    TrashMan's Phoenix Knight Chapter v1.0

    What this mod contains:

    - Phoenix Knights armor for Titus, Leandros and Sidonis (3 different chest pieces, 3 helmets, different shoulder pads) - more to come!
    - slight balance changes:
    Bolt Pistol uses ammo (120). Damage increased
    Bolter has 180 ammo. Damage increased, RoF reduced
    Power Sword included
    Titus regenerates health slowly (at 2hp per second - all Phoenix Knights have enhanced regeneration)

    one of the reasons the mod is so big is because all the Photoshop files are included...layers and everything. You can use that to create your own chapter. Jsut take note that before you change the hue/color of a a color layer, best revert the blending optiosn to normal...then after you pick a color, chenge it back. And experiment with blending options - multiply is good, but so is overlay, color burn, opactiy and color ..

    to install simply extract the files and put them in the preview folder. Make a game shortcut with " -usepreview" added to the path. Space included!


    The default Titus uses the Mk4 iron warrior helmet.
    To change helmets:
    go to
    "Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine\preview\sim\attributes\instances\wargear\wargear\race_marine\heads\in-game"

    remove titus.attrib_pc (this will make the game use the corvus pattern helmet)

    To change it to a standard helmet, go to
    "Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine\preview\art\race_marine\characters\spacemarine\armour\sm_armour_dark_angels"

    and rename the rather obviously named _STANDARD folder and the current helmet folder.


    TO COME:
    different weapon loadout for sidonus and leandros
    more armor pieces
    Sidonus and Leandros using helmets
    improved textures
    whatever other changes I feel like doing.

    Still plenty left to improve upon.

    And yes, in case you were wondering, I did rup apart other mods to study and make this one.

    No prob, you might want to recolour the specular map as well though. Makes a huge difference.

    EDIT: I don't know how this corresponds with Phoenix Knight fluff, but if you put this here http://www.mediafire.com/?rifx6qzcp8cgutv into the IW helmet directory, it will make the flames glow.

    Yeah, I haven't gotten around to fixing the specular maps..or making new normal maps. So much to do, so little time! New helments and chest pieces :P

    Speaking of which, I could post a link or two to some good normal mapping tutorials and tools. I know a few excellent ones.


    EDIT: Stil lcna't get the damn helments to work on Leandros and Sidonus. Care to see if I missed something Don?

    Ok, does anyone here know how to make the damn helments work?
