Old PE player knocking rust off

Me vs some nice chap playing brit. So I'm starting to play some again, last time having played seriously was 2.4...

Things have changed since then, and although I've tried to keep myself up to date, I think I'm still playing like the antique player I am.

Comments on my playing, sloppy micro with some units, the guy was great at attacking with several units and such. In the end I defeated him and had him cold, as he retreats to his base truck and I follow, it's in a forward position and I simply massacre them.

    Constructive criticism is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Mr St Mere Dumont! :P

My opinion, ditch the schwimm.. I used to use it a lot too but in the end the ketten feels more of use mid-late game.
I always go for 2 kettens on Beau, simply because it is so stretched out. Just because it is that, Brits have trouble capping and thus double ketten comes in as a big value. On top of that i find Beau excellent for harrass-capping (i.e., recapping a point right after its capped).

I wouldnt attack Brit squads that are behind a stone wall AND have their truck right behind them :P You lost 2 squads on that under 4 mins in the game.
8 mins - Woah he lost 2 squads to your base flaks! Bet he didnt expect that retreat path... You're back in the game.
12 mins - You are once again losing lotsa squads attacking his troops behind the stone wall, plús now they have CCS up and healing plús theres a mortar decimating you.
17mins'ish- When you are taking back that righthandside, I personally think you are better off capping the 2 cut off points first, it would hurt him more at that time plus he had his armor truck parked behind it then. It would also force him to move his squads there to regain the terrority, instead of him having a BBQ outside your base in the middle.
23 mins - You see he now focussed on that righthandside, leaving his HQ VERY vulnerable. He's capping with most of his squads so there cant be much left at his HQ you at that point have a Hetzer, shrecks,a P4 and a Marder... You could have decimated his HQ right there.
27 mins - Ah, now you take down the HQ ;D

Win, good job I'd personally go for the fast shrecks-in-HT strat here, I think Beau is ideal for it against Brits and, like I said, kettens.
    Now thát's a Knight's Cross.

Thanks. Yeh, I realise that tommies behind stone walls are tougher than I thought there.

So the good ole ketten is still the way to go? Are there any notable differences besides the abilities?

Good point on the cutoff points. Ive started to use that more now that I've knocked some rust off, but that one hadn't crossed my mind yet.

I've started to use more double schwimm/kettens on most maps, as the extra capping and harrasment opportunities are really worth it.
I've also seen a great use of scout cars vs brits. I was brit and got competly demolished by a PE player who went early scout cars.

    Thanks for your comments

Yeah I think the Ketten delivers more, the abilities are much more useful, especially in 1v1 and against Brits. The incendiary mine is quite useless with Brits since they are so strong, Mark Target ability IS a good one but very hard to use.. and in the end the cloaked ketten or repair ability is useful till the endgame. But hey, it's all my opinion

Against Brits I think double ketten always pays off, but especially on the larger maps, since speed is a Brit's achillesheel.
    Happy gaming!
