..crusader 2 doesn't have the sword of islam expansion either.
It doesn't, but Sword of Islam is still reduced 75% and easy to pick up for only $2.50. For about $15 you get get just about all there is to get for CKII. Gods & Kings only has a 10% discount by contrast, which isn't quite enough for me to bother with.
I'm waiting mainly for CiV G&K, SoaSE: Rebellion, and Endless Space to get a little cheaper. Sadly, they're newer games, so it's highly unlikely...
Oh, and Skyrim too.

@Rotlung: Skyrim had 33% off the other day I think, you're unlikely to get better than that.
@Kirjava: damnit, the one I voted for didn't get it. Not sure on any of these titles, might as well vote the heck of it.
I am an Iron Warrior! Iron Within, Iron Without!
Max Payne at 50% discount, very nice. Might have to pick it up this time.
The PC will never get back to its true potential, because all the games are now cross platform and all this cross platform games get "consolfied"
Damnit, hesitating on Anno 2070 and Sonic Generations. Both seem good, but both are just a bit too high for me to just impulse buy them.
Thoughts on either?
Seconded on that recommendation for Anno 2070. What do people who already own it think of the game?
2070 is probably one Of the best city management/ecomic sims out there ATM. I'll write up more when I get home.
Just be warned it does have a limited form of UbiDRM (online is not required but it does add some interesting features.)
From dust less 4.00 bucks :O... where my money !!??
Also i recommend anno they seem to be putting more and more updates out for it, well not lately but we see in the future. I just wish the techies was their own full faction .
No qaurter back men, only forward or we will hold this line forever!!!
Row Row Row Fight the Powha
@FF: If you grew up with the genesis Sonic games (like me), or have enjoyed some of the newer titles, then you are likely to enjoy Generations too since its pretty much a rehash of past stages with a new lick of paint. The 3D stages are a little awkward but the 2.5D stages are as close to classic sonic game play as you're going to get. Is it worth the asking price? Unless you fall into the nostalgia category, I'd be inclined to suggest you hold onto your cash and spend it on something else that may interest you in the sale. I agree its still marked a little high to insta buy.
As for me, I'm trying my hardest not to buy anything since this is an expensive month as it is. Its going well so far, but I'm not holding my breath.
Sweet, Space Marine for £4.99? Sold. I like the look of Anno 2070, but I'm not bothering at that price. It'll come down further in a sale or two.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Pack contains everything for Space Marine, was released yesterday and has a sale price of £9.99 (80% off).
Well... sod. Didn't see that. It looks like all extra gubbinz and multiplayer map packs though, so I'll survive without it.
*note to self* Read moar words on sale page before buying.
Goddammit, I refuse to buy games that I don't have time to play... I have too many of those already.
Lautaro you will weaken - the SALE demands it of you and your must agree!
That said I too weakened on Portal 2 for just £3.
Blades of Time is tempting me -- but -- this month has been expensive enough and I don't think I can add much if anything more (plus Biltkrieg on GOG is actually interesting me far more). That said I'd buy Anno and Dust today if I had the money and the computer to run them *its not just the graphics card now -- portal ate up my last gigabyts too!)
Well crap, they raised the Anno 2070 Collection's price to 30 from 25. Guess that just made it a pass.
I'm kinda disappointed with the steam summer sale this year. There's no cool steam contest like always during a sale.
I much prefer the concept of flash sales and community choice sales to the achievement-alike things that ran in previous sales. At least I get to benefit from it no matter what, whereas I mostly got coal and worthless coupons in the holiday sale last year (and likewise for previous sales).
If anyone wants Assassinss Creed 2: Revelations, go get it. We voted for it, after all. Next up: Metro 2033, F3ER and BioShock 2.
Max Payne 3, scrapped my preorder, waited for summer sale. Plan made, plan enacted, 50% off. Nice.
Also, the AC2 series was fantastic. Ezio is one of my heroes.

