Using DLC Race armours for Normal Units

I have just recently bought the entire DLC bundle for Retribution, and I was wondering if there was a way to make a normal heretic squad look like the wordbearers DLC heretics

    Follow Hadrun's tutorial:

But you'd have to keep the mod private since DLC, costs money, illegal, etc, etc.

Ahhh I see, where are the files holding the DLC armours however?

and how do I make the heretic squad (for last stand) have the armours and not effect the PVP or Campaign Heretics?

and also dont worry, this definantly only for private use

All of the files containing the DLC are in the games base DATA directory. Everyone has them in their dow2 directory despite buying them or not, its just than the games base gameattributes dont make them available to play until your account is 'flagged' to use that dlc and then it become available to you. For example, the heretic dlc armour is in the data directoy under art/race_chaos/troops_wargear/armour/heretic_wordbearers. I used to have a lot of dlc in my mod back when it was private, but I have since then removed it all and just went for making my own stuff so that everyone could test it out

The only way to edit which models are displayed in last stand and not pvp/campaign is to edit the properties of the unit's ebps. The heretics unit properties or last stand can be found under ebps/core/race_chaos/survive/cultist. (note, if cultist isnt showing up in here, you may need to create a new mod so that the gameattributes are updated to a more current version) The only potential problem with this is editing last stand... I used to change around the properties of the heroes in last stand several months ago, and since I changed the properties that was conflicting with the heroes level, my account is permanently bugged when trying to play last stand, so the heroes stats will only save once after every 2 levels ive played >< Im not positive if editing non hero entities would have the same effect or not, probably not, but I am not certain.

The only other way to go about doing it is to set things up the same way shuma has it for visual upgrades to units that dont break online play. What that consists of is creating a new model(or in this case using a DLC model) renaming it after the original model and dropping it in the original models art directory so that it replaces it. If you do it this way though it will display that model for last stand, pvp and campaign.
