    can anybody send me a download link for a visual mex editor i have looked everyware and cannot find one althogh i do not know if there even is one so correct me if im wrong

    There was one prior to HWSE, but it was rather buggy. I doubt it would be any more compatible with Windows 7 than HWSE, though.