Well, I surrender. It's time for Max Payne, Alan Wake and Jackie Estacado to suffer under my lack of skills.
FriendlyFire - I like the community choices and I like that Steam isn't making people jump through random game types or do random things on steam to "earn" points for money off. That said I'm not as much a fan of the flash sales, mostly because they create a situation where you've literally got to keep an eye on steam the whole time to know when a new flash sale is starting and when the others end (unlike the dailies which change over at a set time and are easy to work with).
You've described exactly what Valve wants: people to be constantly interacting with and watching Steam
EDIT: Grabbed Sonic Generations, gonna hold off on AssRev (because I didn't even finish AssBro) and Anno (because it's expensive for something I probably won't play that much).
Funny, that's exactly what I though when I read overminds comment.
No purchases for me so far, tempted by Crusader Kings II but I really don't have the time to play it. I still haven't finished some from the last major Steam sale.
THIS.Goddammit, I refuse to buy games that I don't have time to play... I have too many of those already.
I still have games from sales 3-4 years ago that i haven't touched. crazy shit.
I'm marginally interested in 'RAGE', but that got shot down by the "community" because it contains two asses. who knows if it will come back before the 22nd though.
The rest of the games, either fall into the category "I do not care for this game", or "I already own it".
2070 is still too expensive for my tastes, i care not for wh40k, so everything Relic is out of the question. open world games generally don't tend to hold my attention (except for stalker series because the ai controlling the world isn't a brick) and i have half a dozen sandbox games that i cannot get myself to play (gta:sa, gta4, just cause 2, prototype, redfaction guerrilla, x3 series, saints row 2, etc.)
On top of that i have a lengthy list of games that i would like to finish and/or play more of but do not have time to play, which is ironic as i have a lot of time. want a list? no? you're still getting one.
Krater, civ5, tropico 4, warlock - master of the arcane, c&c3; tib wars & kane's wrath, lost planet 1 & 2, dear esther, the ball, riddick:AoDA, fear2, hydrophobia: prophecy, legendary, prototype, redfaction: guerrilla, monkey island: special edition, trine, zeno clash, wh40k dow2,...
then we have "indie" games that have taken a fair chunk of time, such as zomboid and gnomoria (desura). Then we have f2p/betas such as blacklight, smite, firefall, etc.
Too many games, too much choice --yes, too much choice can be a bad thing-- and i've come to the point where i look at a game and ask myself: a few questions; "Do i really want this game?"; "Will i actually play it anytime in the future?"; "how much time do i need to invest into this game to properly enjoy it?" (MP vs SP vs COOP).
I've only spent €1.01 since the beginning of the sale, and frankly, i don't intend to spend any more. /Scrooge mode
valve already got my money from the pyroland event.
*mildly disgusted with negative price discrimination*
Is E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy any good? It looks a lot like Deus Ex and its been on my maybe list for a while, but havent heard anything on it. (Its apparently $4 in the sale at the moment)
And i think Anno is still a little to high for me (i was really hoping it would be cheaper)
And im really impressed with my wallet protection at the moment. Havent spent a dime yet : /
Portal 2: $5
My only purchase so far. Seemed a no-brainer. 3rding not wanting to buy games you know you'll have little intention of playing/having time for (looking at you Space Marine Pack) despite the good price.
Also, I love demos. 10 minutes of Civ5 convinced me it's just not my cup o tea (reminded me of a turn based Rise of Nations - RoN as an RTS was awesome, as TB, not so much). Generally not a big fan of TB games but Shogun 2 and Endless Space really grabbed me and pulled me in.
Evolve or Die...I choose to evolve.
Steam: Ekko Tek
I bought Binding of Isaac and its DLC for $2 and so far that's it. Need to set up joy2key though, keyboard controls kind of suck for this game. I'll probably pick up Telltale's The Walking Dead later as well.
My Interceptor is better than your Interceptor.
Sigh. Seriously? I managed to buy the Tribes Starter pack right in between of every god damn deal for it in the universe.
I love it myself, despite not being able to get the true ending after endless hours of gameplay. It's pretty hardcore though, you have to be ready for deaths that will leave you with permanent stat penalties. Is E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy any good? Fear 3 might be on sale if it wins this round :o
nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan
The only other game I'm interested in is The Missing Link dlc for Deus Ex: HR. I wouldn't mind another play through in order to use the dlc but am still not sure it's worth $9 at 40% off - missed the flash sale when it was $3.79.
Whenever I search for Sonic Generations in Steam, it doesn't appear. I also used the website which says it's unavailable in my region.
I think I'll live without it though.

