Yeah, Reckoning. was good fun, be good to be flying with you again, tbh though these guys have got there act together no where near what we had back then, but they're ok, I miss the old crew, but hey, davet that traitor, he's off in PL now.

Also, it's good to not be the alliance newbie anymore

haha.. i love silly little corp wars. like when mission/miners get all rage about me ninja-ing there missions and wardec my corp. there CEO turns up in some 250mill navy raven and starts mouthing off in local. i turn up in a blackbird with EWAR worth about 5 mill. jam. scramble. i blackmail him for 100mill or the gank fleet warps in. he obliges and i let him go.

there was no gank fleet. i was the only guy online at the time XD

Ok i've found a really serious and annoying thing to complain about. The tutoriol Missions expire.

Seriouslly i've only played a littile the last few days, just enough to keep skills training, been too busy. So i went in to do the tutoriol stuff i hadn't got round to before to find most of them have expired and i can no longer do them. Seriouslly, having stuff that teaches people basic gameplay elements not dissppear before they can be complete is basic gameplay design 101. I'm not one to get this annoyed normally but EVE isn;t exactly a game that pushes you to rush through things, and it's breadth as well as depth means you might not want to touch some aspects for quite a while. I hadn't even being going to do the advanced combat tutoriols until after i subbed. No i cna't do them period...
I don't know what i'm talking about, ignore me.

Thousands of years ago, Egyptians worshipped what would become our ordinary housecat. The cats have never forgotten this.

Carl, you can restart them either in Esc -> Reset Settings or Help (F12) -> Tutorials, depending on which tutorials you're doing.

@Kais58: That works for Aura's tottally text based help. But it dosen't reset an expired tutorioul agent, (Duh you could get stupid abmounts of money if you could). I've realsied that if i complete the next mission in sequance for everyone else and don't request another though i'm ok for those. Fortunatlly on closer inspection i mixed the agents up, it was the basic military, not advanced military agent that had expired on me. I'd allreayd done alll but 3 of his missions so i doubt i lost anything but a cute implant and a cool ship as most of the tutoriouls don't have particuarly important final missions. But if i hadn't just complete the first couple of scanning missions i would have been borked for learning it. Aura's text stuff is nice, but those missions practical demos are dammed important to really making sense of that text. The probe scanning in particular is nearly impossibble to learn with just her help, (cool as she is ).

Carl you can use that help window to go to any of the tutorials and do them again. The only thing you don't get are modules you've already gotten from them before (So if you haven't done them you will still receive them).

You seem to be reffering to the stuff in the Red box. I'm reffering to the stuff in the blue box. There is no way to rest them, and unfortunatlly they actually expire. Yes the red box Tutoriols are nice. but those agents in the blue box give you those plus an actual practical example of USING it all. It's many times easier to learn to do stuff, (especially in this game), by aqctually doing it for real rather than just reading about it.

I think you're referring the the Career Agents? If you press F12 to open the help menu, click on Tutorials tab and right at the bottom of that menu there's a button that says 'Show Career Agents'. This opens up a new box and highlighted in yellow is the sentence "You may visit and learn from these agents at any time". These career agents are military, distribution etc etc which I'm pretty sure are the ones you're looking for.

@Cable: Yes you can do that, but the mission offers they have expire after a few days if you don't accept them straight away, (and natrually expire very quicklly after accepting them). Thats what happened with my military mission guy. His mission expired and thats it, the final 3 missions of his are now impossibble to complete, (because he no longer offers them). I've since rushed through every other agents missions that i hadn't allready done, and i doubt i missed anything important with just those 3 missions so i've calmed down a fair bit. But it;s still silly that they can expire given their pretty important to properly learning how to play.

That sounds like a bug tbh. I mean, it states that they can be used at any time. If you really wanted to do the military missions then contact a GM and get them to reset it for you.

well to be fair carl. you do get a few days to do the offered missions... if your gonna go do your own thing and leave it that's not really the games fault.

PLEX is really fun. Constantly buying and selling, 1-6m profit per PLEX, several at a time every few mins.. God I love ridiculous low broker fee.

haha. im working on my broker skills now. i love it when you just find a blatent hole in the market where people are buying for more then the sell price. doesnt happen often, but it does i swear.

Does anyone remember the Robotics crazy from a few years back? I swear that was crazy. someone found a loop in the market system that planets would buy robotics like crazy at the start of every new day, so if you bought them late the day before when they became dirt cheap and then resold later when they because expensive again, you could make a fortune.

Try going to more outlying area's too, i've no proof exactlly, (though if somone can quote Jinta's Dense/Concentrated Velspdar, Tritanium, Pyrexite, Mellexon, and Isogen Prices i could say for sure for those items), but i suspect those places a really long way from jinta, (and thus hard for people there to get to Jinta), are probably seeing some really odd market conditions as a result. So careful checking of them could reveal some intresting opportunities.

If sell orders fall below buy orders they automatically sell to the buy orders Manta . What I'm doing is just buying plex with buy orders (say, 439m a piece, and put them in sell orders at 448m a piece.)

Carl, it's Jita, not Jinta hehe

Fun fun fun with plex: Mind I have 5+ pages in my wallet with this so far.

    Chaos re: NPC commerce

@Alliance: Yeah, i remember that stuff. I think it's still the same, although not as infamous as the robotics thing...I used to hear rumors but never saw it for myself. Must have been just before i got into NPC buying/selling stuff.

My favorite pasttime was to scoot into low sec to purchase and sell items. Aliastra in Fua constellation and Ishukone in Sasen constellation were great destinations that fed off each other. I'd haul electronic parts to sasen and polytextiles back to fua. That was back in the day where muffin fact0ry pirates had control of sasen before FW was coded, and the piratical Alcohol Fueled Brutality controlled Fua (shadowed souls and DTS too)...I'd have them all on my watch list and found time when they were all asleep to run the guantlet. When it was too dangerous i'd mine scordite in the high sec constellation beside fua constellation out of Sarum Family stations. That was when i only had one account.

