Space Marines Hey! Could I get some help? Thank!

Ok, so me and my friend are trying to play DoW. They are both the same game exactly... So when I create a server in LAN. He can see the game, but he cant join, the same goes for me, I can see his game but i cant join. The game says something about us not connecting or something. Im really frustrated because we can play, Warcraft 3, Counter Strike, and Age of mythology but not this... If its something to do with the CD keys tell me. Also we also tried direct connection, Local IP and Internet IP... Thanks in advance

Do you have 2 different coppies of DOW? Ie you both have a legitimate copy of your own?

Alternatively, are you sure someone is not running a mod?

Grimpo, that is piracy. You are seriously not comming here and asking for help to get a pirated copy working, are you?

In addition you have not answered the previous question. Do both users have their LEGITIMATE copy of DOW? With their own legitimate CD keys? Yes or no?

    Dear grimpo,

I'm kind of familiar with the problem you're having. Putting the piracy matter aside, you should be able to resolve this issue by tinkering around with Hamachi and a healthy dose of port forwarding.
According to portforward . com you need to forward port 6112 in your router settings for optimal DOW pleasure.
    Here's how you do it:
    1. go to start (bottom left) and type "cmd" in the search bar, open it up and you should see a black box with white letters.
(if you are unable to open cmd this way you can search for "run" instead of "cmd", in de run bar type "cmd" and you're all set to go)
    2. in the cmd prompt type "ipconfig", here you can find your default router ip. Which you'll need later.
Here's a picture, so you'll know what to look for

    www . imageshack . us/photo/my-images/13/38277392.jpg

Your routers' ip should look quite similar

    3. Write down the ip adres, and type it in the adress like so:
    www . imageshack . us/photo/my-images/593/adressbarc.jpg

    4. Fill in your username and password and voila. If everything went fine and dandy, you should be inside your routers settings now.

    5. Final step, every router settings page looks different so it's hard for me to guide you through this step.
Try to find the NAT settings, there should a port forward option. Here you can fill in an IP adress, port range and protocol.
Leave the ip bar empty, the port range is 6112 and the protocol is UDP.

If you and your friend do this, you should be able to join and see eachothers games via local connection, hamachi or tunngle.
Hope this helps, i know how frustating these issues can be.
Quick note, it doesnt matter if you have a legitimate copy or not. You can basicly play this game together with identical cracked serials, on local area network ofcourse.

    Regards,

    Base

PS: If your windows version isn't english. it's possible that you'll wont be able to open "run" through the start menu.
If ,for some unlikely reason, you need to use this function and you are unable to find it. use google translate, type "execute" and translate to your own language.
This will be the "run" in your language.
I noticed that you're probably not english, so yeah.

Sorry for the crappy links, this is my first day as a registrée which apparently means i have quite a few restrictions. remove the spaces and the links will be functional

Well unfortunatly any help being offered has been in bad faith as you have demosntrated you do not have a legitimate copy of the game and 2 sets of keys belonging to their legitimate owners. As such this thread has been locked for warez violation.

If you would like help with the DOW series, how about you spend the $5 x2 to get you and your friend a bargin basement copy of the series and then there wont be any issues except how much fun can be had with a legitimate copy. Hell you could get the complete collection for under $10 depending on sales.
