Bios Transferring ?

    Bios Transferring ?

I have 2 Tangent Medallion 5045B computers that I'm using for music production.

One them works perfectly but the other one has problems booting up.

The setup screen will appear and then all I get is a little "-" that constantly will flicker in the upper left side of the screen and that's it.

I have to then constantly hit F11 or the delete key to enter the setup menu or the boot screen since that's the way the computer is set up and after many times of having to do this I will finally get the machine to boot up.

Both have the same hardware specs, running XP Pro SP2 and are kept offline but one of them for some reason seems to try to boot from the dvd drive, even though I've changed it to boot from the hard drive.

Is there a way to transfer the bios from the good working PC to the bad one?

I ask this because I can't find any site that would carry the bios drivers or any thing like that so that I can get this working.
strange...as wonderfull as it may be,i'm still...up here... floating...and no one even seems to notice.

find your motherboard model... then look it up?

btw.. why does it matter if it boots from the dvd drive... if you keep it empty? does it not then try booting from hdd?

Wow, those are some old beasties you got there. Seems like Tangent Medallion doesn't even exist anymore. Because there is no way you can transfer a BIOS, you're going to have to pull the case off and search for the motherboard model number- post that here and we'll see what we can do.

I would suspect its the hard drive that is the fault and not the bios. If they are identical then I suggest swapping drives to see if the fault follows the drive
