    Ghosts

There are many "reports" of ghosts and such little wierd supernatural creatures that seem to be so ridiculously mysterious. There are quite a few theories that make sense, and others that do and don't make sense. Have you heard of any of these? Do you have any?

One of my theories is that it is just people believing only what they want to believe, after all, what is more powerful than the human mind than a human mind???

    Myself
Are we governed by what is there or what we think?
It's always what we think. Are those shadows an extra-sensorary person thingie or just some coats and a chair?

Personally I think they do exist. I believe they absorb the heat from the air around them to manifest or move objects around.

Even Christ is supposed to have acknowledged their existance when he was resurected. If He acknowledges them then that is good enough for me to accept the existance of them.

If there's ever good enough proof for 'em, I'll believe in them. As it is, I can't.

Most of those "unsolved mysteries" TV shows are absurd... for example, one show had this white mist moving across the camera's field of view - it was obviously the breath of the person videotaping it!

There's nothing to explain. I've never seen any good evidence for the existance of ghosts, thus I don't believe. All the "evidence" I've seen (on things like bad FOX television shows and whatnot) has been bullshit.

I think everyone can agree that Fox tv show = propaganda to sell commercial time. So anything on Fox = the fail or not the truth.

:dons a white sheet and begins to rattle some chains then enters a fox broadcasting site:

"wooooohoooooooooo ghosty here................... Where do I go for make up"

Seriously though I think that I do believe in them. Although I have never had any first hand experience there is too many rational and logically people who have said they have had some "ghostly experience".

Still you never know............... :cue tales of the unexpected music:

There is no logical explination for ghosts, spectres, or any other form of undead.
Um.. doesn't that support the supernatural in this instance? The lack of a logical explanation?

But I'm with Ceejayoz, I'll believe it when there's evidence.

I think I saw something on TV saying it has something to do with local EM fields screwing up a persons brain. Can't remember specifics, but it was convincing.

The same programme had a scientist (and colleagues) who thought he saw a ghost in his lab. He frequently saw a grey blur creeping into his peripheral vision, but it dissappeared whenever he turned to look at it.

After a few experiments, he found that extremely hi-frequency sound waves (in this case from a vent fan) cause the human eye to vibrate in its socket, causing the blur.

    WTF?

Myself, I've seen enough ghosties to believe in something. Not necessarily dead people wafting about or psychic energy. But my thought process is often far from mathmatical or scientific, so I couldn't possibly satisfy any kind of stringent examination on the matter. So I guess they don't exist.

Apparently a farmhouse I lived in a few years ago had a poltergeist at one point...I only saw evidence of it once...it was pretty freaky. Home alone, i left the dining room for a few minutes and when i came back all of the chairs were on their backs like they had fallen over and something had scared the crap out of my cat.

    Weirdnessness.

Um.. doesn't that support the supernatural in this instance? The lack of a logical explanation?[quote] What I meant is that there is no explination as to what they are, not why they're there, if you can see a ghost, it means that light is reflecting off of it, which means it has some mass for the light to hit, people also suggest that ghosts give off energy, if that were the case you'd be able to detect them with something, they would also probably be able to conduct electricty which would make things interesting when they moved through a wall with wires in it.

Tygre, I have no idea what could have caused that to happen, without being there at the time, or you giving me blue prints of the house and telling me exactly what position everything in the house was in, I could only suspect your cat was in heat and began to tear around the room while you were out.

because when your back there it's creepy, it's dark and you begin to imagen things and wonder what the origen of some of the noises are. A ghost is just something your mind makes up to explain something that you can't think of an explination for, much like saying lightning is an act of god.
My aunt believes strongly in ghosts, and shes had a few experiences with them, one of which was comical in nature (as in not spooky to her). She was going through her basement looking for something, then she turned around and there was a man in a boulder-durby hat thingy and old 1920's clothing sitting in a chair, rocking it. She looked at him oddly and then with a chuckle in her voice said "Hey, arent u supposed to be dead? lol" and the ghost kinda nodded then dispersed.

This brings us to the conclusion (considering that my aunts tale is entirely true, which i have not known her to lie) that A) Ghosts do exsist or that B) it is something besides the human mind being afraid causing these visions

my school is without a doubt haunted. At first i thought it was just the upperclassmen trying to scare us but then my art teacher, Mrs C. told us the story about it. in the 1800 my school was a manchion that belonged to a rich family. They had a little daughter about 7 or 8. She did something bad and her dad locked her in her room and that night the manchion caught on fire and she burned to death in her room because her door was locked. Her room was where the art room is now, and lemme tell you it gets freeky in there some times. Mrs. C's usually has a bunch of candles in her room. and they never stay lit for more then 1 hour, no matter what kind of candle. and sometimes on days where there is no breeze you can feel a freezing chill that just comes and goes. And the weirdst thing was i was helping Mrs. C with the stage for a play and we went to her room to get some paint. after we got the paint, locked the door and started to walk away the door shuddered and unlocked. weird shyt man

That's what I was thinking...the cat did it. It was weird, all the same, because I hadn't heard the chairs fall.
