    [MOD] Armaments of War, a Dawn of War 2 Retribution modification advertisement thread

    From the Dark Cabal of DoW2.info and Shuma's wargear room, i'm pleased to bring you Armaments of War. This Dawn of War 2 Retribution modification allows you customize the looks of your armies by choosing which rank unlocks, weapons, armor and helmets appear on your army.

    This .zip file includes the default wargear from the game including armor, helmets and weapons, and it also includes the Black Templar Pack and Death Korps of Krieg pack made by me, and THJT's crimson fists retexture pack and codex astartes veterans pack.

    I knew I had seen that Black Templar model in the pictures before, and now I know why I was having such a moment of Deja vu wondering what community models were doing in so called (at the time) Relic DLC. Congrats on making 110% distilled awesome, as declared by the Emperor himself.

    So I was right to suspect THJT-9... but I somehow missed Shuma's involvement! He was right there the whole time too... like a serial killer who likes to show up at crime scenes and "help" the investigators. One day, Shuma, you shall pay for your deception! *shakes fist*

    But in all seriousness, mad props for this. It's amazing how many people thought this was real... err, Relic's doing.

    Actually, all this stuff was scratch built for this, you see i was just there making the Death Korps of Krieg when the dark cabal of DoW2.info approached me and asked me if i wanted in on their magnificent yearly scheme to troll the Dawn of War 2 community, so i couldn't resist, in fact they simply asked me if i could make something akin to a skin pack and i chose the Black Templars because i remember that they won the popularity contest Relic hosted some months ago, i had to work like crazy to get this guys done in time since i had not even finished the death korps when i was asked to do this. In fact, the Black Templar pack is not finished, i suggest you take a long journey to the modding forums since i always put more info in those threads.

    Indeed, i was there sowing dissent and confusion in the community, it was pretty fun. If only you had meddling kids and a dog you might have caught me. And thanks, i was also surprised how many people thought it was real, even thought some(Sportyyyyyyyyy!!!) saw through the deception the moment it was posted. When Relic revealed the Dark Angels i almost had an aneurysm thought, for a moment i thought i had somehow been caught in a devilish Canadian scheme. But alas, it turns out that we've managed to make Black Templars and Dark Angels fans happy, which is cool, because medieval knights in space are always cool.

    Not to throw a wet blanket on the discussion but I just played a game and found a couple of issues (I say issues because I don't know if they're behaving as intended, but they're odd). Shuma, did you want me to report them here, private message or the other titantic addon thread?

    there are some known issues with the mod:

    Headless Chaos lord if you use the immortal armor piece, you should put on a Eliphas head
    Nobs with cutlass has some animation issues with the way they hold it
    Theres a piece of power armor for SM thats made for assault marines only, so there are floating bits on other units

    if u find errors thats not in Shuma/THJT's folders i can help troubleshoot

    The issues that I've found all have to do with the rank unlocks for the IG vehicles:

    Leman Russ Rank 60 extra parts (dozer blade, etc) vanish from the tank when the camera zooms out at maximum level. Zooming in just a little bit causes them to reappear. As far as I can tell this does not happen for Chimeras or Baneblades. (Still haven't tested Sents or Mants) I suspect the reason for this is the same as Eliphas losing his head.

    The area where the company emblem is displayed on Leman Russes and Baneblades is a White/Red diamond. While my emblem appears on top of this diamond, the number '31' appears beneath that as though there are two separate badges stacked.

    I'll do some more thorough testing through the day tomorrow and update this post. Side note, the Templars mod makes the Artificer's Armor Captain in Last stand look BADASS.

    Nah, the problem with Eliphas's head is because the immortal armor model does't have one, it's just the chest piece. As for the vehicle thing, are you playing with ultra settings? That may or may not solve the problem.

    Edit:

    Oh and just FYI, that artificer armor which is the commander's armor(the one diomedes wears in the campaign and the rank 50something unlock) is just a placeholder, i had to rush that one and Gabriel's and the terminator (shitty)"armor" to meet the deadline, the commander armor will be replaced with... Well, pretty much this:



    And the rank 60 armor will be, no clue, but something flashy, Terminators will get loincloths and vehicles will also get a treatment along with weapons and all those other rank unlocks that marines get like purity seals and shiny bits, in other words, this is just a preview. Updates will be posted in my thread in the modding forum so if you want to keep up with it you can visit it from time to time to check on updates, there's already a picture there of the wip model for the black templar terminator.

