    [Update] Super Pershing: back on track again!

    I will use this thread to post any models i finish whenever i find time and motivation. no requests please, i mostly do things when i feel motivated to make them

    this is still in beta, meaning it looks not as good as it should, and maybe some things are not perfect, but it otherwise works perfectly

    some assembly required with this one, you may have to change the file paths in the rgm

    make sure you use the following state
    do_action_state_name = pershing_turret

    state_machine_name = on
    when using it to make the turret appear


    Disney Bomb
    A rocket bomb used by the allies. works similar to a V1
    included is also the sound file i wanted to use as an incoming sound warning when using the bomb. unfortunately i could not figure out how to get the sound files in game

    Many bren carriers were captured by the germans, and some of them mounted 3 panzershreks, creating the Panzerjäger Bren 731(e)

    What's the difference between this and the normal Pershing? Is it just visual, or bigger gun?

    Ill upload a picture when i can, but it includes a longer gun, a .50 cal, the gunner and loader hatches were moved around, added some of the extra armor and other extras the super pershing had

    Lol, it could be that its to long, but COH scaling is crap. So it could actaully be right, and just the Pershing having to small of a gun.

    The M3 90mm gun was 53 calibers long and the T15E1 90mm gun was 73 calibers long. That means it is only 73 / 53 (~1.38) times bigger. Maybe it just needs some adjusting, it is a Beta after all. Good job, though, robotnik! It is good to see you working on stuff. Any other plans or ideas for the future?

    It is actually a T26E1. No E4s ever saw combat and actually had a different gun, too (T15E2).

    ^ as for plans for the future, right now im working on a flak bren. Its a flak38 on top of a bren carrier lol, the germans made them with captured bren carriers

    also im going to animate the t28 that adiya made when i get the time.

    i like weird tanks and weapons, so i enjoy making them

    I humbly offer feedback as follows:


    The textures of the hull and turret don't match--- that said tho I know its a beta and I say keep the great work up I look forward to the final design

    I love the muzzle glow effect!


    One bug i found, is that if you have the stock pershing out at the same time as the super pershing: the extra turret armor disappears. Actually via more testing the extra turret armor goes away at random. I am sure it is something you can fix. You are very skilled.

    Very nice to see someone making the T26E1! Some constructive criticism: As others mentioned already, the barrel is a bit too long, but you already wrote you will change that. That said, to make the T26E1 more distinguishable from the M26, you could remove the mudguards (afaik they were removed on the Super Pershing), and the extra hull armor that was added on the front.

    oh and guys, the marker name for the projectile is, marker_main_gun.

    edit: sometimes the armor plate on the turret vanishes, also the turret is floating in the air once the tank is destroyed.

    btw has anyone managed to get the .50 cal rotating?

    edit2: have fixed the issues but cant upload the fix.

    robotnik forgot to tick a checkbox in the rgo file, i allways forget to do that so i opened the file to check it.

    i see several problems

    1. can't see the coxial mg muzzle flash

    2. 50 cal mg joint is missing

    3. maingun does not "straight" point at enemy(coxial mg does point right, maingun has a some lift)

    What did you have to tick, I've been trying to get the gunner to rotate for a while but have had no luck. Also I noticed as well that sometimes the extra armor plates vanish for no reason, but I can't figure out why

    Yeah the extra turret armor and the gun mantlet disappear after a few mins. I am sure the final version will have that sorted out. Its just a beta. Someone here might be able to help you out.

    I'm DL the object editor now, Ill see what i can do with it, and post the results.

    The Oe wont let me open the rgo's. It says not in any known projects. Ill just wait until its finished I cannot fix it myself.

    well already I put functioning the tank and I loved it
    but it I have to change is the damage system
    so you can destroy any vehicle in an instant
    already repair as the gunner and just need that and already

    Thank you mate. I am still testing but it seems you fixed the turret armor problem. not sure of the .50 cal rotation unless my weapon files are messed up.

    ok im going to put the fix into the super pershing download


    i also tried making the sherman with a pershing turret, but all i get is this. i tried combining haltrack and tankdestroyers pershing turret and the chassis from their 76mm sherman, since i dont think i would otherwise be able to add a different turret to the sherman without re-animating the sherman, i think.

    Freaking awesome I got both my wishes thnks so much Rob. So i guess you might need to adjust the position of the new turret. but you may also need to redo the hull of a sherman model. It should be an M4A3 sherman chassis/hull. To be historically cannon.

    robotnik, i have removed the sherman turret and its gun, but it seems like the pershing turret has to be a bit lower, cause now theres a huge gap between turret and hull.

    only thing you have to do is add a state to the sherman via an upgrade_action :

    do_action_state_name pershing_turret

    state_machine_name on.

    ^Ok, thanks a lot for the fix. Halftrack also said he had a proper turretless sherman he would supply me, which should fix any other issues.

    I would, but like i said in the first post i do models which i find interesting and that im capable of doing, as this is more of a hobby for me than a job. if i do release any you want you are more than welcome to use them

    yeah the pz V/IV looks nice.

    iam currently working on some additional armor plates for some tanks, so damaged tanks get them after being repaired.

    Anyway here is a little tip to avoid any misunderstanding : the second image is pure artistic vision, or gameplay problem if it's a plastic model used in a wargame haha Cause in fact this tank (only 1 saw the world ) had the turret directly riveted on the hull, so it can't turn the turret... in fact this strange mix of panther and panzer iv featured a... motorized assault gun XD

    Yeah the reason of this fixed turret is, the base was a bergepanther of the first series (Ausf. D) with the turret ring removed but left the round hole, covered only by some planks.

    i think they would have made the turret turnable again if they would have decided to build and use them.
