Relicnews Painting & Modelling Forum Painting Competition Mk. VIII
Now that the Child's Play army build is in the last stages and because there hasn't been one for absolutely yonks - it must be painting competition time again. And so, without further ado -
Roll Up. Roll Up.
For a limited time only the (sort of) Annual Relic Painting Competition is open for your pleasure and participation. Entry to this most spectacular of spectacles is free, although I have to warn you that a loss of sanity may be the result of your endeavours.
However, the world awaits those who are bold, and I urge you all to cast aside your timidity and enter the most dangerous arena known to the Painting and Modelling Forum denizens. Armed only with a 5/0 brush and pots of paint you will fight to the death against your fellow forumites until only 1 (in each Tier) emerges victorious with the Annual Painting Competition crown.
Rules
Right there are a few rules. PLEASE READ before posting bone questions further down the thread.

NO PHOTO in front of this post = NO ENTRY!!!!

Hammerguard - Large Model - Lower Tier (photo)

***********************************************************
Time Zones
ALL timings for this comp are in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). It is your responsibility to convert your local time to this to ensure that you meet the competition deadlines.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Categories
There are three categories, covering any model from the GW/FW ranges you can think of -
Single Figure - Any range; including custom figures created/converted from a majority of parts from the GW ranges.
Squad/Unit - Any range; - must meet the minimum squad number for the unit you are entering in the appropriate codex including custom figures created/converted from a majority of parts from the GW ranges.
Large Model - Monstrous Creatures, Vehicles, Inquisitor Scale, and larger-sized custom figures or dioramas created/converted from a majority of parts from the GW range.
You CANNOT enter more than once in each category.
Any range in the Single Figure category means - 40k, Fantasy, LotR, Necromunda, Bloodbowl and Mordheim.
Any range in the Squad/Unit category means - 40k, Battlefield Gothic, Epic, Fantasy, LotR, Necromunda, Bloodbowl and Mordheim.
If in doubt as to what constitutes a Monstrous Creature or Vehicle in the Large Model Category, then check the appropriate Codex for the description of the model you are entering.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Tiers
There will be an upper tier and lower tier for each category. You may enter the Upper Tier in one category and the Lower Tier in another. You cannot enter Upper and Lower Tiers in the same category.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Bases
Bases must be appropriately sized to the model you are entering. Scenic bases CAN be used, but again try and remember that this is a painting comp.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Conversions
Conversions are more than welcome; however, they must be at least 50% GW/FW parts. Please remember that it's the painting that'll be judged and not the conversion or as my dad used to say 'you don't look at the mantlepiece when you're poking the fire'. Not too sure what that had to do about miniature painting though.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Closing Date
A maximum of 4 pictures of each fully painted model you are entering must be posted in this thread by Friday 23rd March 2012 at 1900hrs (GMT). Again, anyone who has not posted their entry photos by this date will be excluded.
Pictures must not be any bigger than 800 x 600 pixels.
All in all from today that's 66 days or about 9 and a half weeks to get your painting done.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Judging
Judging will be carried out by you, the Relic Forums' finest and will consist of a Poll for each category (upper and lower). The polls will be made visible so that people can see who votes for whom.
This set of polling will run from Monday 26th March 2012 until Sunday 1st April 2012.
Once the winners of each category have been decided, then another poll will take place for each tier to decide the overall best model in upper and lower. Again these polls will be made visible.
The final two polls will run from Monday 2nd April 2012 until Sunday 8th April 2012.
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Prizes
Each category winner in both upper and lower tiers will receive a Relicnews Painting & Modelling Forum Painting Competition Mk. VIII Banner to put in their signature.
Each final vote winner will receive a Supreme Model Banner to put in their signature alongside the Relicnews Painting & Modelling Forum Painting Competition Mk. VIII one.
