    Announcing you the North Africa Theater mod for Company Of Heroes. Company Of heroes: Afrika is a Total Conversation mod, that will bring North Africa to your game. Afrika mod will take you from the beaches and hedges of Normandy to the dreaded sands of North Africa. The mod not only brings in new environments, models and textures but also bug fixes, revamped weapons system to suit open desert warfare and a completely different, open desert tactics, where two world class generals clash together in an unforgiving battle over teritory and resources, who will win?

    Actually, I just tested it on mine and I have the opposite: sMG34 shows in all mods, but sMG42 has an MG34 when carried and MG42 when deployed. Hmm. Strange.

    Okay, I figured it out. It is because of the order in which .abp files are loaded. Since I am loading "mg34_lafette_sync" after "mg42_lafette_sync", that means the "machinegun_state" is set to MG34, since the "mg34_lafette_sync" was the last one to be loaded. I actually remember noticing this, but couldn't think of a way to fix it. If you don't plan on using the sMG 42 in the mod, you could probably just load them in that order and not have any issues.

    I take it you guys are loading "mg42_lafette_sync" last?

    It's looking great so far. However, I'm not sure how historically accurate it is to portray the Germans with shorts as well as the British, as I recall reading that the former weren't permitted to wear them on the frontline. To what extent that order was followed is probably debatable, but I am of the opinion that it would be better to have most of them wear regular trousers with a mix of ankle boots and tropical boots, maybe with the occasional shorts guy for variation.

    They wore shorts and trousers, It was just dependant on what idividual regimental commanding officers permited, its no different to some british units being permitted to wear a choice of kilt or trousers or lightweights or battledress, its entirely upto the units co, unless theres a parade of course. And lets just let them get the basics done, and the things working before we start harping on about accuracy. Theres at least a dozen vehicals not to mention light anti tank weapons and light armour on both sides they will need before they can fine tune it down to accuracy.

    @kapula We're using shorts to bring in some fresh air into coh and to be a bit unique.

    @saukopf Those are all made by Halftrack and he kindly gave us permission to use all the model mixes and textures he made for his afrikafeldzug mod and we greatly apreaciate it. All the infantry you'll see is made by Halftrack.

    Are you also including American forces? And if so, does that mean you're specifically focusing on the battles in Tunisia when the Americans arrived in the theatre? Or is this going to be a mix-up of the entire North Africa theatre allowing for what-if battles?

    Most likely won't add Americans. We're going through the whole North Africa theater, not set period. And We will try to deliver real battles and maybe some fictional ones.

    Could you say any kind of number how much is done already? Like 10 , 20, 30 % ?

    Are you doing it with historical squad sizes and organization, or the more abstract method of regular CoH? Sort of curious if you have plans yet on how you're handling the mixed infantry/antitank nature of the Schützen squads.

    Sdkfz 251 Halftrack - The main means of transport for the Afrika korps, armed with 2x Mg34's and can carry 12 soldiers.

    Yes, squad sizes are like in vcoh. Weapons are similiar, but a tad bit more realistic and longer range, nothing as destructive as in Blitzkrieg though.

    Well, Heretic is currently animating the Matilda 2 and should be done by the end of this week and we have some other new stuff ingame, such as the Lefh18 from Men of War.