    I got rushed on my last post so I forgot to ask: I don't suppose we could get a model for that particular powersword (in that picture on post #18) added to the game? Or are weapon models handled differently from unit models when it comes to replacements?

    (On that note, slightly off topic: Is there any way to replace the shotgun models with something...different? To me they look really...meh.)

    Yeah the FC will get that sword as his final sword rank unlock, which i believe is unique to him. As for the Shotguns, well it would be possible, but i honestly don't feel like doing new shotguns Besides, that's how they're supposed to look iirc.

    @Arad-Not currently, I've no idea why this is happening, as it shouldn't be the badge layouts weren't touched-we have no idea how to anyway, and it didn't do it for me. I will look into it.

    EDIT: @Azariah: Yes the mod will work with relic's dlc, as for the dlc to work the way we believe, they'll have to call it something other than the same names as the files for the marines-therefore whatever they do to overwrite the skins on the dark angels, will over write our skins from the mod, when using dark angels. In short-I see no reason why the wouldn't be compatible.

    little question to the mod
    i dont have my game installed anyway but when i put all sga's into the mod folder will my custom armypainter find more weapons etc...etc...?
    or will my game or something crashing if i put too much stuff into it?

    i hope you know what i mean thjt xD my english is getting down>.<

    and have seen that shumas b-templars are not fully finished will the mod get updates and stuff?

    Well the Thousand Sons are my favorite Legion too, so i'm sure they'll pop up eventually. But seriously, you don't have to seduce me to do it, i mean, we haven't even gone on a dinner.

    I do not understand how to get this mod working... like you say not to use the somthing that changes the same model twice... so dose that mean the helment mods do not work with anything else? Also I do not have the custimoise unit option likew in the steam screenshot...

    The sm bolter file changes all bolters for sm, so if you have the epic bolter for tactical marines, the scouts will have the same. Nothing we can do about that without getting rid of Multiplayer compatibilty. However I think (not 100% sure on this) the apoth uses a different bolter model, so you may be able to use a different one for him-as aI said not sure about that one though.

    can i put like a epic bolt pistol...a sword and the axe into the folder?
    or like the weapons from the scouts...the epic bolter...a shotgun and a sniperrifle...can i use all epic models for them???
    cause i will try to change all the weapons for my dudes in skimirsh but just 1 weapon will be replaced right?

    u can put any SGA into the mods folder, as long as you dont include 2 SGA of the same folder, so you can do epic bolter/shotgun/sniper, just grab 1 file from each folder

    u cant really kill your computer if you do say include RareBolter and EpicBolter at the same time, it just wont load both, so the best practice is to just put in the SGAs u do want... again, 1 SGA from each sub folder and you should be fine

    Lets say for example I'm using Black Templars mod pack.

    I can also modify the helmets on the Black Templars to suit what I want, by pulling a file from a different folder.

    So lets say I got the Force Commander from Chaos Rising, and put him in the mods folder, and from the same folder I got that Force Commander, I pull out a Diomedes head, they'll conflict and neither will load.
    However, if I were to go a pull a Force Commander from Chaos Rising, then from a different folder get Gabriel Angelos's armour, I can use both.
    Just approach your customization in that fashion. If there's two things from the same folder(Or sub-folder) DON'T use both. However if there's two things from different folders(Or sub-folders) you CAN use both.

    Another example:

    In my Ork Weapons folder I've got 3 folders:

    Nob Choppa, Huge Choppa, and Choppa.

    In my Nob Choppa folder I've got two files. One for a Cutlass Choppa and one for an Epic Choppa. I can't use both as they'll conflict.

    However, in my Huge Choppa Folder there's one file(Huge Choppa Rare).

    I can use Cutlass Choppa and Huge Choppa Rare at the same time, but not Cutlass Choppa and Epic Choppa at the same time, and I can use Epic Choppa and Huge Choppa Rare at the same time.

    Get it?
