    Is it that time again.....

Anyway here it goes as it always changes on my mood....

    1. CIV
    2. HW
    3. BG (all of them)
    4. I-War (both of them)
    5. Freespace

Loads more, but they are the ones that spring instantly to mind.....
    GIRLS, FEIC and ARSE

Squid that was 2 years ago.

    Anyway, my list would be:

    1. Oni.
    2. Dune 2000
    3. Q3A
    4. HW2
    5. Starcraft

  6. #6
    1) Total Annihilation
    2) IL-2 Sturmovik
    3) Freespace 2
    4) Age of Empires II (Age of Kings)
    5) HW: Cataclysm

Those are the games that I've played most during the last 7 years. HW or HW2 would probably be on the list if I hadn't stopped serious online gaming 2-3 years ago due to lack of time. I bought HW after HWC, but it never became anything more than a curiosity (ditto for HW2, which I sold after finishing the SP campaign). At the moment, IL-2 and its spinoffs (BoB & Pacific Fighters) are the only games that I have time for.

Oh God, I Have Been Here Too Long.

I looked at the month and date. "Five months ago? Yeah, I guess that's pretty recent."

In seriousness, didn't we have a more.. recent one?

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common.
They don't alter their views to fit the facts, rather they alter the facts to fit their views.
...This can be unfortunate if you happen to be one of the facts they need to alter.

Ah the Dungeon Siege series, good stuff, I thought they were great aswell, it's just a big shame about their end, I don't know what happened to Dungeon Keeper 3. I remember an old trailer showing horny stepping out into the sunlight, and then it went on about how the 3rd will be on land. Well maybe thats why it was never heard of again, take away the underground tunnel/cave digging part of the game, and you don't have much left to compete with every other rts out there thats just the same.

Big things that that killed this game for me were the limited resolutions (max is 800x600) the graphics and the lack of scale, 30 monsters isn't really big fish t me, I want hordes of nasty looking things of all shapes and sizes sweeping through the level and killing everything, preferably human goody sides. So in otherword, I'd say it was a game before it's time.

One big good thing of course was the first person spell, my god the amount of time I must've spent using that, If only there was better eye candy, that was really making good use of the 3d engine, and I think other games should think to give it a try.

Alpha Centerai ugh, I had no idea what I was doing with that, looked at it, then never touched it again.

:edit: Argh Dungeon Keeper, as Dimension said, sorry. :edit:

    Dungeon Siege != Dungeon Keeper.

I actually preferred DK1 to DK2. i loved the dragons, high-level vampires and iron maidens. then i had several trolls slaving away in the work shops (i locked them in, so they only had access to the workshop and their own hatchery and lair). high-level spiders are fun too, albeit very very fragile.

and of course the most awesome thing was training up your imps. i had a rotating system where i'd lock about a third of my imps into the trinaing room until they gained level five (gives them speed boost), and then threw the next slew of imps in there. once they're level 10 and get teleport, they are so damn effective. instantly appear wherever you want them, and hardly ever die because of their beefed up stats and because the teleport out when they're attacked. OMG and hellhounds were so cool. lightning attack, flame breath, speed boost.

DK2 was fun for black knights and fallen angels, but i missed my dragons and think that there were not enough units compared to the first one.

    ... what?

dungeon siege and dungeon keeper are totally different games. one is a mindless, aesthetically pleasing hack and slash, the other is a peter molyneux game (right...?).

It's sad, but there are better games that have stronger stories and were more enjoyable, but for some reason I can't replay them. Like KOTOR- great, but try it a second time...
The hungry, ignorant man immediately grasps that he is handed a fish, but is bewildered when handed a net. The man who shivers in the cold thinks happily of the man who invites him to sit by his fire, and somewhat poorly of the man who loans him an axe, flint and steel.
