Homeworld 1 Loading but then crashes

I've done a fresh reinstall of Homeworld 1 from my orginal game disk. I have patched it to 1.05. The first two intro movies show and then it displays a message saying 'homeworld.exe has stopped working'

I have checked the forums for problems like mine, but the solutions aren't solving mine.
I have tried changing the compatibility to XP SP 3 and to NT4.0 SP5.


My rig:

Intel Core i7 2600K
MSI P67A-GD65 (MS-7681)
8GB RAM
AMD Radeon HF 6900 Series
Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Edit: Problem solved: turns out i've still got some modded files which crashed the game in directionary. The game runs fine once i've deleted them.

Or try switching to another renderer via a command line option in the shortcut.

hehe viper he edited his first post day after mine saying he found mod files in his dire giving him problems :P

Don't know how I missed that part. That's also why I try to refrain from just editing my post after someone else has replied to it. Makes more sense to see it all in chronological order. At least when the thread is this short.

At least he got it working. That's the important part.
