Italian Armor

    Italian Armor

Knowing that requests are a no-no, I'll ask the following instead: Is anyone currently working on any Italian armored fighting vehicles, specifically the Sturmovente 75/18 assault gun, Fiat M13/40-Fiat M14/41, or the Carro Armato P40 medium tank? I was browsing the forums and stumbled upon the Italian weapons pack, threw those and some italian units into a small mod I'm working on, and then thought "gee, some armor would be nice too".

As a sidenote, within the Italian weapons pack ( http://forums.relicnews.com/showthre...talian-weapons ), only the Carcano rifle works. The Beretta SMG appears as a Luger, BAR, and MP40 floating at various odd positions around the intended user (even with the edited ABP that lacks the Commonmeshes attribute or any of the aforementioned weapon attributes), and the Beretta pistol just appears as the Luger it's intended to replace (with the ABP again being accordingly edited). Many thanks for any help on the two issues.

Maybe ask JDilla! and Eliw00d about the italian tanks. A number of them were modelled some time ago, last i remember, Eliw00d released the Semovente 75/18 and L6/40 in an unfinished state.

The readmes with the 2 files are very uninformative (as they were back then), but i think the models were animated, but unskinned. The readme would suggest that they were animated, but no information regarding anim_table entries, barrel_markers, etc. were included, so it's anyone's guess until someone tries them.

The issues with the small arms sound like conflicts in the .abp file and/or commonmeshes.lua. Make a copy of the commonmeshes.lua file, give that to the italian soldier's .abp file instead of the original, and in the copy, remove the Luger, Kar98 and MP40 entries if there are any, and add the appropriate entries to the soldier's .abp file for the italian guns he'll be using. If that doesn't work, add them to the copy of the commonmeshes.lua file he has instead. And make sure you use correct paths that point to the model files.

The issue is that the M1938 uses the MP40 entry and the M1934 pistol uses the Luger entry.
