Wait theres a ME PC Save file site?? Does anyone know if it would work in ME3 even if you dont have the other two on PC? Cause like Rince, ive played both ME1 and 2 on the xbox and was planning on getting it on that simply because thats where my previous save files are... Id much rather get it on the PC if it runs well...

From what I've heard you can edit all relevant choices from ME1 and 2 in it, and make a new savegame with them. Remains to be seen if it will work with ME3, considering it will use Origin.

Not able to play ME3 on my computer due to some issues. And that really sucks because I beat ME2 with a perfect record early last year. No dead squadmates and saved the crew. I doubt I can transfer the files to my 360. I've been looking for an hour online trying to find out what decisions you get to choose (if any) at the beginning of ME3. Maybe the default Shepard is close enough to my Paragon that it wont matter. But damn. Any help would be appreciated.
As for the topic: Everything i've seen of the multi looks pretty fun. But desert comes after the main course.
Played the demo for a good couple of hours and the multiplayer is a blast so far.
Didn't have much fun with the singleplayer part, it looked ugly and it wasn't 'my' Sheppard but the fact that it played pretty much exactly the same as the 2nd game has netted them a preorder.
Multiplayer is fun, although the demo's two maps and single enemy type are going to wear thin rather quickly, peer to peer connections are also a mark against it, and while Hoard mode is fun but I was kind of hoping for something a little more competitive. There aren't many 3rd person shooters with a well made multiplayer, and especially not any as ability centric and well financed as the Mass Effect series so that's sort of disappointing.
just played the demo twice, and am bout to pre-order.
seems pretty cool, although my pc's a bit aged by now so i'll have to upgrade.

BrettMann - there used to be Xbox 360 saves at masseffectsaves.com before Microsoft asked them to take them down so I'm sure you could find a save that is exactly like yours and use that.

Some gripes I had with the demo: there's an enormous gap between ME2 and ME3 that really isn't explained at all. There is very little dialogue to choose from. Shepard's talking much more on his/her own now. Also, everything went more holywood-y. The scene with the kid and the scene with the Krogan at the end... ugh.
The action seemed much smoother though (reloading WHILE moving in cover?! Oh Bioware, you so wacky). I'm keeping my preorder in any case.

(I caved to see how it would run on my PC) But im glad that im the only one who thought it kinda looked ugly. I found the clothing/armour textures during the dialogue scenes to be really poor for the first part of the demo. Im hoping its just the fact that it seemed to be the demo previewed at E3 or whatnot way back and that they hadnt finished polishing the game then as the skins of characters looked significantly better. Apparently the demo was horrendously cutdown to meet Microsoft's save restrictions. Don't expect any fancy graphics or anything really.
Once again, Bioware has fucked up with "random goodie backs" carried over from The Old Republic. Somebody needs to punch these designers that think its "cool" and "fun" to not play the game the way you want do. Did I need to complete ME1 and ME2 as a soldier before unlocking other classes? No. So why the fuck do I have to do that in multiplayer. At least the levels carry over - but I really want to play a Krogan
Finally, I have no complaints other than that. I look forward to some MP games tonight.

For graphics settings in the ME3 demo on PC there's a seperate executable in the demo folder. However, the demo does seem to have been designed to run at 720P or lower. They've definitely compressed textures a lot.
And I've got a friend who is a Bioware playtester. He confirms that the demo is a significantly trimmed down section of the intro. A lot more happens before the Reaper invasion that doesn't exist here. The second mission is also missing a lot of dialogue, most likely to remove spoilers.
i found graphics settings in the options under 'extras' in the main menu. adjusted resolution from there, but i don't remember the full list of options.
The only graphics options that can be changed in-game IIRC are resolution, antialiasing and dynamic shadpows.

Demo's for the Xbox 360 have to be less than 2gig or Microsoft won't allow them to be hosted on Xbox Live.Apparently the demo was horrendously cutdown to meet Microsoft's save restrictions. Don't expect any fancy graphics or anything really.

