    Welcome to the Space Marine. Here you will find answers to commonly asked questions about Space Marine.

    Space Marine is a brand new game from Relic Entertainment,the creators of Dawn of War II. The game is being is being published by THQ and like Dawn of War, is set in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe. Unlike Dawn of War, Space Marine is an Third Person shooter.

    Q: What is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine?
    A: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a third person shooter from the developers of the the highly sucussful Dawn of War franchise. Like it's predecessors, Space Marine is set in the grim universe of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000.

    Q: What race is the focus in Space Marine?
    A: Space Marine, as the game's title indicates is focused on the Space Marines. More specifically the Ultramarine Chapter within the Space Marine faction.

    [b]Q: Are there any other playable factions in the game?[b]
    A: Unfortunately, no for Singleplayer Information; as you take the role as a Space Marine thought it's campaign. Multiplayer Information however, will allow you to play as Chaos Space Marines instead Space Marines.

    Q: What is Space Marine rated?
    A: It has received a general rating of M for Mature by ESRB, and 18+ by PEGI. For Australia it has an MA15+ rating.

    Q: Is there a demo available for me to try out Space Marine?
    A: Yes. The demo is available on Steam, XBox Live and PSN.

    Q: When is Space Marine being released?
    A: Space Marine will be released on September 6th in North America. September 8th in Australia and September 9th in Europe.

    Q: What Platforms is Space Marine being released on?
    A: Space Marine is being released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

    Q: What are the System Specifications for PC?
    A: The System Specifications as detailed by Steam are:

    A: There sure is, here is a list of them below:


    Q: Are there screenshots?
    A: Yes. Screenshots are available from most online gaming magazines, and are also available from THQ and Relic.

    Q: Is this the same game as that really early tech demo we saw years ago?
    A: No, this is a totally different game. Relic basically rebuilt the game from the ground up. However, if you would like to watch it you can here.

    Q: Is Space Marine related to the Dawn of War series in any way?
    A: Not officially. Though a Blood Ravens army is available as a preorder bonus on the PC and there have been sightings of Blood Ravens colors in a few screenshots, the story follows the Ultramarines and is not a continuation of any storyline in the Dawn of War games.

    Q: Is there a Collector's Edition?
    A: Yes. The Collector's Edition of Space Marine contains a replica purity seal, collector's cards with character bios and game tips, an art book, the game soundtrack and also contains the power sword in-game item for the PC edition.

    Q: Is there a game guide for Space Marine?
    A: Yes. A guide for Space Marine is being released by Prima Games.

    Q: Where does the Campaign take place?
    A: Space Marine's Single Player Campaign takes place and the Forge World of Graia.

    Q: What race will have a Single Player Campagin?
    A: Only Space Marines have a single player campaign. There are currently no known plans for giving campaigns to the other races.

    Q: Who is the main character?
    A: Players will take control of Captain Titus, who is a apart of the Ultramarines second company.

    Q: Will I have any AI team mates helping me?
    A: Yes. So far we've seen 2 Squad mates that will be helping you throughout the Campaign;, Leandros and Sidonus will serve as an extra pair of guns and voices in the campaign.

    Q: Who will I be fighting against?
    A: So far, only two enemy factions have been identified, with no hints at any others. Those two are, the Orks and Chaos Space Marines, both seem equally hell bent on kill you.

    Q: What is the basic story of Space Marine?
    A: The Orkish Horde has invaded Forge World Graia, seeking to plunder the biggest, the most shootiest weapons they can get their greenskin hands on. However, as you seek to stop the Orks from obtaining the ultimate price of a Titan, Chaos works in the shadows; their intentions are unknown.

    Q: Will there be drivable vehicles in the Campaign?
    A: No, players will not be able to pilot any vehicles in the game; However, they will man guns on those vehicles.

    Q: What weapons will I get to use?
    A: Space Marine features a variety of weapons for you to use throughout the campaign, the confirmed weapons are:

    Q: What races are playable in multiplayer for Space Marine?
    A: Players can play as Chaos or the Space Marines.

    Q: Is there any multiplayer army customization?
    A: Yes. A multiplayer customization tool unironically named "the Customizer" allows players to customize their units for online play. You can see it in action here.

    Q: How many players can join online matches?
    A: Space Marine allows eight players to join in for 4v4 matches.

    Q: Does the game use dedicated servers or P2P?
    A: P2P.

    Q: Does the game support split-screen multiplayer?
    A: No. Full-screen only.

    Q: What units are available in multiplayer?
    A: Space Marine players can use Tactical Marines, Devastator Marines and Assault Marines. Chaos Space Marine players can use Chaos Tactical Marines, Havocs and Raptors. Each unit class has unique perks such as teleporter beacons, increased damage when performing a stomp attack and the ability to damage enemies with jump pack exhaust.     Q: Does the PC version of the game support modding?
    A: Officially, there is no mod support available for the game. It should be noted, however, that texture mods and preliminary mod tools for Space Marine were available in the RelicNews community within a few days of the release of the demo on Steam.
