    Direct2Drive download NOT working

    I purchased a download of Dawn of War SoulStorm from Direct2Drive, and when trying to extract it, got this error message: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's information to see whether you need x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher" I also got this error message: "Windows cannot complete the extraction. The destination file could not be created"
    I am running Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit on an HP model p6710f

    Contact Direct2Drive support. But they don't give answer quickly
    Steam download is better.

    Hey bearcat22, it's not only easy to contact Direct2Drive suppport but your solution is online, no need to contact anyone. Just check out the FAQ that is exactly what you need: http://digitalsupport.gamefly.com/ap...etail/a_id/250

    If you don't resolve it using the FAQ, hit the Contact Us tab and Customer Service will help.

    STILL NOT WORKING

    Since my initial post, Direct2Drive, which NEVER SOLVED THE PROBLEM
    has been bought out by Gamefly (which I have hated, and still passionately hate).

    DoW Soulstorm does not appear on my "purchased game" collection in Gamefly,
    and it does not show up in Gamefly's list of games for sale....it may be buried in a bundle, don't know.

    Ten emails later, all I get from Gamefly is a form letter saying that they received my complaint!

    Obama, could you please declare war on whatever shthole country these ripoff artists are hiding in, so we can nuke them?

    We have absolutely no control over the business or customer service practices of Gamefly. You've contacted them, you've made your complaint, it's up to you to keep pushing the issue. Reviving this thread to bitch about them is not what this section is for. If you wish for this thread to stay open so members can assist you, feel free to contact me. Otherwise, this thread is closed.

    [EDIT] An addendum, since you feel the need to continue ranting in other parts of the forum: We ARE NOT Relic Entertainment, THQ Publishing, nor are we Gamefly/Direct2Drive. This is a fan-owned and operated discussion forum. We ARE NOT game developers, publishers, or retailers. We are gamers who frequent a website that DO NOT see a single dollar/euro/pound/etc. of whatever money you spent on the game.
