    Soul Resource collection by AI = super slow! Please help fix

    Hi all,


    For some reason Soul Resource collection by the AI is really slow. I've made Soul resource more important in DoWpro for DE and the slow gathering rate really hampers the AI.

    Has anyone found a way to make the AI gather at the normal rate players do ?

    Doesn't the ai use abilities regardless of soul resource or not?
    Anyways there is no way to manually set the ai to capture souls at a normal rate for some reason (Just like they glitch on and off by repairing vehicles.) But you could give the ai a sort of cheat like a hidden research that only the ai can select and research. How? Use the no_button child, and set that to true. Now the player won't use it. By the way when I say cheat I meant modifier to actually increase the capture rate of souls from a range of 0 - I think 9000

    Next step, add that research to the ai Dynamic Research or direct build order strategy and BAM!

    I can't seem to make a research/ability/addon that increases the soul income or harvest speed :S

    How about having the research give a soul ressource bonus and regulating income via the research time? Or is that not possible either?

    Oh good lord oh merci.

    Ok mr. Korbah, step 1!

    1. data/attrib/research/example.lua <- create that by making a copy of a research.
    2. Remove all modifiers from "example.lua"
    3. Add modifier "cannibilize_souls_modifier" to the modifier child within the modifier section.
    4. Add its parameters.
    5. Remove requirements, all of it. (optional but you better)
    6. Set cost (optional)
    7. Add the "no_button" child (by pasting into) the "ui_info" column.
    8. Set the "no_button" child state to true.
    9. save file and close.
    10. Add research to structure (any).
    11. Open that ai race and type in the research into build order strategy or build base strategy.

    Do you still have trouble?

    Heh, that's what I'm doing for my mod in a "special" event.

    I've tried cannibilize souls modifier with no effect - it didn't make any difference to player or AI harvest speed

    Appreciate the little guide there - I know how to make the research etc. I just can't make the modifiers work to actually affect soul harvesting rate or to grant a fixed soul income.

    What way are you applying the modifier?

    Try setting it to apply to player and multiplication.

    I'll give that a go tonight. I've tried application to entity_type and iirc have tried player but I'll retest.

    Yay it works....needed a x50 modifier to actually notice any difference tho lol!

    used cannibilize_souls_modifier applied to player with x50 modifier. I'd previously used a x10 modifier and not noticed any difference which is why I thought it didn't work.

    Oh, your welcome. I just noticed something today though...

    The no_button child... yeah it doesn't work for research with me, wtf??? How did you solve this Korbah?