-Me fail English? That's unpossible!-
I have spent far too much on this "sale" already. More than I normally spend in a year on vidjamagames.
Le sigh! Planning to move out on my own
this yearin a month or two, got no moneh for this. Especially since I bought civ 5 a week ago
This is so depressing! SM for 5$, ANNO 2070 for -50%! I think I'm going to cry
Good to hear. Harder games are always fun to playI love it myself, despite not being able to get the true ending after endless hours of gameplay. It's pretty hardcore though, you have to be ready for deaths that will leave you with permanent stat penalties.
Also happened to just pick up Bloodbowl for 75% off in the random flash sale. Really glad i waited on purchasing that one. And Binding of Isaac for a $1 as i heard it was good too xD
I just bought the Bioshock Collection, since it has been one of those games I say I will buy but never do. Will also pick up American Nightmare. I loved the original Alan Wake and would recommend anyone tempted to snap it up from the flash sale.
I think it's time I made my "what I wasted my cash on this year" post. I don't plan on buying much more (Alan Wake is tempting though, damn you Kapp'n for giving it a good review):
My poor, raped wallet.
- Arx Fatalis
- Trine Bundle
- Bioshock Franchise Pack
- Achron + Soundtrack (as a Gift for a friend, though apparently it comes with two copies of Achron)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Ultimate Sith Edition)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2
- Activision Hits Collection (Blur, CoD, CoD 2, CoD:UO, GUN, Prototype, Singularity, TimeShift, Transformers: War for Cybertron, V:tM - Bloodlines)
- Alice: Madness Returns
- Civilisation III: Complete
- Batman Arkham City DLC (all of it)
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
EDIT: actually, that apparently only cost me a grand total of
£65.29something more than that post-update. More than I spend on games over a two-year period (I had no money for the last set of sales, I think), but manageable. For 19 games, that works out at £3.44 (3.4362) per game. Not bad at all
EDITEDIT: updated with Civ III, Arkham City DLC, Frozen Synapse (Complete) and ze Witcher.

Well, I am sooooo glad that I am working with a certain videogame publisher right now and so got quite a few games I would have bought on sale for free in the last weeks. stuff like that would have gone on my account otherwise...
Still, stuff that isn't available as boxed retail like Legend of Grimrock and SoaSE Rebellion is really tempting me... 2070 with all DLC too... DAMNNNNN....
Veryyyy good choices there... more than half of those I got myself and loved pretty much all of them. Reminds me that I need to play the Bioshock games finally...
Warhammer 40K - 2012
Blood Angels - 2nd Company: W3 T1 L3
Dark Eldar - Kabal of the Blood-Dipped Spear: W3 T0 L1
Grey Knights - 3rd Brotherhood: W0 T1 L1
I am happy to get BioShock and War for Cybertron back (physical copies stolenz ) and I'll probably replay them both fully. Rest of the games I have never played before and, in pretty much all cases, want to try out (possibly barring CoD, but eh. It's CoD).
KoToR on sale, after I bought it on the first day? Ah well, only £3 difference. Now if the Jedi Knight collection appears on sale I may have some crying to do...
93% Explorer, 53% Killer, 40% Achiever, 13% Socialiser
KOTOR does tempt me a fair bit. I have it on CDs but it's a pain to install and probably isn't patched at all.
Skryim is at 50% off today.
I picked up Payday: The Heist after seeing a friend of mine had as well. About time I had some fun with that game.
First rule of Steam Summer/Winter Sales: Never buy anything that isn't at least 75% off or on a daily sale (or a Flash sale for this one) if it isn't the last day.KoToR on sale, after I bought it on the first day? Now it's 50% off. Gabe is a dick.Originally Posted by Gorb

Anyone here ever end up getting Dead Island? If so, is it decent? I passed on it when it was new, but for $10 I might swing it if someone can convince me it's worth it.
It's really, really, unbelievably shitty how Binding of Isaac has a random chance to instantly kill you whenever you beat the game.
So far I've had Portal 2, Saints Row the Third and Space Marine. Thankfully there's been nothing so far that's otherwise tempted me apart from Anno 2070, which is still too high. Seems I'm a lot better than I used to be at resisting games I'll likely never play even though they're 75% off.
da fuck, bought civ 5 for 30 Euro three days ago and the goty edition is now -50% for the entire month. *rages*