Now i have 3 accounts (i assume that's par for the course for players)...i've been mostly ice mining in hulks without doing much of anything besides lvl4 missions in marauders. Now i'm trying out the whole "living in null sec"...I'm stuck up at my GF's place who's computer doesn't have a graphics card capable enough for eve so i'm amusing myself with EveHQ fitting ratting cruisers.
    Code:
    [Arbitrator, Null Sec]

2x Small Remote Armor Repair System II
Small Remote Hull Repair System I
    Drone Link Augmentor I

    10MN MicroWarpdrive II
3x Sensor Booster II (Targeting Range)

    Damage Control II
    Medium Armor Repairer II
    2x Warp Core Stabilizer II

3x Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

    5x Acolyte II
    5x Infiltrator II
    2x Curator II
although the talos is looking mighty fine
    Code:
    [Talos, Null Sec]

8x 425mm Prototype Gauss Gun (Caldari Navy Thorium Charge L)

    10MN MicroWarpdrive II
    Tracking Computer II
    Sensor Booster II
    Cap Recharger II

    Damage Control II
    Medium Armor Repairer II
2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
    Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

3x Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

    5x Acolyte II
i'd prefer a maller, but it lacks the frigate killing ability...and getting stuck at a belt cuz a rat pointed me is bound to get me a Darwin award. Honestly though, i've cut my teeth on harbingers since they came out and love them. Here's my low sec fit which i'm not sure would survive null sec (with only 100 dps tank and no MWD i dunno...but i do love it's 560 DPS output)
    Code:
    [Harbinger, StormCrow]

7x Heavy Pulse Laser II (Imperial Navy Multifrequency M)
    Small Nosferatu II

    10MN Afterburner II
    Stasis Webifier II
    Warp Scrambler II
Medium Capacitor Booster II (Cap Booster 800)

    Damage Control II
    Medium Armor Repairer II
    Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
    Adaptive Nano Plating II
    2x Heat Sink II

3x Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

    5x Hobgoblin II
    5x Hornet EC-300
Be fun to pilot a carrier eventually for pvp. It'll take me 2 weeks to get minimal skills to fly and equip the below.
    Code:
    [Archon, IHaveTenFingers]

    Capital Energy Transfer Array I
Capital Remote Armor Repair System I
    Dark Blood Large EMP Smartbomb
    Dread Guristas Large Graviton Smartbomb
    Imperial Navy Heavy Energy Neutralizer

Shadow Serpentis Sensor Booster (Targeting Range)
    True Sansha Warp Disruptor
    2x Cap Recharger II

    Damage Control II
    2x Capital Armor Repairer I
2x Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
2x True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay

3x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

    150x Ogre I
    150x Berserker I
    150x Warrior II
    150x Valkyrie II
50x Heavy Armor Maintenance Bot I
    50x Wasp EC-900
50x Heavy Shield Maintenance Bot I
    40x Garde I
    50x Bouncer I
    50x Praetor EV-900
    50x Hornet EC-300
    6x Einherji
    6x Templar

    1x Scan Resolution
Of course, Ten would never forgive me if i tried flying it at lvl1 skills, although it would take 80 days to get to lvl 4 skills in the required areas. blechie. that doesn't even count the other stuff like navigation skills for jumping (which would be another 40 days to get calibration to lvl4)

Don't even undock a carrier without the relevant skills to atleast 4. Unless you are just jumping it somewhere you know is safe.

What Ra said. With the Honey Badger coalition running rife in the gme, nowhere is safe. In other news 11 days until I finish all the core certificates to elite.

I wish I was playing before certificates. I wish I had found this game sooner tbh.

the game peaked in fun in early 2005 imo. Who here was around when one could use dual MWD 'cavalry' ravens and the like? ahhhh...funfun (that was 2004) - http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/M...de/CA_tpar.avi for an oldschool taste.

anyone know where to find the sov map now? i checked the eveo forum but its all changed and apparently corp/alliance discussion where it used to be, has been removed

was just taking a passing interest in how the 0.0 politics have changed since i played years ago.

lol...okay okay uncle already! lol. Anyways, what's the HB coalition?

in other news, here's the sov map in youtube for those interested (2007-2011)...and yes i miss dual MWDs, cruise missiles on arbitrators, and life in low sec without annoying cloakies

and an officially linked sov still image website is here: http://eve.farlab.org/
a better sov still image (and the one used in the youtube vid) is here: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/Verite/influence.png

HB coalition is PL and Test rolled into one. I believe NC. are also involved. Essentially its a horrible nightmare for those against them.

That video is pretty cool, MajorFreak. It's nice to see the 'history' again I couldn't help but watch the Fountain/Delve corner of the map the whole time throughout that video. That might be due to my bias from living around there for a pretty long time.

I might do a month long bond. Basically I'll borrow some money from people (publicly and/or privately), use it to print isk and then return the money + interest (10%) after a month (or perhaps 2 weeks). Would anyone be interested in investing? If there's interest I'll make a lengthy post with all the details, collateral etc. Might do two, one private (relic folk only) and one public. I'm thinking of a 5B bond total to start with.

  48. #198
I'd rather pay you to teach me how to make some iskies. A friend is willing to sponsor me and he's thinking of high sec POS stuff, but i told him that carrier BPO copying is the best he could look forward to. I'd like to get into manufacturing something like ravens that sell like hotcakes, but am unsure how to make the most of eve.

Faction Warfare missioning is very lucrative. As far as an isk/hour ratio goes, I believe it is one of the the best.
