still make music i can listen to in my car without having to bare listening to the entire album through (which i rarely do :P )
Linkin Park - I'll be Gone (Probably my favorite song so far, it has a New Divide/ What i've done sort of vibe)
Also Castle of Glass and Lost in the Echo are also really really good.

Dirty Projectors have always somewhat been vulnerable to accusations of being all brain and no heart but think they've found a great balance on at least this single from the new album, love it
Ah Lok, you also rule. Don't think the new album is as good as A Thousand Suns (I'm an album listener who views music listening as an activity, same as TV watching or book reading), but it's still pretty great.
That's a very clever rhythm section.

New Flying Lotus! (ok that only excites me, should really be in electronic thread but this one needs a bit of a bump)
I think this song just needs to be mentioned for its 'Epic' Dancing and the facial expression at 1:55-2:02 (and its quite catchy : / )
Gangnam Style - Psy

I laughed when lennon got shot!
The best part of Snow White and then Huntsman. Been listening to Florence + Machine a lot lately, which is odd, as it is not my usual fare.
There we were, ready to charge the loyalist scum, and then suddenly we were under fire from our west flank. Batshit mental. We turn to return fire, and somehow they sneaked a bunker in, right next to us! We didn't have any meltas so we got the hell out of there. CREEEEED!

Lindsey Stirling has a new album out. I just love her energetic and varied violin work. As a sample I suggest Electric Daisy Violin.
Winter is coming.
Wait.. Lindsey Stirling has an album?! *Goes to find it* I've listened to quite a few of her songs on youtube over the past couple of months and they are all quite amazing.
Anywho.
New Mumford and Sons album is also out
