Yes. Today's graphic cards are built to handle temperatures up to at least 90-100 degrees Celsius during full load, and having them idle at around 60-70 degrees Celsius is pretty much standard (unless you have watercooling or other after market cooling solutions for the GPU).

Make sure your cables are out of the way of the fans and airflow and make sure the vents in your case are lint free. The cooler the better is a good general rule.

Ok now I have noticed that my machine just shuts down when playing supreme commander 2 playing with 4 AI's and it never did that.

When I reboot and check the card temperature,my program Speccy that I use to check temperatures shows that card in the red going over 200°F .

Today I opened the case and noticed that the video card was right up against my audio card which was blocking half of the fan, though this has been like this for 2 years now and I didn't have this problem.

So I moved the audio card away from it and gave the video card breathing space so that the fan is not blocked.

Still where before the average temp was 141-142°F in recent weeks after posting this my average is now 160-162°F.

I checked the Catalyst Control and fan speed is 100% [though under enable manual control it was listed as 52% the other reading was still saying 100% so I enabled the manual control and set the slider so that it also read 100%.

Also don't know if this helps but my AMD Phenom II X4 925 temp is 90 °F and my Mobo is 123 °F

So is my card dying ?

Do you have additional fans installed in your case? If so, make sure that they aren't installed in a way that causes them to blow air up against the card's onboard fan. I've seen similar problems before when a case has added fans and one is essentially blowing the hot air back onto the card after the card's fan tries to get rid of it.

It's possible that the card's having problems, or it might be the bearings in the fan that are having problems (if the fan can't spin as well, it won't be able to move air as effectively.)

Yes I have 1 fan and 1 small one that sits over the processor.

I will check the fan today but now I noticed that when I turned on the machine this morning and after running it for around 20 minutes, the card's temperature is now around 130-132°F so moving the audio card must have helped in giving it some breathing room but I'm still going to check the fan.
