Slightly OT, but that's not what semi-automatic means. Wikipedia is your friend.

Yes, burst is different to semi automatic. But in this game the actual in-game change is from automatic to "wargear\trigger_policy\semi_auto".

If it confused you then I'll change it.

Well it just caught my eye, the description did explain what it actually does, tbh.

Standard Bolter Magazines have 30 rounds in them and the burst fire mode of the bolters fire 4 rounds per trigger pull. Fluff wise anyway.

Tried it, but 4 round burst is quite annoying imo.

20-30. I chose 20 because 30 felt a little imba at the current damage level. Same story for the Storm Bolter.

If people want the bolter with 4 round bursts and max mag sizes I'll gladly upload another version.

I'm just saying, if you're trying to make them true to lore, then your current is half that.

Changed the Bolter to have a 4 round burst. But kept the link for the 2 round burst version.

Also uploaded a version that makes the Bolter one handed because it looks awesome...

Iam not sure how much work this would be, but when I think of a bolter I think of it as being semi-auto, every time I pull the trigger 1 fast moving bolt of death is giong to ruin an orks day, Iam useing the 4 round system now and ive gota say, I alawys end up having 3 random bolts shooting after my first one goes into the orks head, seems like a waste to me. 1 bolt for each click i say!

It should be noted that W40K fluff changes with every published book, at one point the bolter was even caseless. Semi-auto, two-, three- or four-round burst, full-auto - you'll find evidence for any of these modes if you just read enough novels and codices. Change it to anything you feel comfortable with.

I am currently working on a Dark Heresy/Deathwatch inspired mod that will have the bolter firing as per the Deathwatch rules (3 shots per round which equates to 1 round every 1.667 seconds). I kept the damage on the bolter the same per second which means one round is enough to kill a boy but you will find yourself cycling a lot. Also since it takes a full round to reload Titus really takes his time with his 5 second reload :-). Anyway I just have the heavy weapons left and I will be ready to release the mod so if you are looking for a slower single shot bolter stay tuned.

Not too hard at all Robatech. Semi automatic Bolter has been uploaded.

True Don. I'll just be releasing variants people ask for and ones that I find.

EDIT: One handed Storm Bolter is up and a one handed Bolter/Storm Bolter combo.

tried out the 4 round burst, really like the feel of the bolter now. does the damage i expected it to do and sounds great with the stalker sound fx.
one thing i don't like though is that the burst is very slow.. i usually end up wasting ammo. ill try out the other ones I'm sure ill like them more.

btw does the semi automatic one shoot as fast as you can click or is there a slight delay between every shot?

It does shoot as fast as you click.

i usually end up wasting ammo.
I prefer a 2 round burst. Feels like I'm wasting less when I'm shooting a single Ork.

    SCIENCE!

2 round burst seems right, if you want burst fire. According to deathwatch at least, the bolter's fire rate is S/2/4. Either single shot, 2 round burst, or 4 shots on full auto. The 4 shots isn't a "burst", it's how many bullets can be fired (on full auto) within the time frame of a single turn.

I guess this mod is nice if you want burst fire, but why not just let go of the trigger when you want to stop shooting? Since the bolter is capable of fully automatic fire, i don't see how the game mechanics aren't true to lore.

So perhaps a better way would be to simply modify the original bolter's visual/soundfx (change to Stalkers) and damage. But amplify the recoil/crosshair reticle increase to balance it out (try to make 2-round-bursts the most efficient; e.g. after 2-3 shots you are totally inaccurate at long range)?

Thankyou very much. You've improved the campaign by 75% for me the only thing i'm missing now is for the plasma gun and pistol to be made substantially more powerful.

By the way, I noticed that the off-hand bolter combination pack at the bottom doesn't work with the single shot bolter for me. Is that right?

That doesn't bother me much though, as I'll have the single shot bolter with the offhand storm bolter making everything nice n dandy. You rock Thorno, great work.

EDIT: Is there some way to combine the semi-auto boltgun with the off-hand storm bolter?

Updated with different off-hand Bolter settings and a Heavy Bolter "patch".

    EDIT: Automatic Bolters uploaded.

Would you kindly upload to somewhere other than MegaUpload? I always get "Unavailable" when I try to download...

  21. #21
Me to, it says something about MegaUpload having been shut down or something. Anyway, I would be glad if you could re-upload the mods somewhere else or at least tell me how to change weapon sound effects properly, I was hoping that downloading some of the mods would, among other things, help me understand how one does that. I have for some time been trying to figure out how to change the bolter soundeffects to those of the stalker bolter to make the weaponsound a bit more powerfull and be more satisfying to use but whithout any progress. I have been trying to figure out what lines I have to change in the attribute file, but have been unable to find the ones that determin the soundeffect that plays when you fire the weapon. If you could either re-upload the mods, or give me a clue to what I have to change to change the audio when the weapon fires. Thanks in advance!

    Edit:
    Thank you!
