Help with the HomeWorld .dist file

Yesterday I created my first HomeWorld Map using Mission Man.

When I loaded the game it crashed. According to medamanx, of whom I cannot locate, the most likely reason is because of the .dist file not loading correctly.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated or at least links to tutorials that will teach me how to create a working .dist file.

    Nevermind.

    I figured it out.

The easiest way to build your map is with Mission Man.

When assigning distributables to your resources simply look for a .dist relating to gas, dust, asteroid or nebula .dist from any map that you may have in your HW multi-player folder.

Next copy the (resource type name).dist into your map folder. Then go back into MM click the distribution attribute that opens a dialogue box. Clicking on the arrow pointing to the right will open another window most likely into the current map that you are building.

Click on the .dist file for your resource type then APPLY and OK.

This method of loading the resource .dist file works everytime and is the easiest method that I have found for adding the .dist file.

I made my first HW map this morning and was quite pleased with it.

The only problem I am having is I cannot get the custom backgrounds that I have made to show up.

All that appears is darkness and stars as if you were looking into the night skies.

Just some info to pass along for any nubs mapping maps that are having problems with the .dist file.

Alot of the programs that I have for HW no longer work.

I do have the Homeworld Universe Tool Kit along with the Complex Too Kit.

I have BTG v 1.0 but all I that I am able to do is open it up.

I was able to load a background but nothing more.
