Don's mods, now with Garviel Loken 2.0

    I copied the content of my edited mk4 torso into the Sidonus torso directory and renamed the "sm_armour_basic_upres_torso.O3d" to "sm_armour_sidonus_torso.O3d". However beforehand i had to edit the mk4 .bmat so it loads my textures.

    Every time I attempt what you just stated, my game crashes and gives me a error to send to relic. I keep trying to find the O3D file in your mod but can't find it and been trying to use orginal O3D files and rename them but they keep crashing the game. I don't know what I'm doing wrong

    I copy and paste the mk4 toros files in Sidnous or leandros rename the folder as sm_armour_sidonus_torso including the O3D then it crashes?

    if you don't mind sending me a link because I've been studying what you have been doing with your mods just seems like I can't get it right.

    Ok here's my Deathwatch mod. It's not as pretty as Noodles', but i gave everybody helmets, so maybe that's something.
    Titus is still an Ultramarine, Sidonus a Space Wolf and Leandros and all the other Ultramarines are from the Blood Ravens.
    Leandros will have an unadorned helmet in the intro, but it's fine ingame and in the other cutscenes. What else? Oh yeah i didn't recolour the Jumppack since the game likes to change it back to blue anyway.
    Please don't look at the files, the mod is a mess of edited attrib_pc and O3d files, but now that it seems to work i'm too lazy to make it all work with the same method.

    That wolf skull is part of the Space Wolves' preorder armor package, and it's easily accessible from the game files.

    Also added the Chaos jumppack in Luna Wolves colours for Loken. Original version is still visible in some situations and cutscenes, but that's something that can't be changed in the /package files.
    Just extract to the Space Marine directory and overwrite if asked.

    "Renaming every file is counterproductive, as soon as you rename the mk4 o3d to the Sidonus version, it's looking for the mk4 filenames.
    So here's what i did:
    1. I copied the whole content from the sm_armour_mp_mk4_torso directory into the sm_armour_sidonus_torso folder
    2. deleted sm_armour_sidonus_torso.O3d in that folder
    3. renamed sm_armour_mp_mk4_torso.O3d to sm_armour_sidonus_torso.O3d, all other files stay as they are
    And that's it, i edited not a single .attrib_pc because whenever i edit an NPC attrib_pc, those items tend to disappear. Try deleting the the whole /sim section in your preview folder.
    That way you should at least see the model ingame."

    Below is my example:

    sm_armour_mp_Veteran_torso.dcm

    sm_armour_sidonus_torso_lp.dds
    sm_armour_sidonus_torso_nrm.dds
    sm_armour_sidonus_torso_spc.dds
    sm_gold_ref.dds
    sm_torso.bmat
    torso.bmat

    Now with Torso.bmat it is just a copy of sm_torso.bmat from the original sidonus file, but renamed. Then instead of white I got the correct texture. Now all I would have to do is edit the texture in photoshop to fix it. Make sure you find the original .bmat file of the person you are editing say if you are editing Sidonus's armour you copy the bmat file. Then you paste it twice, and rename one of the copies to the bmat file that the new armor is looking for. That should work with everything.

    How do you give all three helmets? I just want Leandros, Titus, and Sidonus to all have the standard Ultramarine blue Helmet.

    Chainsword mod

    Found another chainsword in the patched gamefiles. It seems to be the Imperial Guard version and looks less fancy and shiny than the standard version, but for those who prefer a simpler one, i coloured it black and made it playable.
    Bugs: Not animated and doesn't work with other chainsword mods (if you haven't guessed already).

    Ok i've started refining my Deathwatch a little.
    I had limited success grafting Drogan's arm to the Marines, but rigging is a little off. And rigging is something i know next to nothing about (yet).



    I'm also trying to make a fluffier Deathwatch shoulder pad, this is a *very* early WIP shot


    Learned much these last days, about UV mapping, texturing, normal mapping. Still looks like crap, but i was already having a hard time getting the skull and the notch there.
    The =I= is still missing, but i'm trying to get the writing right first.

    This was my first attempt, when i realized i couldn't just make normal maps of everything i like

    Added an edited combat knife to post 1.
    You don't really see it that often, but i thought it was a little too big, more of a machete or shortsword than a knife. I edited the hilt, shortened the grip and reshaped the blade, making it also a little shorter and thinner. And a little more *bling* is always good.

    Put the Iron Halo on the helmet, added some tubes so it looks more like the regular mk4 armour, and added wolf heads to the mk4 backpack.
    Now i wish there was less clipping with the mk4 torso.

    Nice helmet. I would kill to get a cape with that armor. Too bad there aren't any tools to edit havok material in SM.
    I never really understood how people were suppose to bend over while wearing that mk4 armor. That armor piece over the abdomen looks like it'll just stab right into the wearer's pelvis.

    Yeah, and the game version is even intersected once. The actual mini uses a single piece for breast and abdomen, good luck getting your Rhino keys back if you drop them to the floor.

    Can we expect to see the other marines wear the same MK4 armor ?

    P.s.
    Luna Wolves are not White, but Grey with Red bands to indicate great company/squad number and so on...

    Currently i'm not planning anything, but feel free to change the colours to your liking. Shouldn't be too difficult, my textures are more or less black and white with a little gold trimming.
    Make other marines have my MKIV isn't too difficult either, it just involves a lot of editing.
