Homeworld: Cataclysm simply won't run

Specs:
Windows 7 Professional
Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M CPU 2.30GHz
64-bit operating system
NVIDIA Geforce GT 525M

Game is patched to 1.01 and have tried it on Windows NT compatibility. Homeworld I and II run great. When i execute, it simply won't do anything. Now I have gotten all three games to work perfectly on my windows xp computer, with no problem. Now I have been searching through the technical help and i'm afraid it seems closest to option 1 on the "Game will Not run" forum. Any Advice?

Let me be more clear. Everything seems to install ok, but when i actually try to run the game, the hour glass appears and then nothing happens. I honestly have no clue whats happening. Has anybody seen this problem before and been able to fix it?

tried administrator mode? I am not sure why its hanging i can get it to work on my machines no problem.

Yes, i am the administrator on the machine. I have read that this may be caused by a licensing error. I do have it installed on another machine, could this be the cause?

honestly yo do not need a license besides the cd being present in the drive to get cataclysm to run. clean your machine of it and copy over your installation from one machine to the other
