In the back of my mind.
There's so much you can do in the Mod Studio, and much of it you will learn yourself over time. I'm afraid there isn't a complete guide to everything that can be done in the Mod Studio. In the Armoury there is the How To section, which contains many tutorials explaining how to do things. The Grand How To is a great place to start, it covers the things you have to do before you can play your mod for the first time, as well as many things that first-time modders want to do. It doesn't cover everything though, and there aren't tutorials for everything either.

If there's something you want to make or change in the game, i suggest you start with using the Search feature in the How To section to find a thread on it, and use very general terms in the search too, don't be specific, otherwise the Search function isn't likely to find any results. If searching the How To section doesn't help, try searching the Armoury section as well, if that doesn't turn up anything, just create a new thread in the Armoury asking for help, and try tobe as clear as possible explaining what your trying to do.

Most of us started modding this game by setting up the Mod Studio and seeing what a certain change did ingame. We encourage people to try things and learn for themselves first before asking for help, as well as search for tutorials or related threads before starting a new one. That said, we all encounter problems that we can't solve and can't find threads about, so don't be shy about asking for help. "There is no dumb question, except for the question that isn't asked" is quite true, so please do ask if you can't work something out or find a thread for it.

In a state of perpetual confusion.
I'll move this over to The Armoury, that's the best place for it.

Unless you want to animate stuff, you do not need the OE. I also do not recommend you starting with it untill you got the ModStudio figured. I also recommend you not to start with making a new army. Simply because this is too complicated to start with and it will most likely ruin your will to mod CoH. We've had many members come and go because they were too ambitious in the beginning and that simply ruined their will.

If you launch the ModStudio, then click New Mod, give it a name and set it to be for CoH/OF. The ModStudio will automaticly create the required module and modfolder in your main CoH directory (C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\). If you run v2.400 or higher for CoH then you need to update your module and do several other things, which is explained in The Grand How-To.

Then when you got this working you should start off making some small changes like making a new squad and/or ability. The Grand How-To also covers this part to the detail.

Slowly start to learn modding by doing small stuff and learn how the files work and how they are linked together. Most people see or play a mod and they like it and want to make something simular, but don't realize it's not something you can do or learn in an afternoon, it's a progress of weeks, months (and even years) to get as far as the big mods that are around.

Learning is a progress and it's something you'll have to do yourself and we encourage people to play around with the files, to get an idea what is possible and what isn't. If something doesn't work, try again and see if it works. Trial and Error are a key to learn the basics of modding.

and one of the things was swapping gunner and jeep.
    but no success.

and with the faction, I have also dabbled with.
but I strap it is not finished.

There is no hidden filter. All the files you see in Corsix are from the game's archives (.sga in Company of Heroes/WW2). We are not entirely sure what you want to do?

I've tried a little with corsix modification studio.
and one of the things was swapping gunner and jeep.
Ok so what did you try to do? change the gunner for a different soldier?
Or try to take off the gunner?

You mean that your Modfolder doesn't show up? Which OS do you use? XP/Vista/7?

In your CoH directory, check for a compatibility folder in the menu bar at the top.

You don't need the object editor unless you're planning to import and animate completely new models.

Which you should not be planning untill you learn to use the ModStudio well. The files not showing up is probably because you have UAC enabled (User Account Controll) in Windows 7. Please disable this. Then go to your main CoH directory and look for the Compatibility folder as I explained above.
