Yes, Tiger will be on one side and F2 on the other side in the same doctrine. F2 will obviously be weaker, but you'll be able to call in more of if. And don't worry, Britons will have stuff to counter these with. Also I know that this is a ausf J actualy, posted this as everyone wanted to see it, will post proper F1 and F2 when I'm done fidling with Elis panzer package.

EDIT moved the pic from last page to here.

Just so you know, the Panzer IV Variants package has a commander, too.

    Edit
Nevermind, you posted about it twice.

    question
Why isn't tactical numbering on the tanks turret (according to a corps /5th LeichteDiv., 10th, 15th and 21st PzDiv., 501th and 504th sPzAbt., .../).

Because all the tanks would have the same numbers and that Halftrack didnt add the numbers :P

Ok, but shows on the picture and on this..
    http://www.themworkshop.com/mstudio/...ger731_002.jpg
.. for the Tigers in Tunisia, wrote onto the side of the turret, not back.
Is not so because of the mirroring? I think.

The sides are mirrored and if you add numbers on one side it will look backwards on the other, so better have no at all.

  10. #160
Also the numbers are specific to a tank, not a unit, so it looks odd to historical purists. In the 3 digit system, the first number is the company, second number is the platoon, third number is the tank. 731 is the 1st tank (Platoon commander) of the 3rd platoon of the 7th company. Since heavy tank battalions didn't have that many companies, I'm guessing that company was one of the few attached to a lucky panzer division, and companies one to six were the regular medium tanks of the division (one to three being in the first battalion and four to six in the second).

Is it like the ace's are grouped in the lucky company?

They're the lucky company because unlike all the other units, they have heavy armor attached to them. So while all the other units are only light & medium tanks, these guys are light, medium & heavy, so they are better able to fight.

  16. #166
    Lucky division, actually.
I wasn't aware of an Afrikakorps division that had a permanent heavy tank company in its Panzer regiment; all of the ones I knew of were on the Eastern Front, specifically Grossdeutschland and a few SS divisions like Totenkopf.

Proper, updated Panzer 4 ausf F1 and F2

Thx Eliw00d and Dmz for the models, and Halftrack for the texture.

Also little update on the HE lobbing ability for the F1.

The ability works like Pe's Incindiary barrage, lobs a few shells and then need to wait for the ability to recharge itself, go back to hq for insta rearm or have a munitions halftrack nearby. The munition halftrack will be the SdKfz 252, wip shots here

i just find the HQ brit "ugly".

but , i'm not sur , in North Afrika the Brit's aren't mobile . And for change if they have HQ like US (without star on building and have Brit flag ) ?

    it was just a question.

can't wait to see Brit w.i.p.

IDK, don't you think it'd look a little out of place to see a wooden house in the desert? :P
Actually, I'm sure they'll have brick and industrial HQ's for these maps, but anyways, the trucks don't look out of place. I'm sure it'll turn out just fine, it kind of matches the forward HQ style to me.

Yep, like ChickenNuggets said, the trucks fit much better than any building ever will, dunno what I'm going to do about the Axis hq though, was thinking of a Opel Blitz Radio truck, that works the same way Briton hq does.

  28. #178
Perhaps one team could use trucks, possibly the axis side to reflect their mobility and then the Brits could use tents, i.e HQ Tent, Barracks tent etc.

This would give both factions something that fits in with the desert environment but allow them to stay different from each other.

Just my idea. Keep up the good work Aidas.

We're aware of these buildings and going to build them the same way. And sure, search for the map.

  31. #181
It looks like these buildings are already ingame, can they be used or are they ripped from any other game?

@Aidas2 - Good to see you coming along mate!

Will you be reskinning the British Trucks to give them a desert look?

Also, not to be a pest as I know we have enough of them on the ET44 thread, but how're things going content wise?

I've heard that the brit trucks are impossible to retexture. If so, don't think that some green will kill anyone. Haven't tried though, very low priority atm.

As for content, check moddb or wait till I post the news article here.

Over the deadly sea of the North African plain, the dust began to settle and a sudden roar of thunder was heard as the ground began to tremble when the armies of two strong and powerful nations prepared to face each other in the heat and sorrow of North Afrika.

As our first official news post, we would like to formally thank you all for the massive support we have had over the past few months in relation to the images we have released, we are glad that you all enjoyed them and will enjoy everything to come.

Today we would like to officially show you some of the many new units we have created for both the British and German forces.

Firstly, we would like to show you the backbone of the Afrika Korps armoured Divison, the Panzer III.

Feared by the Desert Rats for its ferocity and overall battle capability, the Panzer III is an icon of German engineering.
Model by Aidas2, Texture by Adiya.

Secondly, backbone of the British armor divisions.

    Crusader Mk I/II

Forming the backbone of the British Armoured Divison, with outstanding speed and renowned for its flanking capability, the Crusader Mk1 was the bane of any Infantry attack.
Model by Aidas2, Texture by Chopin.

    Crusader Mk III

Serving as an Upgrade for the Crusdar Mk I/II, the Mk III is almost a mirrored tank of the Mk I/II. Similar speed yet a much improved firepower, the Mk III was feared by the Afrika Korps for its ferocious attitude on the field of combat.
Model by Aidas2, Texture by Chopin.

    Matilda Mk II

Commonly refered to as the Queen of the Desert, the Matilda was a thorn in Rommels side during the early Africa camaign.
Model by Aidas2, Texture by Chopin.

Last, but not least, we have the feared artillery guns of the British forces.

    6 Pounder Anti Tank Gun

Not as big as some of its brothers, but this everyday gun could punch a hole through any German armour. Favoured by the British for its reliability and manouverability on the battlefield.
    Texture by Asureka.

    17/25 Pounder Anti Tank Gun

Rushed into North Africa to counter the fearsome Tiger, mounted on a modified 25 Pounder carriage meant that it looses it's mobility, but supreme firepower makes up for it.
Model Mix by Eliwood, Texture by Asureka.

    25 Pounder Howitzer

Accurate and powerful sums up the 25 Pounder. A barrage of these can either destroy or severly halt an Arifka Korps Advance!
    Texture by Asureka.

Thats all we have for you this time, but we will continue to update the Image gallery with brand new skins and models as we get them, and would like to extend our gracious thank you for the support we have gained, it truly does mean a lot to us all, and gives us the striving motion to continue work on this mod.

    Until next time,

    Afrika Korps Development Team
