Bolt vs plasma pistol and sniper in exterminatus

It took along time before I tried the AM class and I tested the pistols and now I wonder why anyone would pick bolt pistol over plasma. They seem to do the same damage. Low tier orks die in 3 hits with both, later ones has armor so I guess plasma is better. Plasma has like 5x rof and has no recoil, and can charge. In short bolt pistol is inferior to plasma, why choose it? Btw even worse why pick the true grit and use boltgun in one hand? Boltgun is inferior to all other weapons, maybe worse than bolt pistol. Having less accuracy and maybe less rof sounds stupid. What reason is there to not pick plasma pistol?

Does anyone find the stealth bolter sniper gun useful in ext? I find myself running out of ammo all the time. I heard 1 mag is just enough to remove chaos armor, another to kill. While lascannon will kill with 3 shots and has 4 stored. The sniper also has crazy long reload time. I'm sure it's fine in versus but not here in ext. Maybe it's good as combo with meltagun, but never on it's own.

Btw the most effective weapons seems to be those with highest damage per attack. Hammer, melta, lascannon gives the most kills most of the time and they are of course superior against chaos compared to others.
The comparisation of Starcraft 1 and 2 stories is like the starwars prequels compared to the first 3 movies.

Agreed, the bolt pistol is slightly useless in exterminatus, but so are quite a few other weapons as well. In versus however, the bolt pistol is probably my favorite weapon across the board.
Haven't tried the stalker bolter, but I'm not sure it's good enough in later waves where heavy enemies get plentiful.

What benefit does it have in versus? It's not like the plasma pistol has non-hitscan projectiles like in the campaign.

    Headshots.

Ditto for versus. In versus you can also count on it having higher accuracy at longer ranges and being more efficient at killing health.

I experience both of them having perfect accuracy almost.

for ammo conservation, bolt pistol is far superior to plasma pistol.

Not only do you not waste as many shots, you can OHK basic infantry with the bolt pistol which you can't with plasma. I'm freaking glad I've got the BP when I'm tac, even more so as dev, and use it almost equally as my main weapon. killing shoota boys with las shots is overkill. not to mention BP has a pretty damn fast reload speed.

Plasma shines when it comes to ROF, meaning if you don't have time to properly aim, you're better off with that. it also does splash damage, which helps when enemies are clumped together. its character is more of a "soften them up" weapon or a last ditch defense, while a BP is more of a killer.

As an ASM I use the PP, because the charged shots stun hard boys, and because I'm on the move so much that I don't have time to aim. as a tac or dev, I would'n choose PP over BP even if given the choice, BP OHK is just too valuable when you need to conserve ammo and have a bunch of guardsmen or boys coming for you that using your primary weapon for is simply uncalled for.

Ah yes, I meant to say that when playing ASM, the bolt pistol felt as the weaker choice. When playing tac or dev the bolt pistol is however kick ass. I tend to use it for ork boys, guardsmen and bloodletters, and it works very well.

Per hit, bolt pistol is more damage. If you fire with maximum accuracy, you fire more pistol shots than plasma shots.

love the whole "dirty harry" thing with bolt pistol, that tied with finishing a melee combo, or grenade makes it my side arm of choice.