Multi's fun as balls, at first I was a bit taken aback at the lack of slo-mo when zooming in but got used to it after a bit and was back to headshotting everyone with the Infiltrator. TacCloak is a lifesaver on some of those objectives, or when picking up a teammate.
Single player was pretty fun, seems like they're going for a much more dynamic feel, the music during the Cerberus part was pretty awesome. Also liked the Infiltrator weapon during it, it was like a DMR.
THE RAIN TRANSFORMED
Multiplayer is pretty fun. I do wish the unlocks weren't random though. Really want to play as a Krogan. Controls can be a bit weird too. Putting revive on the same button as roll/enter cover was a pretty stupid idea. Also, it's annoyingly easy to die from curbstomping. But I can see it being something fun to play every once in a while. Don't really see it having much staying power unless they do a lot of post release content though.
Good to hear they cut back the stuff for the demo in singleplayer. I was a bit underwhelmed with the conversation options and graphics. Also it was really annoying that they forced you to take so many guns in the second mission. I play Engineer and having a massive cooldown on powers was really not fun.
I really can't believe they put in an option to have all the dialogue play out as cutscenes with no choices. Seems so pointless. Sitting through those with no choices for some of the longer ones has got to be really boring.

Also whoever chose to randomize unlocks needs to be fired... so annoying. On the plus side, the MP is actually kinda fun (if you get a good team :P) i think that may have put a nail in the coffin for me cancelling my xbox preorder and getting it for the PC as i no longer have a live account and i aint paying for another one :P

Engineer is basically easy mode in multiplayer, and Adept is great for ruining the Infiltrator's shots every time with shockwave. Ninjas do way too much damage and have way too much health, though, especially since they can instantly kill anyone (not down, kill).
I don't have a problem with it. But I got four or five class unlocks already.Also whoever chose to randomize unlocks needs to be fired... so annoying.

The demo requires Origin on PC right? Looks like I may finally need to bite the bullet and install it.
Engineers have always been godlike. At least since ME2. Having powers to strip all forms of protection bar barriers, which you could just shoot down with the SMG. Plus the Drone to distract stuff from killing you. Seem even better in this one with the lame powers like AI Hacking and Cryo Blast having been improved quite a bit.
You're way too lucky with those unlocks Starblade. I still have nothing other than the default classes and some weapon upgrades.

That shit doesn't exist because it is not fun to fight against the game you are trying to play. It's like every other RPG limiting you to one class and race until you complete the game, and even then your not guaranteed any other race or class. Or randomly giving out promotions at work to different jobs people don't want or aren't very good at doing. It's disgusting.
A guy on the SWTOR forums explained it very well about their random PvP bags - You get paid in tokens which you exchange for daily needs (food, water, etc) but every now and then you get a proper paycheck that can pay for those and luxuries or other things. Funnily enough, people get full paychecks every month. This system did NOT need to be a lottery.
As you can probably tell, I got a Quarian Engineer in my first pack and I haven't gotten anything since (and I hate quarians).

I am firmly convinced the Recruit pack is only there to keep you in the basic consumables for the next game, of course I wasted a lot of credits on recruit packs but pretty much kept getting the same things over and over to the point where I have a level 5 Katana shotgun, as well as a level 5 choke and bayonet for it but bugger all else. The second Veterans pack I unlocked had a a yellow Revenant in it which makes me extremely happy but it gives less consumables for cost I think.
As far as characters go, I have unlocked all the Human characters I think but don't have any of the filthy xenos so I'm firmly convinced that your going to need to save up and buy a Veteran pack if you so much as want a sniff of anything good. And that's fine for me, you can 'almost' buy one every time you complete a bronze game so their not exactly hard to get.
I think it would work better if the characters where either all unlocked at the start or became available upon set character levels. Im fine with the weapon upgrades and other stuff being random, but i want to play as a Turian!

