Need :help: with a few things in soulstorm modding?

    Space Marines Need :help: with a few things in soulstorm modding?

    I seen a mod a while ago for Dawn of war where a servitor had an extra menu with other structures to build i looked at the servitors ebps and sbps i am at a loss i cant even find the build menu if someone can help with that that would be nice and i have been wanting to edit a weapon i want to take the Terminators heavy bolter and make it shoot lust cannon like the predator tank but look like the heavy bolter i am not sure where to begin i thought you could just change the FX but i don't see anything . if someone can point me in the right direction that would be nice i will most likely understand any explanation regarding the topic if not i am a very quick learner and ill get it o and is it possible to add addons from race to race ex if i wanted to add the sisters turret addon to a space marines bolter as a 2nd addon after the rocket addon is finished its probably simple and i over looked them or didn't look hard enough in the forms for help

    The building engineer extension only provides access to the race build menus (the contents of which are set by Data\attrib\ebps\races\[race_name]\structures). Enabling (and populating) the advanced build menu (by editing taskbar.lua and the structure entity blueprints) is covered in this tutorial.

    Thank you this is exactly what i was looking for regarding my servitor now all i need to work on is the pesky FX editing im in no rush you can only do one thing at a time

    To edit how model look ingame:

    1)
    To visually change any model (add non existed weapons, parts, etc) - you need 3d max and set of scripts. http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?148135-Basic-Modeling-Tutorial-for-Dawn-Of-War-(1st-post-update-more-details-now).&p=3585224

    2)
    To change/assign FX-es you need the Object Editor installed and model's intermediate files to edit. Getting this intermediate files is a kind of tricky process for novice modder. You can try to use "Moodflap tools" as it is descibed in tutorial, but take as advice: Only using 3d Max scripts will guarantied you 100% quality result.

    Thank you for pointing me in a direction i am very familiar with 3ds max, and inventor
    i have 3ds max 12 will that work instead of 6, 7 or 8 or do i need them all?

    Relic's export script use a binary dll (.dle) so it will work only with 8, 9 and 2008 version. You need v8, v9 or v2008 for export model to the game.
    Community import script (aka Santos Tools scripts) should work with any version in theory. If you know how to "flawlessly" convert models/animations from newer versions into v.2008 format [at later stages], you can use the newer version.
