Games Impossible creatures - cursor bugged

Hi there, im new to the forums and i have a huge problem. i just installed my copy of impossible creatures onto my new dell XPS l702x and as i went to run it i realized i have a problem. it appeared as though the cursor was stuck in the middle of the screen but as i tried moving my mouse around its as though the mouse still moves around but the cursor doesn't so its kind of like an invisible mouse. I had a similar problem with Dawn of War Dark Crusade but i fixed that by changing a value in the driver config files. I tried a similar approach with this but i couldn't find anything related to the mouse in the driver settings.

    Laptop Specs:
    Intel i7-2670QM
    NVIDEA GeForce GT 555M
    12GB RAM
and im using the default mouse pad.

ive already tried looking all over the web and none of those solutions worked. i tried changing the cursors to windows basic, re-downloading the graphics drivers and running the game in compatibility mode.

    I really need help. thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I also have an L702X, hopefully I can compare my settings to yours to isolate the issue.

To confirm, are you using the internal trackpad, or a USB mouse? If you are using the internal trackpad, do you have the Synaptics drivers installed, or are you using it with the standard PS/2 drivers? If you have the Synaptics drivers installed, what version are they (check under Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings)

Also, if you can get a DXDIAG I can look it over too.

    hi there,

Thanks for the reply but I have now fixed the problem. It turns out I over looked the file I was looking for in the config. So i fixed it by changing the "allowhwcursor" from 1 to 0 in the "spdx8_config" text file in the drivers folder, exactly the same as dawn of war and it worked like a charm but thanks again for the reply.
