    NOTES ON TECHNOLOGY WORKINGS

    - Kiith Somtaaw created beam-splitter (beam redirection) technology; thus, Hiigaran Battlecruiser probably uses that technology to accelerate particles from front of the ship towards ion turrets, redirecting them throught turrets. Similar technology is seen in Ion Cannon frigatte, althought in that case redirection technology is limited to maybe 10 – 15 degree off-axis firing
    - Hyperdrive uses "Quantum Wavefront" which pushes – and keeps – ship into hyperspace. Hyperspace inhibitors probably work by forcefully collapsing, or preventing formation of, that wavefront

    - phased dissasembler arrays are combination of plasma torch and mass spectrometer
-- the plasma torch vaporises and ionises the material being mined and the spectrometer refined it to it's constituent element

    - hyperdrive works by "quantum tunneling"

    - main drives on ships are fusion torch drives, probably using high-temperature plasma from ship's power plant

    - Plasma Bomb launcher uses plasma from Bomber's fusion torch drive, venting it into self-contained magnetic sphere mounted aboard direct fire missile / bomb; at impact, sphere ruptures and releases near-fusion (in other words: f*ing hot and f*ing dense) plasma in a single burst

    - Ion Cannon is a particle beam using supercharged ions from Capital Ship's main drive

I suggest you read homeworld 1's technical manual: http://www.gamefront.com/files/?file...alBriefing.pdf

    and cataclysm's:http://www.gamefront.com/files/?file...anual_-_PC.pdf

lots of good info there. and just a note the homeworld saga has never strictly adhered to real world physics. and i ma not sure if mass driver weapon's fire was ever drawn to scale. also a warning if you are going to go back to hw 1 and cataclysm and do the same calculations you can not use hw2 distances as a measurement base as the first two are on different scales.

First two games use feet as units, Homeworld 2 uses meters; I'm aware of that. But all measures here are from Homeworld 2, as I never played either HW1 or Cata (Homeworld 1 didn't want to work on Windows XP).

    Thanks for links.

no problem. and odd about windows xp since that seems to be the place where it loves to work the most.

Would it be possible to incorporate a nuclear devise into a mass driver round? although i see a potential problem of the impact making such denotations unreliable and thus decreasing the yield in comparison to a solid slug.
