For every day that goes and from what I see on the GW site of each and every model and detail of them that is in the package, I´m just getting more and more excited. This really is awesome.

My pre-order was shipped today 07:14GMT. So I may have it today, more likely tomorrow. If I do get it early, I can post pictures of models and describe the contents, such as the mini rulebook and missions.
I won´t expect my Package to arrive until sometime next week. But I truly do look forward to it. Wondering if I should actually start collecting Chaos. Always liked the Thousand Sons for some reason. This Starter Box could be my way to begin my collecting a Thousand Sons Army.
I got a parking fine worth exactly the same as Dark Vengeane :-(
Yesssss Collette Chaos, ultimate power is at your very fingertips. All you have to do is swear yourself to the Great Ones!
Knife King of Doltland
I'm not surprised. Anything within three feet of you seems to end up full of knife shaped holes.
I was torn between starting a small Dark Eldar army or a small Necron army... Looks like I'll be starting that Chaos SM army I've been talking about for the last 2 years.
You never truly know someone...
Until you fight them.

I'm with ya Ten, although in my case it's more like 'get off me arse and finish my EC army'. When Emperor's Children took in in the pants on the newest dex, I set them aside. The EC Warband for Apoc was about the only way to get the army on the table the way they should. DesertFoxx is also looking to start his World Eaters as well. In both cases, the allies rules will allow us to leverage the real Daemons as they should be. Mmmmm...
Of course, what's even more interesting is the fact that I may actually put a small DA Allies force together. Nothing fancy, but it'll be alot of work to clean up those angels, so maybe an HQ+Tac+DW allies force will be something fun to paint. Hell, if the rumours about DA Whirlwinds are true, there's my allied Heavy choice.
Trackin no. says the LE box gets delivered on Tr, SQUEEEE!!!!
Yeah, you read my mind with the allies thing Wolf. I'm planning on having a 500 point army for each and every army out there and those two just beg to be fielded together. What are the rumors about the DA Whirlwinds?

From the rumoured DA Playtest leak. If true, pure freakin win!
Possible Termie Cyclones may get something similar. Um, WALKING ANTI-AIRCRAFT MISSILE EMPLACEMENT!?!?!?!Whirlwind can switch their Vengeance/Castellan missiles for Hyperios missiles for 15 points. Heavy 2, Twin-Linked krak missiles, with skyfire/interceptor.
Wow. That is beefy.
Edit: YAY! Off to pick up my set today!

Holy shit. The pics online really do these minis no justice. I wish EVERY miniature GW made had this level of detail and quality. I have to say these are better than any "Finecast" I've seen.
Zero buyer's remorse here.
Good thing is that some of the Cultists you get in th ebox too can easily be used for Henchman and such for the Grey Knights and Deamon Hunters in general.
lol. After posting about mine being shipped, it still hasn't arrived! Damn them all!
Not to brag... But without any preorder whatsoever I walked into my local (non-GW) game store yesterday and paid in full just in time to catch their "double points month". I got $20 in-store credit yesterday and my boxed set today... The one with the limited edition Chappy.lol. After posting about mine being shipped, it still hasn't arrived! Damn them all!
Life's been shitty to me lately. I deserve a little fish food.

I wonder how many there are in total of the Limited Edition Chaplain you get in the Starter Box.
Seen a cpl of them on ebay the last cpl of days and the prices go from $40-$50 each.
I´m just glad I preordered mine Box anyway. Don´t wish to pay up to $50 for one single Limited Edition Miniature. At least not this one. I rather pay that much for other Minis which are truly in Limited Editions.

Never thought I would give a darn about the Dark Angels but after building them...I am becoming a fan!
Only one of us is going to leave here alive and it ain't gonna be me!
No one is above the law...of physics.
I haven't been keeping up with 40k for a while, and I just saw this thread. My god those Chosen models are stunning, possibly the best Chaos models ever. The urge to find them and paint them is growing in me...
(Experimental) codex entry for the Cultist has been leaked, comes with the points cost and equipment options ... check the rumour source of your choice if you want to know more...

