yeah, fair enough, i'll do that, i've managed to balls it up about 6 times now coz i suck at WinRAR xD

  2. #52
Haha, you don't actually need to open WinRAR for the 3 parts. Just highlight them, right click, then click exract and then select your SS folder (Obviously you can do the same for the hotfix and badges and banners, just with no highlighting).

i swear to god this mod hates me, i did it all perfectly, tried to the mod and now it doesn't even load, i think it's the hotfix because it runs fine (until 5 mins ingame) without it

    ----------

i reckon the ingame thing is either to do with an AI error or a SCAR error, because it's done this to me with other mods before and i've been just as stuped each time

  4. #54
Have you added any mods to the Codex.module file?

Aha...well i'm afraid if it's not related to Codex, there's not much I can do. What exactly happens when it doesn't load? Does the splash screen appear?

but this, where it doesn't even load the codex mod is just weird

    ----------

well, i put the 5 parts of the codex mod in, and then i put the hotfix file in, i'm working on a brand new codex folder because i got rid of the other one

  6. #56
I assume you mean 3 parts? So what happens when it 'doesn't load'? Does the spalsh screen appear?

half the screen goes black and it says windows is looking for a solution, then the black half of the screen goes away and i'm back on my desktop

    ----------

    theres 5 parts isn't there?

    ----------

    plus the hotfix?

    ----------

i got the official one from dawn of war files and there was 6 parts, but the last one turned out to be a fake

    ----------

the first 3 though i got from a thread like this

  8. #58
No, it seems you're using an older version. Just delete all codex-related files/folders, then download the 3 parts and the hotfix from this thread.

    i'll re-download the hotfix

  10. #60
Alright, but make sure you've just got the 3 parts from here and the hotfix (and the banners and badges if you want them).

do the badges and banner particularly do much? or do they just sit there and look pretty

    ----------

well i got them installed, they're pretty bloody good for a badges/banners pack i'll give 'em that

  12. #62
Haha, well i'm glad that you like them...but that is all they do

that's true, but there's badges and banners enough to make dozens of spin-off chapters, they must've taken aaaages to make

thanks for the help deathteam, i probably would've gone nuts trying to fix that up by myself

  18. #68
    Haha no problem

    ----------

@Vinyl, regarding the Dark Mechanicus, do you have any ideas about how we would make them different to Adeptus Mechanicus...just with spikes on?

Looking forward to give this epically looking mod a try. Specially when I saw the Adeptus Mechanicus are in, gotta love them elite tanks + awesome walkers + cybernetic infantry.

Noticed that the mod files themselves take a ton of hard drive space. As in almost 5Gb. Maybe include a lil' warning about that? Some may fool themselves thinking it's "just" three packages of 500 Mb with barely any compression at all.
On another note, the 'Program Files (x86)' folder is not Win7-exclusive, (in fact, a 32 bit Win7 install won't have it), it's a 64 bit Windows feature. For example, I have Windows XP (64 bit of course) and I have a Program Files (x86) folder.

Couldn't help noticing your warning ("These downloads total more than 5GB") can be easily misunderstood.

That'd make people think that the files to be downloaded are 5Gb in total, which will make less people get the mod. I meant that when uncompressed, it goes from 1.5 Gb to a much bigga 5Gb.

Alright, changed. Does everything meet your standards?

What I'd like for Chaos Daemons is to get rid of repeated or placeholder models as much as possible. It's one of my pet peeves. So the only real problem here are some of the Heralds. Here's what I propose:

    - About Herald of Khorne, you can:
-- a) Leave Herald of Khorne as DoW2 Bloodletter and change regular bloodletters to Catwell's bloodletter model.
-- b) Change Herald of Khrone for the DoW2 Bloodcrusher and switch Bloodcrushers with Catwell's Juggernauts.
-- c) Wait for Warsmith's Herald of Khrone model to be available to use.
-- d) Make the Bloodletter model bigger and add some FX around it so it can be easily told apart

    - About the Herald of Tzeentch:
-- a) Make the Blue Horror model bigger and add some FX to be easier to find on the battlefield
-- b) Change Herald of Khrone for Warsmith's Tzeentch's Disc Rider (it's a bit weird but whatever, if you could change the model riding the disc it would be perfect for a blue horror or a thrall wizard I'd be happy)
-- c) Wait for Warsmith's Herald of Tzeentch model to be available to use.

    - About the Herald of Nurgle:
-- a) I don't know. Change the placeholder for a bigger Plaguebearer or smaller GUO or reskin it, sorry.
-- b) wait for Warsmith's Herald of Nurgle to be complete and available to use.

Also in my experience I think Chaos Daemons are on the overpowered side on T1 because Pink Horrors tear down buildings, Flesh Hounds are great at tying things in melee and the herald has way too much HP (2500k? was it?), but I need more testing. I also think some more abilities for units would be nice.

I'm going to pick c), c), b). Have I just won who wants to be a millionaire?

Well that's why you can only get one dependant on your legion; the enemy can easily counter them with troop/turrets/invisible units. I'll have a look at the herald, but there may be a good counter for them (or alternativaly you could be Grey Knights)

Closed until further notice. Using assets without permission is frowned upon and using assets from Dawn of War 2 is illegal. Please don't do this.