If you can prove the final game won't have two crappy packs, then sure. But my point still stands - its possible to get N7 rank 120 (that's level 20 in all classes) and not have unlocked any other races, because the system is a lottery slot machine. Not all of us are gambling addicts, nor do we want a game setup like a casino to turn us into addicts.
Second, I'm pissed off because as I mentioned this is the second time that Bioware have pulled crap like this. And I don't own Call of Duty - I was just using it as an example, as I could with say, Battlefield 3 - which has a progression system that makes sense.
Apart from the confusing grammar in your line, I fail to see how that responds to my point. It didn't need to be a lottery - if your arguing it didn't need to be progression based either, that's cool too. But in its current iteration it is very, very difficult to get the class/race combo you desire. And that is not fun. Which is counterproductive to games, which are, meant to be, fun. Thus, I claim the bad design.
I've seen one Krogan. Lots of humans. Funny, I thought that Earth had just been attacked and the humans were screwed.

Locking classes in this way is rather irritating as you should start with some freedom to play how you want. I agree that classes should be unlocked from the beginning. You shouldn't have to start as soldier.

Every class is unlocked from the start though, it's only the aliens that are locked. Unless it's different in the full game.
Odd question. Does ME3 demo on PC have MP or not? Because I finally gave in and installed the shitty Origin and I still can't get into it. Odd. The SP portion was fun, though Cerberus has to have the biggest idiot ball ever. Earth under siege, so let's attack the only man able to stop it, and hinder him on his way to acquire assistance from other races. Fuck. Also, sounds like Wrex has a different voice actor or is it only me? Also x2, the demo part with saving the female implies that Wrex has an important role in the game. I wonder what would happen if you'd kill him in ME1. Would his brother be there instead? Eh.
Makes me want to get the game, but I don't want to give EA and Origin my money. Especially not to have Origin. But still, shit, dilemnas.

@ Mokino, point taken - but I was being a douche about the whole human thing. Really don't understand the need for HUMAN MALE, HUMAN FEMALE, QUARIAN (neglects to mention their female only) SALARIAN (never seen a female salarian).
Multiplayer is (mostly) unlocked by playing Battlefield 3. Which if you haven't you've been missing out.
There's a facebook app too - you could probably find folks in this thread to activate the app with and get access.

They actually have some differences in stats and skills. Humans are weaker but more versatile. The other races tend to have one different skill based on class.
Tried it out on my Xbox. It's fun, but in no way am I going to subscribe a gold membership for it. It disappoints me that I started playing this on Xbox to begin with. Won't I need to play multiplayer to get a good ending in single player or something?

It helps, but bioware have stated you can get a complete ending without MP.

MP and the iOS/Facebook games make getting the best ending easier. So does importing an ME2 save.
Without either boost, one of the possible endings is extremely difficult to get but not impossible. Most likely it just means you need to complete more optional sidequests. Remember how Bioware made the suicide mission sound extremely difficult?

I got a Krogan character for mp, I got it in that beginners pack whatever it's called. Though I got a bit bored pretty quickly, I don't know how much of the multiplayer I'd player, either way my main reason is just to play the singleplayer. The MP is a litte repetitive and I don't really know what I'm supposed to do other than kill the waves of enemies.
Personally I thougt the demo was quite interesting. It is very rare that you see a full multiplayer experience in a demo. I liked the coop/multiplayer, got to rank 18 with my Infiltrator. But I was kinda disapointed with the singleplayer section, I felt it could have been left out, because it felt rushed and lacked the elements i love about Mass Effect.
The PC will never get back to its true potential, because all the games are now cross platform and all this cross platform games get "consolfied"

The demo cut out most of the dialogue around those parts. It's not what the in-game version will be, according to the devs.
been playing multi for a short while, seems pretty cool although my connection doesn't always agree with it. got no problem with the unlocks since i'm used to the mechanic from trading card games (plus i don't need to spend money on them). connection troubles making it difficult to find games, however, and i'm not exactly capable when it comes to solo-ing the levels, so i'm not exactly swimming in cash and xp right now

I have lost all interest in ME3, I liked the first one, ME2 was well produced but utterly bland. ME3 looks like a generic 3rd person shooter and I have zero faith in an EA product being a decent sequel, especially since ME2 spent much of the game evading the central plot and was mostly self contained subplots.
