Very nice work indeed. Would be fun to use them with my propagandacast although so far no luck using the skininstaller..

Dane, I recommend NOT using the skininstaller untill v2.700 is released. Changed archives prevent patching.
#53
Too late, but as i said, nothing happened and i saved the originals. Thanks for the warning though![]()
#54
Good to know that you back-upped. By the way when the patch is released I'll help you getting them to work.
#55
Well i might be new at this but i do know not to rush into this without a bit of thought :P And most appreciative of your offer for help![]()
Hey I really enjoy using your skinpack! but can you switch grenadier's boots with stormtrooper's or is it not possible at all?
#58
Yes of course, skins always work no matter what version you have.
and wich skin installer can i use? or is there any working one for windows 7?
#60
If the current skininstaller doesn't work then there's no other.
I just took out my old (modded) .art file, replaced it with the original when I applied the patch. After the patch, I overwrite the new art file with the old one. Worked fine![]()
Skininstaller worked fine for me after patching to 2.602. Win7 64Bit.

Skininstaller doesn't quite work for me either..
#65
Tell me what you put as directories, or post a screenshot of it.
I can't seem to get the skins to install either.
Does the installer no longer work?
Other than backing up my WW2Art.sga file, do I need to change anything else? Or just run the skin installer? Thanks for any help!
Here is a screenshot of the path I tried:

That's pretty much the exact same thing of what i do actually.
However- when using the skininstaller to install these babies, it appears that rolevariation is not working... A the voks and grenadiers have the same respective uniforms- no variation within the units. Does anyone know how this deal with this?
Sweet got them working. They look fantastic, I can't wait for the Brits and PE!![]()

Any details on how you got them to work ?
Tbh, it was not an ideal fix by any means. I own a very old copy of CoH (bought it the day it came out) and I have no idea if that affected anything but I could not change the skins for the life of me. So what I ended up doing was uninstalling CoH and actually purchasing it on Steam (I figured I loved CoH enough to give Relic some more money haha) and then tried modding my steam version. It worked like a charm. However, I still have no idea why I couldn't change my original copy, maybe reinstalling will help? However, that's a lot of time, especially updating all of the patches. Good luck and sorry I can't help more!
Edit: If you want I could upload my WW2Art.data (I think that's what it's called) file. Then all you'd have to do is backup your original and paste mine over yours and you'd have the exact skins I'm using. (all vehicles by GnigruH, Wehr and US inf by Halftrack [ofc], PE inf by Spaulick and flag pack by Slayerknecht).
Edit 2: Quoting CptJericho from GR.org, "Thanks for the links. Final edit, got it to work, had to run as admin... darn windows 7." Maybe that'll help.

Spoilers are working fine for me. Not heard anyone else flag up problems with them either. Clear your cookies and try with a different web browser.
thanks is probably from using mozila fire fox it like ruins my web browser lol
#76
Well i am still trying to get it to work :P Suspect it's something with admin rights and overwrite protection.. But question is if i have to ensure that every single bit is such or what.
What happened to Halftrack? Another great modder bite the dust?
Shame that we never got the rest of the factions with the updated HT treatment![]()
#78
No, he's around. His personal life is eating all his time at the moment, but he's working on an update for BotB; and I bet after that more releases of new models and skins.
Hey, I got the skins working but model-mixing doesn't work. I installed my skins like this: 1: Historical Skin Mod 2: Xalibur Tank Skins 3: Halftracks Infantry Skins.
Any ideas where it might have gone wrong? (Btw: I didn't used the module file of HSM because it was said in the topic that you'd get Sync error.)
So once i make a copy of my clean WW2Art.sga file do i just paste it over the Skininstaller one to patch COH when another patch comes out or what?
#81
Yep, that's pretty much it Agent. When the next patch comes out, paste your backup copy of the WW2Art.sga over the modified one, then run the patch. After you've run the patch, you'll have to make a new backup copy of the WW2Art.sga file as it's bound to have been patched with the last patch, then run the SkinInstaller again to reinstall your skinpack.
Personally i find it easier to just turn my private skinpack into a .sga file and add that .sga file in the .module file, under [data:common:01]. But thats a tad more difficult than just running the SkinInstaller.
Thanks Lethal, I was also wondering what Halftrack was referring to when he said all you have to do is unzip the file into the mod/ww2 folder?
EDIT: Also I was wondering if there was a simple but quicker alternative to using skin-installer? I don't think skin-installer works with my new windows 7 and also I'm not good with this skin stuff![]()

It does work with Windows 7. I have it myself and i used skin-installer a few times.
Mine always says "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue , the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately. The system cannot find the file specified.

What file? it might be that your directing the SkinInstaller to the wrong location.
The first field (CoH Location) needs to be directed to your main CoH folder, it's somewhere like Program Files/THQ/Company of Heroes/.
The second field (Skin Location) needs to be directed to where ever you've extracted the skinpack to. You can't direct it to the .zip or .rar archive file, you must extract it into a folder somewhere. The skinpack or skin files need to be in the correct CoH folder structure, when browsing for it, you need to open the Data folder (so you can see the Art folder) before clicking Ok.
To those of you having troubles installing: try running the skininstaller as administrator, as you might get problems otherwise. (Even though it seems to work- you get an error message in the end.)
Well it also mentions something about enabling JIT.
Hi halftrack,i have problem with the volks verry odd problem, they load normaly in game and everything is fine until i zoom out and when i zoom in they dont have hands and facesand it stays that way to the end of the game,i have never faced such but before and that is why i cant fix it by my onw, please help me
