It's extremely unlikely, almost impossible, that Titus received any formal training or conditioning in the ways of the Exorcists or the Inquisition that sponsor them.
There are actually a number of ways that Titus could have been resistant to the touch of the warp, or even raw warp energy. Many cases have been documented, but are exceedingly rare when compared to the vast size of the Imperium. Heresy, on the other hand, is rampant, insidious, and contagious. No one would be happier than the Witch-Hunters of the Inquisition to find real, verifiable immunity to the warp, but the risks are incalculable. Far better to throw a hundred innocent men to the fire than let one heretic walk unpunished.
Yet, even the most zealous among the Ordo Hereticus would be forced to admit that dealing with a Captain of the Ultramarines, foremost of the First Founding chapters, requires a bit more... tact. He won't simply be made to disappear. Titus will be tested, sorely. Tortured, certainly. The Inquisition will want to know if it was faith or corruption that saved his life, and if he remains pure, they'll want to know how. They'll want to know they can use it, and how they can use him. Whole worlds have been sacrificed for smaller stakes. Even if Titus is validated by the Inquisition, it won't come without a heavy cost.
