...Hollywood and depicting network intrusions/breaches happening in 3D

    Someone actually made it real.

Also, where is my purple haired cyborg lady?

EDIT: Upon further inspection, unless I am missing something, this is just a visualization tool? How exactly could this be utilized to help deal with breaches?

Funding...I'd imagine...Maybe being able to help those who don't understand cyber attacks or something? Really kinda drawing a blank. Still, it looks nice.

Also, maybe it can help find where a source of an attack comes from, which can aid in limiting the effects of the attack by cutting off infected areas more efficiently, warning an employee that a USB key might be infected..etc.

Many people are identified as visual learners for people like that a visualization of a network and what is happening to it will allow that person to better interpret and respond to the data at hand.

I could also see this being useful in Legal Proceedings, Congressional Hearings, as a teaching tool, and in communicating anything about cyber attacks to the higher-ups. Basically when the tech-savvy need to talk to the not-tech-savvy.

Upon further thought, I think that this might be easier to read at a glance rather than a table full of text/numbers.

Agreed, Afoxi - I think that might be the entire point of it, to allow quick visualization of the attack without having to wade through tons of data.

For the uninitiated (I.E. me) a lot of computer stuff (coding languages, data reports whatever) just looks like a mess or gibberish at first glance and as is said, a lot of people are 'visual learners, we take it visual information much quicker, which is why I sucked at math but was pro at geography (a subject full of visual tools).

This tool could help free up time of IT staff or whatever.

This would make a cool screensaver to.