Very cool. Almost enough to make me want to get back into 40k. Not quite, but almost.
Dark Vengeance is already released. And the Chaos Codex is TBA
The regular version of Dark Vengeance is supposed to be out this weekend I think. The chaos codex is still mostly rumormill BS with no actual official word. My pre-order will arrive tomorrow because of the holiday. Splitting it between a friend of mine, he's going to get the DA... but don't tell him, I'm going to paint the chaplain before giving it to him. I simply will not allow him to dip an LE model like that.![]()
Death holds no fear only for the fool. An Astartes' duty is to control that fear and turn it into a blind hatred of the end of his life, for it brings with it the inability to fulfil his duty to the Emperor.
Why give him the Chaplain at all? Do a good job painting it up and sell it instead.
And Good Luck getting the box tomorrow. I will not getting it tomorrow, but luckily by the end of this week. Not getting it because of the fact I ordered the Warhammer Fantasy Box next to this. They won´t send it as 2 seperate packages.

Alas, mine is scheduled for delivery on Wed. Still, I am STOKED to get it. Thanks to the allies rules, I may actually paint up some DA and IH, (the only 2 founding legions not represented in my collection).
I did the same as you Ten Tigers. Couldn´t wait any longer. Went to my local one and bought a Starter Box and paid FULL price.
Checked my order yday, and it is still stated as under process, simply means my package is not yet ready to be shipped.

Got mine here at the office today. OMFG this is disturbingly good. Damn the dark gods, I'm tempted to betray DesertFoxx and not give him the Chaos models as promised.
GW have taken their game up several notches, (no pun intended).
Not only are the models beautiful, but they were truly a joy to assemble.
I'd have to say this thread lives up to its title. This is---IMHO---the best starter set ever.
Yes, and I'm kinda mad I went in half and half with a friend of mine on it. He's going to take that awesome limited edition figure and dip it, even after I offered to paint it for him. The thought actually makes me ill. :P But I've got my new additions to the word bearer force, so I guess that'll have to do.

There is no 'regular' box, it's just the next run when the chaplains run out.
Chaos is supposed to be released Sept 29th(ish) with previews at Games Day UK, and lots of stuff coming out throughout October. I have no doubt pretty much the entire codex will be on show at Games Day.
Dark Vengeance is truly a step forward for Citadel Plastic Miniatures. Best set ever? Different opinions though, but I still have Assault on Black Reach fresh on Memory. SO I would say both sets are the BEST. Even today I wouldn´t mind buying an extra set of AOBR.
I say it far exceeds Assault on Black Reach. Not saying I didn't like AoBR, nor that it was a hell of a deal. But the Nobs looked kinda clunky and forced; they stand out from my "real Nobs." I also feel that the quality of the Cultists trumps the quality of the boys from AoBR hand over fist. Even the Hellbrute has more detail and love put into it than the Dreadnought did.
Yeah. Just one man's opinion... They are both good sets but Dark Vengence smokes AoBR.

I'd say DV eclipses AoBR. AoBR was 'better' in that it had more generic force options, making duplicate box purchases more worth the while, but then again you WANT to have ALOT of Orks. The Tacs & Cultists from DV already have alot of redundancy in their poses within a single box, but the more unique forces are so unique that they would almost be at a disservice without some conversion attempts.
I'll be at a box & a half after my split LE and the 2nd box when the CSM book comes out. There will be a number of conversions when I'm done, incl one Sgt biker into a WS Stormseer on bike, alternative Company Master/Libby, Termie Sgt & Tac Sgt at minimum. Looking forward to all of it. I just finished reorganizing my workspace, I fear the DA Tacs may be the first to see primer. Egads, what would my Wolves think?

i'm splitting a box with a guy. im getting the angels and he's getting the chaos.
im sure people all over the world are doing the same, its the cheapest 'army' i've ever bought BNIB
I'm painting my DA units in Black Legion colours.
They shall be a Fallen battleforce, allying themselves with the despoiler. I can't wait.

I'll get some pics of my black legion and thousand sons painted out of the box. The models are truly a joy to work with.
I´m thinking of also painting the Chaos as Thousand Sons. For some reason I always liked the Thousand Sons, and they are also the sworn enemy to the Space Wolves Chapter for centuries. Which I also always liked.
I might as well begin looking for a Thousand Sons Painting Guide for both directions, ideas and Tzeentch in general.
This is going to be the color scheme for my Chosen... If I can post this right. Its one of my chaos paintjobs for the Space Marine videogame.
