    assaians?

i don't think any on mentioned this but will their be assians? i was just thinking it would be sweet to c a vindicare assain blow the brains out of an ork war boss or some thing along the lines of that. i know relic isn't copying the table top game exactly but almost every rts game i have ever played has had some sort of commando/ sniper unit.

they were b4 the witch hunters codex. avaible for all imperial armys, they could easyaly though figure out a way to give the other sides untis like that though, like kommandos for orks, and some death jestors for eldar etc

i think assains would tip the balance a little much towards the imperials.

not if u gave the approperate handy caps like one only on the map or per side. then u give all the other sides a unit that does some thing else or like it.

Each race only has 12 units. I'd prefer having my whirlies or predators over an assassin.

Edit: Those who are spelling assassin wrong are missing out on the best part of that word: typing ass twice in a row.

The Space Marines have a sniper unit. They're the Scouts. In DoW, Scouts come in small squads, with a few weapon upgrades that really emphasize their commando style role. They've also got a few neat abilities that let them get very close to the enemy where they can do serious amounts of damage, both directly and indirectly.

Assassins are most commonly found in Imperial armies or in elite groups like the Witchhunters or the Daemonhunters. They are not commonly found amongst the ranks of Space Marines. As such they are not indicative of a SM army and did not make the unit cut.

    cheers mates!
thanks for all the positive feedback!

The Orks have their own special unit - the Grots, which have the special "paralyze enemy by making them laugh so hard they fall down and can't catch their breath" ability....

Oh comon guys they dont mean assassains they mean Asians! duh!! No they probably wont make an appearance.

On a serious note, I cant wait to see the space marine scouts sniping from extreme distances. Will it be possible to make most of your troops scouts and snipe rather than the powerful in closer area space marines? Would this just be stupid?

It's an RTS. You can use the pop-cap to make as many of whatever you want. Once you start playing, I think you'll find out pretty quickly what's stupid and what's not

If we ever see assassins in this game it would only be as a SP cameo. Not as part of the Space Marine army list, the main reason for this is because the Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines) don't get along very well with the Officio Assassinorium (Assassins). Some of Games Workshop fluff even aludes to the Assassinorium being responsible for the destruction of the Crimson Fists' fortress during an Ork invasion of their home planet.
