Was just thinking around THQ's current financial troubles. I wondered if THQ and therefore Relic goes under, will Relic online cease to operate. Would CoH multiplayer then stop working as we know it?

No, because as far as I know the servers aren't from THQ, but from another hoster, hired by Relic.
The people who host the Relic Online servers more than likely are being paid to do though - by Relic and / or THQ.

Well it would last as long as the contract continues after that i think. I think it would depend on the further status of Relic in that case. But a bit hard to say in that case.
THQ owns Relic and thus owns all the IP and copyrights. If they go bankrupt all games would be shut down. However, they might sell off the studios or the separate IP's which then the prospective buyers could operate them. It really comes down to how THQ would proceed to shutdown in a bankruptcy scenario. Cashflow would be the major consideration on how long they could keep various operations/servers going.

We have three separate threads speculating on the future of CoH, not to mention threads speculating about Relic/THQ in The Gamer's Lounge and GD. It's starting to get too confusing for my poor little brain, so I think we'll close two of the threads here and just stick to this one.
