PE Veteran Sergeants?

Pehaps a bit of a stupid question, since I have been playing this game for years now

I have hardly ever played PE except in the Campaign. Last night for a bit of distraction I played a skirmish game as PE.
I noted that I get an option to employ veteran Sergeants. What does this do/mean? you dont get a physical person does it add a Sgt to your squads and give you bonuses?

Veteran Sergeant makes PGs harder to suppress and gain vet faster (.75 suppresion, 1.25 experience earned). It's just an upgrade, you won't get an extra member to your PG squads.
