As you may have heard, Blackbird Interactive is a game development company based in Vancouver that's made up of former Relic founders, Relic staff and folks from other local game development studios.
They're looking for fans of Relic's products (notably Homeworld) to help them prep their new game for release. There's a small group of Relicnews members already helping, labeled the "Delta" team, and you could be added to their ranks.

Who do I know from Relic that's currently working at Blackbird?
Rob Cunningham, Aaron Kambeitz, Cody Kenworthy, Frank Roberts, Claire Roberts, Taylor Fales, Josh Long, Richard Sirohi, Noah Stacey, Karl Gryc are the current Ex-Relic folks at Blackbird. There have been other former Relic staffers that have helped out along the way. Studio X is providing audio.
What is the setting for the game?
As per the Blackbird Website and the sign up sheet! Starships, buried in the sand! Some concept art from the game can be seen at www.longmarchindustries.com
How "Beta" is this Beta?
It's pretty Beta. Expect bugs and lack of polish. Weekly builds should allow you to see your reported issues resolved fairly quickly though!
If I'm accepted, what will I have access to?
You will have access to a secured set of Forums here at Relicnews.com which will give you access to a bit of the history of the project, some concept art, and provide you a place to provide feedback on the weekly builds of the game.
Do I need a Facebook account?
For this portion yes. Facebook's user authentication system provided early Blackbird a cheap way to build a user maintenance system. Final delivery platform is to be determined.
Is it a "Facebook game"?
hahaha no, it's not like any of the "ville" games from Zynga.
What will be expected of me as a tester?
Honest, constructive feedback. If it's good, and you like it, we want to know. If a feature is bad, boring or not clear, let us know. If it needs more of anything, you get to tell us!
What will happen if I get accepted and don't participate?
You will be banned from the forums forever. Seriously though, we want folks that want to help. If you won't have the time, please don't apply. We will be cutting out Delta team members who are not contributing.
How long do I have to decide?
We're shutting down this intake as of July 12th around noon Pacific, OR when we hit our goal of 100 additional testers.
